I missed a meeting once on a Thursday. I had never seen THE OFFICE before because it was on Thursday nights, a meeting night at the kingdom hall. It was the episode where Micheal grilled his foot on his George Foreman grill. When I tell you...I laughed so hard and in a way I hadn't laughed in years...I started to skip Thursday night meetings to watch the office and it changed my life. I was happier and it was the beginning of my "waking up" and tip-toeing out of the cult. A BREAK IS EXACTLY WHAT ALL JW NEED & DESERVE ❤

    • @sparklecanada0112

      A break is important, yes.
But just as important, is the need to remove Any and All opportunities for WT Org or JWs to Influence or Intimidate/Gaslight that Person Ever Again.
You don't want it to be merely a "break/rest" but a Complete Removal(Body, Mind, Life Circumstances). Zero Connections. Zero Boundaries Crossed.

      Wow! Hallelujah.
The weight of pharisaic teachings suddenly dissolved making way for actual Biblical truth.
My sister (a disfellowshiped JW, that still goes to meetings) said
“I’m sure as hell that hell doesn’t exist!”
      The irony of that remark!
I told her to think about what she just said.
I always said that I’d convince her of the rapture, then she said she had a rapture dream the night before but didn’t have any feeling toward it.
I told her that I became born again and believed in the rapture before I’d even opened the Bible at all in a long time:
I’m not going to Question what God puts on my heart.
Out of all that I said, all she can respond with was “You don’t even call Him by His name, Jehovah!”
My response to that was, you can’t enter the Kingdom without recognising the King.
It’s always a back and forth battle with them.
I rejoice that out of all of it, the Lord knows my heart and that I was defending His honour without discounting His deity.
Who are we as the creation to question the Creator?!
During the last ‘memorial’ video that they watch prior to the event, something (among much apostasy, & blasphemies) that was said during the message, was the elder calling Jesus a creature. 😤🤯😱
And calling Him ‘Michael’, Satan’s brother. 😠
That was in March and steam is still blowing out of my ears and nostrils!!
The seeds are always being replanted, and within time. The Lord will make it happen.
blinded to this scripture, even though they know that it’s speaking of Jesus. Who Was Who is, and Who is to come.
      Revelation 4:8 KJV
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, **Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.**
      Even so, Maranatha 🙏

I use I AM from King James Bible because most believe Jesus is God. But that is not what it means. The meaning of the name Yahweh is not limited to the related verb found at Exodus 3:14, which reads: “I AM Who I AM ” In the strictest sense, those words do not fully define God’s name. Rather, they reveal an aspect of God’s personality, showing that he becomes what is needed in each circumstance to fulfill his purpose. So while the name Yahweh may include this idea, it is not limited to what he himself chooses to become. It also includes what he causes to happen with regard to his creation and the accomplishment of his purpose.

Yahweh is from the Samaritans. John 4:22 Samaritans had their own temple! Within the region of Samaria, in the city of Sychar, was Jacob’s well. This was the location of Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman, who asked, “Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” (John 4:12). Later in the conversation, she brought up a centuries-old controversy: “Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem” (verse 20). “This mountain” is a reference to Mount Gerizim in the central Samaritan highlands, the place where the Samaritans had built their own temple, which they considered the true temple of God. John 4:22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, because salvation begins with the Jews.

Never once could I ever remember as an active JW feeling happy or as if I was living the best life ever. I almost always hated my life and just felt inadequate and depressed as a born in JW. It is a destructive belief system that only fosters doubt and depression. They claim to be the happiest people on Earth because they have the "truth". Nothing could be farther from that. The JW's are so repressed and caught up in beliefs they cannot even explain. Imagine believing billions of humans are going to die because they just didn't get dunked in water and say I believe in Jehovah. 🤔

If you can convince the person to not be involved with the Cult and Other JWs, in some way, for a certain length of time; They will no longer "Need" that Fix.
Just like People will do whatever necessary to remove the "Dealer" from having Influence and Access to their "Loved One/Friend", It's just as Imperative to Interrupt that "Relationship" with the WT Org Pushers. It's Life and Death Serious.

