    I got a base model (JL sport unlimited) for 36k which is a great deal. On long road trips its averaging 27 miles and about 24 around my home.
    As a hiker the base model is all that is needed for light off-roading. Just enough to get to remote trailheads. I prefer economy, comfort and efficiency so I am doing nothing unnecessary. I might get a rack for my kayak and gear.

    I love wranglers, sadly they have priced themselves out of most peoples price range. My 2013 Wrangler sport with tow package, power windows and locks was $32k, a similarly equipped JL is $45k where I live. A $12k price increase in 6 years is insane to me.

      Eh if I were in for a Wrangler I would run 2 door sport for 28k then hard top and actually added to it as only upgrades for 32k, in the future the upper ends are nice but agree they are getting way over priced. Even that at 32k is a bit much compared to what a used one would run given how easy they are to work on and maintain

    From what I understand, the new death wobble is due to alignment centering and the stability control. Make sure the steering is properly centered before having the steering aligned and ensure the wheel is aligned properly at the rack instead of the rod end. Hope this helps,

    Very nice looking Jeep. I bought a new Rubicon Unlimited back in 2011 for a good deal. (Last of the 3.8 engines) Still enjoy it everyday and the Wrangler Jeep wave is still going strong :) Only vehicle I have owned that was always worth more then was owed throughout the entire loan. My only advice is to make sure you have glass coverage with no deductible and make sure the insurance covers an oem windshield. Other then a couple of windshields I haven't had any other problems.

      @ithan8069 4 года назад +1

      Jim I acknowledge the renegade is for all practical purposes a fiat, however, as you alluded, wranglers are a different realm. And to that point, the 4 cylinder turbo was a concern upon its debut, but it’s been nearly three years and it’s been proven a reliable engine. If fiat does one thing right, it’s making reliable 4 cylinder engines. Concerns about their reliability are outdated. Yes, it was an issue. Back when 4 cylinders were introduced. They’ve since been refined. And to your point about the 4Runner, I’m sure it’s a very reliable car too. I’m assuming that saying it works as if it just came off the assembly line is an exaggeration of some degree though.

      You can address the steering oscillation by fixing the caster angle on the front axle. A steering stabilizer wont fix it (it just hides it). Get adjustable lower front control arms, have an alignment shop adjust it, and you should be golden.

    • @lifeofabachelor8547
      @lifeofabachelor8547 5 лет назад +2

    • @garrettrudd8876
      @garrettrudd8876 5 лет назад +4

      +Amber Parish get an Adjustable TrackBar. As others have said the stabilizer will not cure bump steer/death wobble. An adjustable trackbar with solid end links will fix it. Plus you can recenter the front axle with the adjustable length. Right now your axle is being pulled to the left side of the rig. The factory uses rubber bushings on both ends of the track bar which cause a lot of deflection and movement. Look up Carli Suspension and read up on it a bit. Do it sooner than later before it wears out other front end/Steering parts. Cheers!

      1. IT’S YOUR JEEP! You build it how you want it to look, what you can afford, how you want it to perform.
      2. Id stay away from cheap products. I’ve learned that from experience.
      My idea for your Jeep is: If you decide you get Snow White or the princes gang on your hood, stick with the black trim like your little Jeep decal you have on it already. I think the ‘dark’ princesses would fit the “badass” look. And if you have tattoos then maybe get the princesses with the tattooed arms. Just giving you ideas to work with. You do You!

    Stabilizer will just mask the wobble for about 30,000 miles. Then it will come back along with 7,000 dollars of damage caused by not fixing the alignment problem. Been there done that... :( Don't mask it, fix it.

    • @keithlucas6260
      @keithlucas6260 5 лет назад +1

      Too much "toe in" would do that as opposed to "toe out". Then "reading" the tire wear and scuff marks on the tires would point out which one it is. Best thing is to have it laser aligned and adjusted just in case the axle is pointed down in front. 2 inches isn't much, but it still changes the geometry.

    I also went for a JLU Sahara. Shes going to be a labor of love, but I got the soft top version because in Tennessee it ends up nice enough most of the year that I know I'm going to love the top all the way down. I have the all black with cloth seats and I'm like Amber I wish it had the proximity sensor in the doors. I came from a Lexus IS 250 F Sport and loved that feature so much. Not that big of a deal to me because I'm not usually carrying a purse but it would be nice if I wanted to shove my keys in my backpack. We searched older models for quite some time before we decided that really the JL was the way to go for us. The older ones we were looking at were around three to four years old and didn't have the tech features that I was used to using in the Lexus, so overall I'm thrilled. My commute is forever long at the moment but is about to change and now that the weather is getting nicer I'm really looking forward to using the top more. It was definitely an expensive purchase but it's really the only SUV I would consider right for me.

