He was *very careful* to make it seem like the GB gets these ideas neatly dropped into their brains by Holy Spirit, free from ANY outside influence, suggestion or consideration - when that is impossible: if they were guided solely by God in this process, there wouldn't be any mistakes - at least, not in their teaching. (Their personal behavior might be another story. ) And, apparently, only the GB is allowed to have "lively" debates and speak what's 'on their hearts' when making massive decisions that affect other people's lives - but those people better not be doing the same!

Ever read Ray Franz's books? He tells a story about needing to research something so he went to the bethel library and his uncle Fred said "why don't you see what [some Christian commentary] says about it?" He wrote that he was taken aback. Sure there are a lot of references to manuscripts and concordances in the literature, at least there used to be, but it was an indication to him that the faithful slave wasn't getting direct communication from God.

I want to keep up with the chariot's movements, so let me see if I have this straight. Before 1920 only colporteurs had to do field service reports, rank and file Bible Students didn't have to. After 1920, everyone had to turn in reports. Then, in October 2023, we revert back to only colporteurs (pioneers) reporting and rank and file jw's not having to. I think I understand, the light can be bright, then it can dim, and then it can be bright again. Gotcha. Mother isn't always right, but she's never wrong.
Well all JWs (Bible Students) became Colporteurs because it was like an MLM. They got paid more by getting other people to sell magazines too. So the more you recruit, the more you make.

I'm Curious what the organizational similarities are at this time that resembled the 1920's that led them to decide this. What are the cycles of the organization? I've been homeless for quite a while and staying with my mom. She mentioned a couple of weeks ago that if i got reinstated i could continue staying with her. I wonder if this new light about df'd people will make it easier for her to have company over. Technically she could get in a lot of trouble letting me stay there but i think she's kept it on the down low. She's always believed that Jehovah will make everything right for everybody and doesn't think I'm damned to the fiery gehenna but maybe by loosening up she will feel better. She told me about the text message that they don't have to turn in time anymore. No idea what she knows or thinks about Tony Morris. I don't discuss anything with her out of respect and I'd never try to talk her out of taking that su1icide card out of her wallet but it bothers me. I think Watchtower had been paying attention to the rebranding of other pseudochristian groups like SDA and LDS are trying to keep up with their celestial chariots to keep modern day preaching going. The classic was when someone joked about the challenge in remembering 'what we believed then' and 'what we believe now'. Talk about summing it up in a soundbite! The idea of 'increasing light' means adding more to an existing truth. Eg telling a young child that mummies and daddies make babies that grow in mummy's tummy is still true even when later sex ed fills in the gaps. New light should not be that the old light is wrong. That we used to be sure flood people and those in Sodom and Gomorrah were gone, no chance, annilated etc today we announce that they can be resurrected, and what we said before was wrong (but we should not be dogmatic - after decades of dogmatism). Definition of New Light is a one day sunrise event. It is not about sunset after sunset back into darkness. As the day gets brighter and you see better, this means outside. How much is there to see in the house as the day gets brighter. Of course inside daylight is better than your inside night; but as God's light gets brighter, what do you want to see more-clearly, man-made things inside the house, or God's things outside. They always imply Go's things are inside the house, not outside and they fail to see a temple you go into to school yourself and come out with what you found. You dont live in the temple. Paradise inside the house or church or temple or org inst the paradise outside that gets destroyed from having spiritual paradise all wrong.

He will speak plainly to us by making the scriptures plain to us. There is no group of men in between us and God in The New Covenant because that is the part God found fault with. That curtain separating a special group of people God used and the rest of us regular folk was torn wide open when Christ died. No more separation and no more men being a channel to pass down Gods teachings to us. "No more men teaching their neighbor to know God. "
I grew up Catholic and besides Evangelicals JWs were the ones we got the most criticism from, it’s interesting to see some of the parallels between the Governing Body and the Magisterium as they both see themselves as being guided by the Holy Spirit in some instances if I understood correctly

Ever read Ray Franz's books? He tells a story about needing to research something so he went to the bethel library and his uncle Fred said "why don't you see what [some Christian commentary] says about it?" He wrote that he was taken aback. Sure there are a lot of references to manuscripts and concordances in the literature, at least there used to be, but it was an indication to him that the faithful slave wasn't getting direct communication from God.