The Burnout of a Good Life
Nero of the Roman Empire worshipped the Sun God Apollo! Even if Jesus did not exist they would follow Sun, Moon, and Star Worship! Revelation 17:17
The Roman Empire allowed Christianity but created a Pagan Jesus. Constantine made Christianity the main religion of Rome, and created Constantinople, which became the most powerful city in the world. Historians link the advent of Christianity to Sol Invictus partly because December 25 marked the so-called Feast of the Unconquered Sun before it became officially recognized as the birthday of Christ. The Winter solstice, alternatively called Yule or Sol Invictus, is a pagan celebration Emperor Aurelian established in 272 CE. Aurelian strengthened the position of the Sun god Sol Invictus as the main divinity of the Roman pantheon. He declared Dec. 25 as the birthdate of the “Invincible Sun” and made the day a feast-day.
Deuteronomy 4:19 And when you raise your eyes to the heavens and see the sun and the moon and the stars-all the army of the heavens-do not get seduced and bow down to them and serve them. Jehovah your God has given them to all the peoples under the whole heavens.

A recurring thought has crossed my mind for years, that rather told me long ago that they are missing the whole point. All these years they have been on the hamster wheel with one goal in mind. Making it into the new system and gaining eternal life.
Pause and think, their entire belief system is about what they hope to get out of it in the long run.
What if they were to believe that this is all there is. What if they were thinking of being moral and kind and having gratitude for what they have been given. A beautiful planet to be born and lived upon for the years they live. So many have died at birth and never even had the chance to know what a tree is. But those of us that have lived have gotten to enjoy and experience living, for good or bad.
If the only prize was the life we have, how many would be spending that time in gratitude that they got to have that life.
Would they be praying and giving thanks for that? I think the greedy running after a future something they hope to get out of it is their real stumbling block. Not just JWs but religions in general. They have to dangle a carrot. If there is a creator that cares for us, I would venture to guess that the deity would be judging more on what was in the hearts of people and approving the people who enjoyed and appreciate what they have right now. Not how well they could chase after the carrot.

I so agree with this! I left after we had several blizzards and there were no meetings for 8 weeks in 2007. It’s more about the constant hamster wheel of activity and indoctrination that keeps people in. When people have that interruption in their patterns of thought and behavior, it allows them to question what they believe.

Thanks for the episode Wally. :)
Basically, a total break of 1 month was enough to get me out. In 1998/1999 my work on implementing the Euro currency in the bank I was working at and handling the Y2K 'bug' required me to do a lot of overtime and miss a lot of meetings & field service - and I was too damn tired to do any 'personal study'. The result? ... Even when I could go back - I didn't want to. I started to see things differently. I started to see other "worldly" people differently - that they weren't all "the enemy". Previous to that I was a one-time bethelite, a MS gunning for Elder, and a pioneer. ... It didn't take long for absence to reawaken my dormant BS filters. I've been happily out ever since (first as a PIMO then formally disassociated later). Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful in waking up my last surviving relative. ... But who knows, hey?

Not saying it’s a happy ending, but I feel mad that my life could’ve been much better if I hadn’t associated with these ppl for 17 years.

It was so freeing to be able to say: “I don’t know!” once I was out of the WT and not have to constantly KNOW the ridiculous “truth”. We’d make up answers out of thin air because we HAD to or suffer “Bloodguilt”! When I was a little Catholic school kid, the nun would ask me some Catholic religious question and I’d just shrug my little shoulders and say: “I dunno!” and she’d whomp me! Then I grow up and get into WT and same thing, but we HAD to pretend the recruit was stupid as a doorbell and we wouldn’t know how to answer a question but we HAD to answer, so we’d make something up because we would get WHOMPED by WT elders if we couldn’t answer! The freedom now is wonderful: “I dunno”! I remember one guy at a door asked: HOW MANY types of animals did Moses bring onto the ARK?” We’d think and debate and be looking up scriptures. Then give some wobbly answer. Then he’d laugh and laugh and simply say: “Moses didn’t BRING animals on an Ark! NOAH did!” Hahaha.

The Witnesses I speak to seem to have a good knowledge of particular parts of the Bible, and there are several of these so it starts to look like a good general knowledge, outside of that though they seem to be pretty blank.
They are good at directing people to their favourite parts and when that fails they do their tag-team distraction techniques (when in groups) to divide your attention. If that doesn't work then the move tends to be to regard you as an opponent and thus close the conversation down.
Once you get to that last part the conversation is pretty much over, so I tend to allow them to stay mostly in their comfort zone before ushering them towards the weeds again.
The cart thing is both good and bad for this. they can't easily leave like they could during door-to-door (so you can take your time), but they seem happy just to stand around looking Witnessy - so they can take their sweet time too..