    Death wobble is a real issue, you spend over 50k and end up with a vehicle that you don't know if the next bump will make it uncontolable and potentially crash. I had to change out my entire steering on my jeep and all the fasteners to get mine to stop. My wife later bought the first year new Cherokee. it spent more time in the shop than on the road due to that crap auto trans. we eventually had to trade it off because we didn't have year or more to get the thing lemon lawed. The wrangers are way under powered. I had my jeep through Colorado, Moab, and the Telico trail, great times but to have a reliable ride you end up throwing way the steering, suspension, drive shafts, ring/pinion, exhaust, and tires/wheels to get even a rubicon to where it needs to be to handle these trails unless you like bunny trails. they have made these into something normal people cannot afford on the lot and then realize you are going to gut it to make it really capable spending 10s of thousands of dollars and there is not enough motor to boot. They are never going to give us a hemi. Now they give us the Gladiator truck with the same under powered engine good luck getting that to work. After my wife's top of the line Cherokee being a lemon we are done with Jeep.

    So it's basically a Rubicon minus all of the good things that make a Rubicon a Rubicon - bigger axles, beefier transfer case, sway bar disconnects, better shocks, Rubicon hood, etc. that are all expensive to add after the fact are all missing here. I paid $48K for a loaded JL Rubicon that is missing the only feature hers is missing (proximity entry). I don't see any real value in this particular purchase, and also don't see an explanation for the case of a Safari over a Rubicon as suggested by the video's title.
    It's a good looking rig for sure, but every "benefit" of a Sahara for an on-road Wrangler, which is why the Sahara exists, has been swapped out. What she's left with is a Rubiclone with death wobble due to a budget lift, which if she'd gotten a Rubicon she wouldn't have to add since her Sahara is now as high as a stock Rubicon.

      @@chrishunt5291 Not everyone wants a Rubicon because not everyone wants the crappy ride that comes with off-road tires, not everyone wants the higher ride hight combined with the rock rails which makes it harder to get in and out of the vehicle. Those are the only two benefits that a Sahara has over a Rubicon. The Sahara is designed to be more usable on-road. That's my point. Even if she was given all of the Rubicon bits for free, she's essentially taken a Sahara and negated all of the positives of a Sahara, nearly paid 95% of Rubicon money for it (a similarly optioned Rubicon vs Sahara - ie when you load them all out - cost almost exactly the same), and still doesn't have something as capable as a Rubicon. If you're going to take a comfortable road-going Sahara and for the asme price make it as high and uncomfortable as a Rubicon, why not just buy a Rubicon to begin with and get the added benefits I mentioned?

I'm definitely jealous this super young girl has this Jeep, but I have to ask financially this seems pretty reckless unless you have a huge down payment or cash to buy it. That's a lot of potential debt. That's my biggest issue with Jeep's, you need to have some serious money and be willing to dump more money into them. My daughter (who is short like Amber), has a 2017 JK Extreme Purple. Like Amber, she loves how you can see out of it. My daughter has a windshield sticker that reads " Silly boys, Jeeps are for girls" . I have had a CJ5, Cherokee, 08 JK, 14 JK and now the JL. This is the best Wrangler by far. Yes I know it is expensive but they hold the value. Amber, since you took your steps off, I suggest you put the 3M Invisible mask on the fronts of your rear fenders. If you do any driving on gravel you will protect from chips. And yes, even those plastic fenders will chip. And keep an eye on the door hinges, they seem to attract chips also. Too bad you didn't get the proximity, that is a nice option. The 4H is why I got the Sahara. It is great in snow and off road for hunting. I live in SD so plenty of that.

      Jesus dammit stop complaining about what a vehicle costs. Are you posting in the McLaren videos about them?? Bitching about how they're too expensive??? What about a Ferrari or Porsche??? Oh damn the G-Wagens are $150k!! Are you posting on a Mercedes video complaining there too???
      This idea that Jeeps are too expensive is nonsense. That's a top-line Sahara. OF COURSE IT'S GONNA COST SOME MONEY.
      Listen very carefully: A $40k car is expensive just like a $20k car is, or a $10k car is. If you can't afford something then you can't afford something. Plenty of minimum wage earners could never drop $20k for a vehicle, so why are you not complaining that everything's too expensive?? It makes no logical sense for you to do so.

      @J name It's not really anybody's business what she does, honestly. Maybe her BF makes bank, maybe her family has cash. If she lives at home or with her BF and pays little rent, works at a dealership, and saved up a while, it might be completely legit. She didn't seem very entitled so I give her the benefit of the doubt.
      To your House Hunters example, I think tire cleaning is supposed to average about 2.9 mil a year so that adds up. :-p

    To all the people complaining about price this isn’t your base stripped wrangler you paid peanuts for. It’s a luxury trimmed full time 4wd capable optioned out 4 door. People work hard for their things. Just because you can’t purchase it, don’t take them down.

    "$900 taillight"?!! ... That's only about $600 more than one for a Rolls Royce.
