“Introverts are constantly pressured to be extroverted.” I'm an introverted person and I once thought of being an extroverted to be more social, but I never did that because I couldn't do it. Although, I still haven't accepted myself for who I am, I'm aware that changing myself as someone that isn't me will cause pressure. To be honest, a part of me doesn't like myself for being introverted, but no matter how much hatred I have for myself, there's one thing that I will never do, and that is to live as someone else.

Here are some more tips for living a happy introverted life: 1. Self-Awareness: Understand and accept your introverted nature. Recognize that your need for solitude and quiet time is not a weakness but a natural part of who you are. 2. Solitary Activities: Engage in hobbies and activities that you find fulfilling when done alone. This could be reading, writing, painting, playing a musical instrument, gardening, or any other creative pursuit. 3. Social Relationships: Focus on quality over quantity when it comes to social interactions. Cultivate a few close and meaningful relationships rather than spreading yourself thin. These connections can provide the depth of connection that introverts often seek. 4. Boundaries: Learn to set boundaries and communicate your need for alone time to friends, family, and colleagues. They will likely understand and respect your preferences if you explain them calmly. 5. Self-Care: Prioritize self-care activities that recharge your energy. This could include taking walks in nature, practicing mindfulness or meditation, taking relaxing baths, or simply spending time in a cozy and comfortable environment. 6. Schedule Balance: Find a balance between social engagements and personal time. Plan your schedule in a way that allows you to recharge after social events or busy days. 7. Online Communities: Introverts often feel more comfortable expressing themselves online. Joining online communities or forums related to your interests can be a great way to connect with others without the pressure of face-to-face interactions. 8. Small Gatherings: Instead of large parties, opt for smaller gatherings where you can have more meaningful conversations and connect on a deeper level. 9. Alone Time: Make alone time a regular part of your routine. Dedicate specific times during the day or week for activities you enjoy doing by yourself. 10. Challenge Comfort Zones: While it's important to honor your introverted nature, occasionally stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to personal growth. Gradually challenge yourself to engage in social situations that align with your values and interests. 11. Practice Communication Skills: Introversion doesn't mean you can't communicate effectively. Practice active listening, empathy, and effective communication to enhance your relationships. 12. Reflect and Journal: Introverts often have rich inner worlds. Spend time reflecting on your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Keeping a journal can help you process your emotions and insights. Remember, the key is to embrace your introverted nature and create a lifestyle that aligns with your needs and preferences. It's perfectly okay to enjoy your own company and find happiness in quieter moments.

I always felt like I had a hard time growing up as an introvert because a lot of my friends were extroverted always wanted to hangout for hours with me. Don't get me wrong I love my friends but it's like they didn't understand that I didn't have the mental capacity to play outside for 8 hours on a Saturday, and that I could only socialize for so long. I used to feel mean or like something was wrong with me because I didn't want to hangout with them all the time. Until one day I stumbled across something called introverts and extroverts which helped me so much because I understood I wasn't weird but just got my energy from being alone. Idk if anyone else can relate to this story but I hope it was relatable lol.
I found out I’m not an introvert recently and I don’t have social anxiety either, I just have a trauma response from being vulnerable around others stemming from an inferiority complex. Once I was able to really get into it and unlock this part of myself I’ve been happier alone because its more of a choice and not me isolating myself and confining myself to loneliness
I'm glad the timing worked out well for you. Finding happiness in your own company is a wonderful thing, especially when it aligns with your introverted nature. Just remember that while solitude can be fulfilling, it's also important to strike a balance that feels right for you. Is there a certain activity or hobby you enjoy that brings you happiness during these moments of solitude?