Being with a group of people trying to maintain this routine causes one to be socialized to it, thus making it "normal". Reading the Scriptures, understanding the history and the culture of the accounts, helps to form a better foundation for personal responsibility. If JWs "take a break", the elders will begin to ask questions and think he/she is not spiritual enough which could lead to disfellowshipping and shunning. Read Lloyd Evans' book "The Reluctant Apostate"; in the book, he said that when he stopped going to meeting on a regular basis, the elders began to harass his wife as to why he was not coming to meetings and going out in service. Another thing that could happen is soft shunning, so that might not be the best way to approach waking someone up. Furthermore, it also does not work if the person's entire family/friends are in the cult because he/she will have no one to turn to which will leave the person in a permanent state of being PIMO.

I think we're making a big mistake in reading too much into what was said at the annual meeting. They never said you can willfully leave with the intention of coming back at the last minute and still be saved. If I recall correctly, they said "maybe ... we don't know" in the case of those that genuinely drifted away or genuinely got expelled because of falling into sin. They never intimated that you can willfully scheme to go back to the world with the intention of returning at the last hour and all will be fine. They're not even saying that this is absolutely the case in regard to those who drifted away or were expelled. They said 'we _don't_ know'. That gives them enough room to go back to the hardline position of making sure you're in the ark (the org.) at all times because again it's maybe, maybe not. 'We simply _don't_ know'! Tomorrow they can say:
"Well is it wise to slack off, or maybe even stop serving Jehovah altogether with the thought that you can always return when the Great Tribulation breaks out, and Jehovah will forgive you? Do not be deceived, God is not one to be mocked! Jehovah knows the difference between a genuinely lost sheep that drifted away, and one scheming and plotting to cheat him out of the devotion and service he is due. Never presume on Jehovah's mercy or abuse it for selfish gratification. It will not work!"

    • @BuizelCream
      @BuizelCream 11 месяцев назад

I like how this is the most balanced take in this whole commentary section. This really was about a warning against those who intentionally scheme and cheat their way to paradise by joining back at the last minute. The motivation of the individual is key. Plus, it is unfair to those who genuinely drifted away due to life circumstances and personal struggles.

lol. you can listen to these videos and still believe in the great tribulation? Your mind is as locked as a bank vault. And I feel so terribly sorry for you. Why don’t you look up how many times Jehovah’s Witnesses have changed their doctrine as to when the great tribulation is coming? The world was supposed to end like five times by now I think. They remove all the false “prophecies” aka bs meant to scare you so they can control you, and then make up new ones. And you believe it all. why? Why are you so afraid to think for yourself? you’re going to have to read in study. You are going to have to remember what critical thinking is and not be afraid of it. There is no evil in information.

No one is trying to scheme or cheat a god they don't believe in to get into a paradise that's made up. This is just about con men adjusting their false prophecies to buy themselves more time for fear mongering. It's got nothing to do with people who wake up from the lies of the cult. Nobody who wakes up wants to get back in. Silly

I couldn’t hold my horses! That idea of withdrawing a bit was back in the 70’s when you couldn’t even THINK of taking a break! Your relatives and door-to-door people HAD to be saved through a Study because there was no second chances back then! Now? I’d run and keep going and I’d LIVE and I’d celebrate Christmas!!!!

Its true this is the best way to wake up from jw mindset. I stop going regularly a year before before covid. and it was because I really didn't like people from my hall and it gave me social anxiety and depression. So I made up excuses to not go and when covid happened and meetings were on zoom I was so happy and relieved. Because I no long had to make up lies or excuses of why I was not going to meeting. I felt guilty though so I tried zooming after a whole year and watch the covid updates and I just couldn't see it the same anymore. I had not gone in so long that when I did again it was so clear something was not right with Jw org.

Is "spiritual routine" a new jw catchphrase?
ETA a new question- I heard a couple years ago that there was new light along the lines of no one who isn't an active, baptized witness isn't going to make it through Armageddon. I might be wrong. But that was my understanding. Does this new light you're twlking about negate the previous one?

