I can't believe that living in the mountains you haven't wired the house, heating system to a back up power system. LP generator, solar generator, solar system. That anti scold valve should be in a location that its accessible, they require replacing over time.

I heard from my spay foam contractor, Rockwool was bought out.Then the workers went on strike. We are having a had time getting 24 inch batts in Denver area.
Backup generators are amazing! I suggest one to prevent frozen pipes!

We live in the tropics and we have two generators. Losing power during cyclones and during heatwaves, backup power is a must. Worldwide the way they are going crazy installing green power, backup home generators are going to be a must have item.

Back pain…installed a “pull up bar” in my shop and patio so I could “hang” from it to decompress and relieve pressure on my discs. Worked great.
My neighbor did this. And then he did one for our house, too. It works great.
My favourite highlight amongst so many was when Allie filmed where Leo had been in the addition and built a Tower from odd pieces of wood. Bless him, he sure has a great imagination. Another action filled video. xxxxxx Love to all the amazing team xxxxxx
Ali, the best and easiest way to make bacon is in the oven. Turn oven to 400°. Line cookie sheet with foil and lay out bacon without any overlap. Set timer for 8 minutes. Continue cooking to your preferred done ness. No mess. No fuss, and no splatter, and no curled up half cooked have burnt bacon ever again. I have shared this with everyone I know and it never disappoints. Pinch to make a spout on one corner of the foil and save the drippings. Works every time. Your Welcome. 😊
Or place it in the cold oven. It can start cooking as the oven preheats.
Since someone told me this a couple years ago, I only cook bacon in the oven. So easy and less mess.
I cook bacon in the oven on parchment paper. It is wonderful.
Use parchment paper instead of foil it has less oil spatter which causes smoking from the oven.

Trent, if your back hurts when you wake up, it's probably your mattress. You should try a Sleep Number bed. The back support is the greatest.

Allie, get Trent to check the vent above your stove area. There is some discoloration, if that is your stove vent, it would explain it.
Trent a few years ago the rockwool was plentiful…. Since growing a certain green flower became legal. Rockwool is high demand because they use rockwool cubes as a grow medium in hydroponics.
I believe the rockwool cubes are in higher demand and they are not making as much insulation especially since the cubes cost much more than the same amount used for insulation.
Trent is one of those guys who grows more handsome as he matures. Allie, the filming and editing gets better and better. You do an incredible job. I wish you smooth sailing through the rest of your pregnancy.
Hey Trent, don’t forget your teeter inversion table you have sitting in your basement that will also help your back. I’ve been using mine now for about a year and it has greatly improved my herniated L5.

Just as a heads up, Rockwool’s factory in Grand Forks BC was on strike for the last few months but just returned to work. As per mfg, there was a 200+ day backlog of supply so who really knows.
I think y'all should place structural glass blocks in that wall section where Allie wanted "arched book shelves". Glass blocks will provide much-needed natural light to that hall way. You will thank me later!!

Maybe you could donate some of your extra building materials to a local Habitat Re-Store. Better than them sitting around unused and in the way.
That was my immediate thought when she mentioned all the stuff they couldn’t return. It’s what I do with excess house type items of any kind. HFH is a great place to donate to and shop at for house building needs.

Worldwide storage of raw materials for making the insulation. So companies are "bottle necking" deliveries everywhere to ease the pressure. Same situation here in Canada. We were told 3-5 weeks backlog. My hubby has a side insulation business and buys directly from manufacturers.
Also on top of that the demand for it is becoming greater as more homes are being built and the demand for more insulated homes with the ever rising costs of heating and cooling.
I did the same thing for my back. Chiro and massage. I switched to a PT and found I had become unbalanced side to side. Rt to left weakness. The pt did strengthening and stretching that fixed it and I have home stretching and strengthening to keep it in good shape. Try it and you’ll find the solution. I was told a back brace ids a no no cause it doesn’t strengthen the muscles. It allows the muscles to weaken farther
Winter is not giving up without a fight, I have been trying to pack up winter clothes but I keep having to drag out a couple of Items here and there .

The insulation shortage is an opportunity for Entrepreneurs that wish to promote Wool or Hemp Insulation..or rethink Buiding techniques alltogether, build with Hempcrete.
What I have seen is there North American Rockwool factories are at capacity and while China has enough it is very expensive to ship it here. Someone even commented that with the Baltimore port closure it would be even worse. Dunno. I have read there are 3 plants in North America, but another site says there is only one in the US.