And not to care about what society wants from me. Thank you so much. And being alone makes me more happy then being around other people. I LOVE my alone time and prefer it over being social.
I agree, accept yourself first for who you are and not what others want you to be, if they don't like who you are it's because they don't like themselves if you like yourself you'll like other people without judgement.... Just be who you are as an introvert....
I completely understand where you're coming from. Building deep and lasting connections takes time and trust, especially for introverts who value meaningful relationships. I'm glad the video had a positive impact on you, especially during a moment when you were feeling deep in thought. If you ever want to talk more or share your thoughts, I'm here to listen. Is there anything specific about forming friendships or personal growth that you'd like to discuss?
I love being alone. I am a very introverted introvert. I have my friends, a handful of people I call my best and closest friends. But I don’t hang out with them much and we always pick up right where we left off, it’s natural. I am a writer, I need time alone, to work. You can’t write books with an apartment full of people all the time. I crave being alone. My relationship of five years just ended, and on bad terms too, sadly. So here I am, my name down on an apartment, ready to live my life in my single era, as an introverted introvert. Sometimes I feel like people don’t get the introvert life. But I just love and want a quiet, slow life where I can easily hear myself think. Can anyone relate ?
If that what introverted introvert is, idk what I am even. No friends, no relationships, never wanted to have either. And I learned the hard way to keep it secret.

I'm an introvert and all of this is true! I often think about every little thing in life and having every decisions the best way possible, people do look down and me or secretly hate me and insult me behind my back even though I help them with a lot of stuff (even as far as teaching them a whole language almost everyday) and i still give them a chance, i feel stressed every day because of them and rethink my live choice. also you forgot to mention that introverts text more in group chat (on social media) than anyone else (or is it just me?)
Can u please make a video on how introverts can have purpose and contribute to better the world. Struggling rn bc I want to make a difference but I'm so introverted it's super sad..
While our happiness is dependent on several factors, studies show that extroverts, the gregarious types, tend to be happier than introverts. But this doesn't mean that introverts aren't happy.
I love this channel so much, it feels great to feel understood. Also, am I the only one who, when told they're no fun, think of a great sarcastic comeback ...hours later in the shower or laying in bed? And of course in the moment shrug it off.
I prefer coming up with one on spot, simply because I abhor show-offs and want to put them in their place as much as possible, so that they drown in their insecurities. I stand for my introverted homies- somebody _has_ to, after all.
LOVE this. Needed to see it. I’m an extreme introvert where I feel like if I spent every moment alone I’d be happy and I feel like an alien because of it.
Glad to see this. Been doing this for years and yep, I'm a happy introvert living to the fullest. I may be not that successful, don't own my own home or a car and not being pressured by having my own family but I'm definitely happy and I do enjoy the small quality things in life. And yes, I may be missing out on a lot of things but I'm perfectly okay with it. I don't live my life to fulfill the expectations of the society or even my family but I live my own life. I may have a small circle of friends but not pressured enough to create new ones. And yes, a lot things may and may not happen in my life but that's enough for me to worry about. And another tip. Spend some time over a hobby that you really love and that you feel productive doing that hobby as well.
i can agree. I care about many things, and yet im happy with just food, water and anime. Sometimes walks and drawing, a book here and there, and i feel statisfied. Just enjoying calm moments whenever i can.
Actually,I’ve been doing this lately before and it really helps,I’ve been enjoying being alone, I used to be all sad but now I see why it’s better,I can read what I want, watch what I want and it gives me the opportunity to let me unleash my voice in either ways, reading out loud and singing,I personally spend my days reading and writing and that makes me happy without being worried of being judged ^^
I forced myself to do things that, as an introvert, I'd avoid at all cost. Due do that, it's been around one year I'm feeling a lot anxious and my mind is just broken. Recently, my boyfriend opened my eyes. I need to accept myself. I must be the way that makes me feel more comfortable. I don't have to talk much nor all the time. I must go on my steps, feed my mind and race my eyes, instead of racing my thoughts and talk. I must be inside my bubble again if I want to be okay, and it requires me to accept myself. I'm recovering. Love you psych2go