I want to keep up with the chariot's movements, so let me see if I have this straight. Before 1920 only colporteurs had to do field service reports, rank and file Bible Students didn't have to. After 1920, everyone had to turn in reports. Then, in October 2023, we revert back to only colporteurs (pioneers) reporting and rank and file jw's not having to. I think I understand, the light can be bright, then it can dim, and then it can be bright again. Gotcha. Mother isn't always right, but she's never wrong.
Well all JWs (Bible Students) became Colporteurs because it was like an MLM. They got paid more by getting other people to sell magazines too. So the more you recruit, the more you make.

I've been homeless for quite a while and staying with my mom. She mentioned a couple of weeks ago that if i got reinstated i could continue staying with her. I wonder if this new light about df'd people will make it easier for her to have company over. I saw the post by Self Aware NPC that linked to reddit and the decoding of the code, so listened to the meeting raw, even though a never JW I got how huge their statements were. The classic was when someone joked about the challenge in remembering 'what we believed then' and 'what we believe now'. Talk about summing it up in a soundbite!
The idea of 'increasing light' means adding more to an existing truth. Eg telling a young child that mummies and daddies make babies that grow in mummy's tummy is still true even when later sex ed fills in the gaps. New light should not be that the old light is wrong. That we used to be sure flood people and those in Sodom and Gomorrah were gone, no chance, annilated etc today we announce that they can be resurrected, and what we said before was wrong (but we should not be dogmatic - after decades of dogmatism). Slowly revealing the truth doesn't mean that part of it is fallible and the other only partially true. If they are not the perfect source then I am equal to them because I can do just the same thing.
Yes a partial truth plus added insight = bigger view of truth. It is like going from mummies and daddies make babies that grow in mummy's tummy, to the more detailed sex education. The lesser truth is still valid but missing details that are later added. It totally does not mean old truth is now wrong, that once we declared people as beyond resurrection hope but now we say it is possible.

Definition of New Light is a one day sunrise event. It is not about sunset after sunset back into darkness. As the day gets brighter and you see better, this means outside. How much is there to see in the house as the day gets brighter. Of course inside daylight is better than your inside night; but as God's light gets brighter, what do you want to see more-clearly, man-made things inside the house, or God's things outside. They always imply Go's things are inside the house, not outside and they fail to see a temple you go into to school yourself and come out with what you found. You dont live in the temple. Paradise inside the house or church or temple or org inst the paradise outside that gets destroyed from having spiritual paradise all wrong.

This is exactly why God made a New Covenant because He found fault with His own religious organization and leaders misleading others with their teachings, so He lovingly made a New Covenant where "no man will teach their neighbor to know God." Hebrews 8:6-13, Jer 31:31-34
God will teach those who turn to Him, Himself. He will personally teach those who Ask Him and turn to Him for knowledge.
Jesus is mediator of this New Covenant so as we ask God our questions while searching scriptures, Jesus is the middle man, between us and God, with authority over us, who will teach us himself and use the Holy Spirit to pass along his answers and teachings to us. He will speak plainly to us by making the scriptures plain to us.
There is no group of men in between us and God in The New Covenant because that is the part God found fault with. That curtain separating a special group of people God used and the rest of us regular folk was torn wide open when Christ died.
No more separation and no more men being a channel to pass down Gods teachings to us. "No more men teaching their neighbor to know God. "
They do the same thing in all corporate business meetings in every business worldwide!!

I grew up Catholic and besides Evangelicals JWs were the ones we got the most criticism from, it’s interesting to see some of the parallels between the Governing Body and the Magisterium as they both see themselves as being guided by the Holy Spirit in some instances if I understood correctly