Leo is so good at balancing & stacking items, all sorts of items into towers ... loved the 'big house' he built with the magnetic shapes in the previous video on the coffee table in the livingroom ... also loved the tower he built several times with the little pieces of wood in the addition ... he even tried to build a tower with Jennifer out of an empty milk carton and it looked maybe 2 empty juice jugs ... ( I think that was what they were ) ... he has great building skills as well as balancing skills ... Does Leo have lego sets to stack & build ? He would love those as well ... loved how he stacked the Play-doh containers on his little table ... he is so very smart !!! 😊❤😊

Itis so nice to have connections with people in the Building Industry Like Dean and Scott . Deans a craftsmen. And Scott being able to find the supplies you need. And seeing the blocks piled up by Leo hes going to be a huge help when he gets older.
Sorry to hear about Trent's back! Here's my story: I had lower back pain for about 15 years. Went to Chiropractic and PT. Pain killers, back rubs and even prayer just did nothing. Finally, went to my GP (MD) and confessed. He looked at my chart and said, "Do I know about this?" No, I have been to my Chiropractor for years, sometimes three visits per week. He was very gracious: said simply, "Chiropractors only treat symptoms. Let's take a look." In about two minutes, he had a diagnosis. Of the actual problem. And then he fixed it. Forever. Hope this helps -
You guys need to call generic and get them out to your house to hook up your home generator. That way, you will never lose power. The generator will run off your propane or natural gas automatically. When city power fails .
We build generec generators in our home town Berlin Wi….semi trucks full leave every day
My neighbor has a Generac whole house generator not cheap but with I’m sure with power outages being up in the mountains you won’t be on the priority list for repair if something happens 😊
We have a Generac nine seconds after electric goes off. It starts up. It’s whole house. It’s wonderful could not live without my Generac.
They are the popular whole house generator here in Alabama due to storms and tornadoes!

it is amazing how there so different regulations around the world. here in the UK, your hot water has to be between 140-154.4f (to kill of legionella bacteria)
Get your abdominal core muscles that support the back. Maybe start doing some things that build tone and strength at that location.

Trent: Regarding your back, if you have ever fallen asleep in an open lounge chair where your bum is cradled lower than your legs & head, do you wake up with your back feeling ok, or is it still sore? If your back feels ok, then you might just need to place a beefy pillow under your knees at night. I discovered that years ago when I was sleeping regularly in a fully extended lounge chair. My back was always sore after sleeping flat on the bed. However, I was able to go back to sleeping flat in bed, just with knees draped over a pillow. If your back is still sore in the lounge chair, then I'm stumped.
Allie: Regarding your anti-wasp paper bag. Pull up some YT videos about faux hornet's nests out of paper bags. I just used a medium sized brown lunch bag & some scrunched up plastic bags to really plump out the lunch bag. I closed it with a string tie & hung it from a hook under the eave. It has to look like a hanging hornet's nest (I chuckled when you hung that cute shopping bag on the wall). I've had one in front & one in back for a few years now, & the bees are pretty respectful of the faux nests.
To you both: Everything is looking great, from the growing baby bump to the addition coming closer to completion day by day. Soon-to-be Big Brother continues being a real cutey pie with a growing vocabulary.

I hate those hat water limiters on the tub. If you have a very big tub you need lots of hot water. Especially in a cast iron tub. They need to warm up to hold the heat.

You can wash those CAPS. Just stuff the dome so it dries in shape,instead of wrinkling up.
Rrockwool is by definition completley unorganic. It is however not at all as hazardous to your health as fiber glas is since the fibers doesn't break into as small fibers. It's still itchy like hell but you will not reduce your lifespan by doing it like fiber glas does.
20:34 get into the habit of putting things to be returned in the car right away so you don't forget the things.
That area is a skidooer - skier heaven . Something tells me once there done, its up for sale. Rockwool is highly saught after for its density and thermal properties by professional builders. They just prepay and buy more then they need . Who do you think will get it first?
Grand junction CO is only 300 miles away for insulation

It is so important to have the part on the bathroom hot water to regulate the temp from getting too hot. Many years ago, my Mom and Dad were staying at an older hotel, and my dad had soaped up his face and with his eyes closed he tried to adjust the water temp and turned the hot water nob too far. It was scalding him, he panicked and couldn't find his way out of the shower. He ended up with 2nd degree burns by the time my Mom ran in and turned off the water.
When will you resume Trent's Garage and when will you make a trip to mountain made vans and give us an update showing us a few of the vans you are working on at this time?
Please, Please, someone tell me why the skid steer is not snowblowing the driveway or the route to the back of the house. That was the orig plan I thought.
Skid steer only has a plow, not a snow blower attachment!
On the allocations it just depends on how the manufacturer or supplier decides to do the allocations. They could provide based on previous usage and give a certain percent of that usage depending on what they can maintain. Or they could provide based on how much was produced and provide equally across all customers so everyone gets something. Just depends. Then the distributors who get it to the end customer could also allocate in a different way than the manufacturer/supplier allocated to them. Hard to know what they are doing exactly unless they will tell you.

I would have installed the thermostatic Valve , outside of the North Pole, outside the Frost prone areas..in an Inside wall Upstairs..more accessible via a ply trap in a closet...