It would be cool if they could do a video about how to act confident as an introvert. I'm a young middle school teacher, and I've always looked up to my energetic and extroverted peers as the "golden standard" of teaching. However, I found out long ago that I can't force myself to be that way or it comes off as clearly fake. I have a more chill down-to-earth style, and I think some students appreciate it, but the more energetic guys don't seem to. In fact, some seem to disrespect it. How should we walk the balance as introverts to assert ourselves without acting bubbly and fake?
I have now written down each key and posted the video link on my notes app. Oh and the 1st key is my most favorite that I never thought of before. Thank you.
For me being an introvert makes others think I am shy and at times I am because when I do try to add something to the conversation or try to say ANYTHING they think I am weird, so I have learned to just liston to what they have to say.
@@Psych2goyes oh my gosh. definitely think that I should do what I want to do since I typically go with what others do, even if it doesn’t make me happy lol
Everyone's path to happiness or being content is different. Being a relatively happy but very introverted person myself, I found the following made the biggest differences (and many go with this vid.) 1: Stop caring about what others think of you. If you're introverted, weird, different, that's cool. Find your own crowd or just go it alone. If you try to be something you're not, you'll feel hollow and empty, even if lots of people will accept you, because it's not who you feel you are. 2: Have lots of hobbies and interests. They keep your mind active and give you something to look forward to. 3: Reward yourself. Since you might not have a large circle of friends to give you praise, buy yourself a treat, have a nice dinner, get that object you want, or take a vacation. You're in charge of yourself. 4: Find your tribe; even if that tribe is one other person or a hundred people, not having to justify who you are is liberating. 5: Accomplish something. It can be small or monumental, and it could garner tons of praise or just be a job well done you pat yourself on the back, but accomplishing things makes you feel valued.
I had always forced myself to be an extroverted person , and even blamed myself and hated it for being introvert . when i realized that this doesn't work that way and living an extroverted life doesn't make me happy but just making me fake and upset . I started to accept myself , i even phased out my extrovert friends who didn't respect my peace zone and how my life is going as an introverted person . I focused on myself and on what makes me happy , totally got rid of thinking that i can never be alone and happy , and started feeling the happiness just by going in a simple evening walk alone or just listening to music and enjoying nature vibez ! As mentioned in the video , appreciate the little things and just be yourself to feel free , satisfied and happy
As an introvert, I honestly thought making friends wasn't a big possibility. But, I have online friends as well. I feel comfortable and unpressured by them! Also... are we not gonna talk about how amazing that singing was? 😯❤️ 1:50
Thank you so much for that. Also, I would either be a lonely lion or a black sheep than a popular white sheep. There are people who keep telling me that I'm either too sensitive, too emotional, and can't take a joke. Many of them never apologize for how they treated me emotionally, but blamed me for how I reacted. Because of this, I try to be indifferent (as if indifference is safety), yet, I am judged behind my back (but I do not care anymore. I just want to repair myself). They say I am toxic and called it ego, but for me (and even us), it is SELF-RESPECT. Any fans of the Peaky Blinders here?
I always love references in your videos, Encanto's Luisa, signs number 2 and 5 have names of Disney's songs. Not only those, calm voice and cute animations are attractive as well, oh and this video's helpful for my introvert life. Great video as always, keep it up 😊
Boy, do I understand that last point, all too well! Society (esp. entertainment) has a way of not only exalting extraversion, but convincing everyone from birth that you secretly ARE an extravert, and that if you're not, you aren't "being yourself." It's a lesson in false individuality that wasted a lot of my youth and led me down several wrong paths.
Thank you... From the core of my essence, thank you Psych2go. You have saved thousands of lives, including my own, with these videos. If I could repay you in any way, please notify me. Surface Pressure is my favorite Encanto song. I listen to it a lot because... I lost count of how often I had to deal with surface pressure due to being autistic. I can't appear autistic or else I'll marked to be a weirdo, or at least is what people who don't know autism tells me. I hate it. I also hate looking strong. I'm actually weak and unable to deal with a lot.
I JUST had an experience today: My lab group and I went on a boat ride on a lake (it was GORGEOUS). Everyone was engaged in conversations nearly the entire time, was I was the only one who was quiet ( we were out on the lake for 4 hours). My introverted self could not handle the lengthy interactions and I was VERY exhausted at the end of it. When I got home, I beat myself up for not talking more with people- even when I found their conversations to be more trivial. I always feel pressure to be WAYYY more upbeat and hyper engaged around extroverts to the point where it feels fake and disingenuous. I think most people have noted that I am NOT an extrovert, even closest friends and family. It’s nice to simply breathe and enjoy life in your own way (observing and listening, taking in your environment or internally processing thoughts and emotions)… but it sucks that this way of life (introversion) is deemed “uncomfortable” and “unacceptable”…all because we live in a society that uplifts constant verbal engagement with others. Note: I’m currently learning how to remain true to my introverted nature while showing care to others who are more extroverted, to avoid appearing standoffish (which honestly… most of the time I don’t really care that much, but it’s about their conversations not THEM- making that distinction known is difficult as the introverted one in the relationship).
Giving myself permission to do things that make me happy has been a Perennial struggle for me. Also leaning into my nerdy side has been a challenge. It's getting easier. I'm off on Fridays, so those are for me. It's been a vital mantra.
Yeah, this is good stuff. I constantly have my immediate family trying to shove social situations down my throat, it's not fun. I can talk, just not to more than one person at once. 😢😅
Because of my disabilities, play with toys and watching shows and videos meant for a little kids makes me happy and making sure that I get enough sensory stimulation