For some like me, this and my own curiosity and realization of the bible and the religion's injustices and erroneous beliefs helped me wake up (even listed as agnostic in my hospital records last visit!) But for some like my mom, who dont believe in the "imperfect men" and shoo away any negative talk cause she's seen god answer her prayers when no one was there to care for us when we was by ourselves (family either dead, cut off or belligerent, manipulative, and argumentive), doesnt care what is happening with others in the org as long as it isnt her, and would never let anyone take away her faith....yeah that is a super hard nut to crack even if she isnt as dutiful as the more zealous witnesses. (My dad's side and her are chill and don't shun and celebrate holidays and are nice. But their apathy toward the org and their reliance on god and the only family they have keep them there....i don't know really how to properly word it typing it out but my mom and my aunts are the best people and the worst witnesses (bad witnesses are good lol) but they especially my mom would never give it up and even said she doesnt care if god kills her cause she is good with herself and her choices and her life was better with god than without (sort of. But anyone can make better choices regardless of religion, but yeah). It really worries me cause i cant talk about it with her. We agree to disagree but do not discuss religion at all and it works most of the time, but times like this even if a brother or gb member said something, if i said anything to the contrary, even from the bible, she'd wave it away and leave the room. So how do you even begin to crack the hardest nuts like that? She is a good person, the best mom ever, but how can you begin to even try to talk when it is met with not listening and immediate dropping of the subject? Sorry if my rambling and typos are atrocious, i am not used to speaking out about this stuff even if ive been PIMO since 2018, but this video made me think i may have a chance to appeal to her, but knowing my track record....i am afraid to try again.

I agree it’s the most logical argument for helping JW’s wake up but I tried this on my family and a couple of people I felt it might help but if their walls are up there’s literally nothing that will spark them. They think they’re making room for Satan in their lives by using critical thinking. I wrote a letter to my sister with the words “if something is true it remains true under the most scrupulous investigation” she sobbed me into the elders and I ended up in a preliminary JC

Technically, it is encouraged in the JW organization to critically think for themselves what beliefs one holds. It's even encouraged in the Scriptures itself (Proverbs 2:11, 14:15).
A common mistake that tends to happen for a not fully intellectually mature JW individual when faced with information that could present doubt is that he might misalign the points of "developing thinking ability" and "safeguarding thinking ability" (Prov 3:21). Both of these types of critical-thinking decisions are like polar opposites in an axis. They can't be done at the same point in time. An individual has to choose when to "develop" or to "safeguard" what they already know. Thus, when faced with information that could bring doubt, an immature JW's tendencies is to give in to the fear of uncertainty, and that alone is a huge barrier that prevents him from thinking something critically.
One cannot focus being thoughtful and introspective while being gripped by feelings like fear, and this is simply not faith-strengthening to them, so it's easier to dismiss doubts by shoving it under the rug or throwing the responsibility onto someone else rather than making it their own. This is why a lot of JWs mistakenly conclude that critical-thinking is Satanic (contrary to the Scriptures they claim to live for) because it takes real skill to develop critical-thinking abilities, which not everyone on earth is naturally-able to do (some are feelers than thinkers for example). So, how much more the JW population?

You can’t wake up someone who doesn’t want to be woken up. The governing body can tell them to cut one of their fingers off as part of their worship and they still pick up their bags to the next meeting 😩

This organization ruined my entire life for their dogmatic beliefs back in the 80s to now just say that it doesn't matter anymore. And they are becoming more "mainstream" and televangelists. Hate is strong word, I feel rage and rath. My family stopped talking to me for almost a decade. I guess I wasn't done processing this "new light" cause that hurt when my brain finally processed what all this meant. Thanks Wally. Everyday is a good day to not be in a cult. Shout to A-aron and SP tv 📺 🙌🏼

I agree ,the annual meeting pt2 is gonna be a revelation on its own.was with a family member the other day and had a very close call, let's just say they've been on their "break" and they started going on about the annual meeting and all of this information just flooded out of them ,I was shocked that they knew so much .
So I had to steer the convo a different way so they didn't self sabotage 😅😬 but for me that was enough to show me how much of an effect this new schmite from the governing boobie has had on pimi's. I mean personally I always use the bible if a witness questions something I do ,it's a pretty good handbook to debating a jw. But this new info is gonna be hard not to talk about

For me, I left the religion when I was 18, 26 years ago I still believe that the religion was the true religion. Ironically, my father kicked me out the house, because he was the presiding overseer, and he was having sex with some woman in the congregation, and I was the only one who knew about it he had to get rid of me to protect himself, which caused me to not care, and do whatever I want to be rebellious one would say.. the only reason I was able to wake up from the nonsense was when I dated this girl who was Muslim, but she wasn’t practicing and we would half our discussions about religion. So I wanted to prove to her. Her belief was wrong, and then that process I prove that what I believe was wrong, and the longer I was the way the more I became truthful to myself, but that wasn’t until almost 10 years after I left the organization before I started to truly wake up, I don’t see how a few months can help people wake up but if it does more power to them, I would hope everybody can get out of this religion, even though that’s impossible