Completely relatable.. thanks for sharing!
I felt that way growing up XD
Too relatable. Extroverted friends, especially while at school don't seem to understand that there are introverts in this world
I found out I’m not an introvert recently and I don’t have social anxiety either, I just have a trauma response from being vulnerable around others stemming from an inferiority complex. Once I was able to really get into it and unlock this part of myself I’ve been happier alone because its more of a choice and not me isolating myself and confining myself to loneliness
I absolutely needed this as a sad introvert
Why are you a sad introvert? 😢
Why?😢
😢
I hope this person answers this question..
@@Psych2go I’m a introvert and im sad bc my quietness makes my friends act like im not there 😢
Shall we talk about how you sang Luisa's song?
Seriously...that was awesome ❤❤❤
and i love your channel so much😊😊😊
Right in time, now I don’t need to interact with people but I can be happy
I'm glad the timing worked out well for you. Finding happiness in your own company is a wonderful thing, especially when it aligns with your introverted nature. Just remember that while solitude can be fulfilling, it's also important to strike a balance that feels right for you. Is there a certain activity or hobby you enjoy that brings you happiness during these moments of solitude?
This video has been more helpful than i thought. I often find myself wanting to enjoy most of the free time I have but still end up not enjoying it as much as i should've. Thanks for the tips ❤❤
I don't have the desire to fit in with society anymore. I love being an introvert and an HSP. it's because of this RUclips page I was able, and still am, to love who I am. And not to care about what society wants from me. Thank you so much. And being alone makes me more happy then being around other people. I LOVE my alone time and prefer it over being social.
We live in a happy life as an introvert just be calm and relaxed.🤗❤️
That's great to hear :) did any of these tips resonate?
@@Psych2go absolutely yes! I love your video friend! ❤️
@@Psych2go it resonated very much to me. Completely. ☺️ gladly liked.

1:28 I started humming “Surface Pressure” from Encanto and boom you start talking/singing about it 😭😭😭🙏
My mom and dad are introverts, and so am I, so they understand how alone time can be good for us!
I agree, accept yourself first for who you are and not what others want you to be, if they don't like who you are it's because they don't like themselves if you like yourself you'll like other people without judgement.... Just be who you are as an introvert....
Right in time. I really need this.
Perfectly timeda I'm an introvert, and I'm only very comfortable with people who I've known for a LONG time. I'm talking weeks, months, and years!
I completely understand where you're coming from. Building deep and lasting connections takes time and trust, especially for introverts who value meaningful relationships. It's great that you know what makes you comfortable and that you're willing to invest that time. Is there a particular experience or story you'd like to share about forming these connections as an introvert?
@Psych2go yes, my therapist. I've known her as an incredible woman and friend since I was 4. She hemmed me during the worst times in my life and helped me explore the creative side that I did not know about.
Haha,
Was a happy introvert ever since I was 13,
Now I'm 26 and I have to say,
I am way more a happy introvert.
Since I am a introvert I really needed this

It’s happens to me, yep!
As a kid I didn’t know there were “introverts” and “extroverts” I was told there was social butterflies and shy people, but after actually learning about myself recently I’ve discovered that I’m an introvert and not a “loner shy girl”
You don’t know how much I needed this video.

I'm scared to be with my friends because.
When I go to them. I don't know their reaction. I can try. Thank you for video.
You can do it! We're rooting for you
Thank you. It's 11.22pm here and I was deep in my thoughts sick of my life of not having any real friends but this video reminded me that it is okay
I'm glad the video had a positive impact on you, especially during a moment when you were feeling deep in thought. Remember, it's absolutely okay to have moments of introspection and to sometimes feel like you lack close friendships. What matters most is your own journey and personal growth.
Totally relate to you 😊

Trying to be a happy introvert 😊
How many of these points did you resonate with ?
@@Psych2go Most of them 😄
I'm an introvert and all of this is true!
I really love this channel💗💗

Glad to hear it! Would you like us to make more videos on introversion?
@@Psych2go I watched all of your videos anyway, so yes
While our happiness is dependent on several factors, studies show that extroverts, the gregarious types, tend to be happier than introverts. But this doesn't mean that introverts aren't happy.
Books, music, cat, food, computer, wifi, hobbies and a quiet house. Ah, life is good.
I love this channel so much, it feels great to feel understood. Also, am I the only one who, when told they're no fun, think of a great sarcastic comeback
...hours later in the shower or laying in bed? And of course in the moment shrug it off.
I prefer coming up with one on spot, simply because I abhor show-offs and want to put them in their place as much as possible, so that they drown in their insecurities. I stand for my introverted homies- somebody _has_ to, after all.
@@AntonYadrov777 Well, I thank you for your service
Although I'm not really an introvert, I actually find this video really helpful.
Thanks for making this Psych2go! :)
LOVE this. Needed to see it. I’m an extreme introvert where I feel like if I spent every moment alone I’d be happy and I feel like an alien because of it.

As an introvert myself, i loved this one a lot❤❤❤ thanks so much, can you more videos like this one pls
I just need a hug, thats what a lot of these videos remind me.
Thank you for the video ❤. Cute love this.
that is no fan-like letter but only by seeing those type of videos and praticing irl makes me feel so much relief
Wow your singing shocked me 😳 love ur voice
i can agree.

Your singing voice rocks
i would love the subtitles again i liked them.
2:00 WOW! You sing VERY NICELY!!!
As a introvert myself, I always enjoy little things in my life whether it be just eating my favourite meal or watching Netflix in a cozy atmosphere
I like sitting in the library listening to music so peaceful
Oh shoot I was just looking at my subscribed channels and it says this was posted a minute ago 😮
Edit: omg the singing is amazing ❤️
We hope this video helped. Did you resonate with any of these points?
@@Psych2goyes oh my gosh. definitely think that I should do what I want to do since I typically go with what others do, even if it doesn’t make me happy lol
Therapy only introverts can understand....thank you so much
ive began to enjoy just learning to vibe with myself and its actually so helpful
I'm literally alone these days, and so i needed this content alot in my life. Thank you so much
I had always forced myself to be an extroverted person , and even blamed myself and hated it for being introvert . when i realized that this doesn't work that way and living an extroverted life doesn't make me happy but just making me fake and upset .
We must take the small victories where we can my introverted kin.
As an introvert, I honestly thought making friends wasn't a big possibility. But, I have online friends as well. I feel comfortable and unpressured by them!
Also... are we not gonna talk about how amazing that singing was? 😯❤️ 1:50
Thank you. It was a nice description of the finding of true happiness.
Any fans of the Peaky Blinders here?
her singing voice is so soothing 💖🎧
Perfect timing!! Only last night I was thinking about one source of stress, trying to live up to *other* people's standards.
Most heroes are villains under their skin, but I think I can fully believe that you are a hero. Remember God loves you and you are Awesome. Thank you for saving me from the one person I hate the most. Me.
I'm actually weak and unable to deal with a lot.
xou channel is like a loving comforting hug :D thank you for all the awesome content
I didn’t expect a musical note, especially…it’s nice.
Note: I’m currently learning how to remain true to my introverted nature while showing care to others who are more extroverted, to avoid appearing standoffish (which honestly… most of the time I don’t really care that much, but it’s about their conversations not THEM- making that distinction known is difficult as the introverted one in the relationship).
i love your arts
OMG NARRATOR SINGING VOICE GIVES LITTERAL CHILLS
Giving myself permission to do things that make me happy has been a Perennial struggle for me. Also leaning into my nerdy side has been a challenge.
It's getting easier. I'm off on Fridays, so those are for me. It's been a vital mantra.
Yeah, this is good stuff. I constantly have my immediate family trying to shove social situations down my throat, it's not fun. I can talk, just not to more than one person at once. 😢😅
Because of my disabilities, play with toys and watching shows and videos meant for a little kids makes me happy and making sure that I get enough sensory stimulation
