Pikmin 4 is the first major Nintendo game to use Unreal Engine, which definitely has it perks when it comes to modding. Most settings such as dynamic resolution, texture quality, shadow quality, foliage, draw distance, and framerate.

By uncapping all the unreal engine settings related to framerate, resolution, and graphical fidelity, you can get some really good results on emulator.
It’s a bit buggy rn but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a more stable version ready by launch.
God this game is gonna be so good when it comes out. Big modding capabilities, big game, AND it’s pikmin out of all things. The full release can’t come any sooner man.
I can't wait for a difficulty mod like the other pikmin games

the switch may have a tegra but it performs a hair above an xbox 360

I just think it's crazy that you can take the already amazing graphics of pikmin 4 and make them better!

I am curious with how custom level mods are going to look here. Those are fun mods to see, especially when they have custom treasures & custom enemies. 🤩

since the game uses Unreal Engine 4 I wonder how far modding is gonna go since lots of people have experience working with it being like the most popular game engine

This is amazing, the game looks stunning. Its not even out and you can already run it at 60 fps (something you cant do with pikmin 3). Im very excited for the future of Pikmin 4 emulation and modding, thank you for this amazing video. (Quick question, could you tell me your PC specs? Just for curiosity, its ok if you dont want to!)

Yep! Nintendo unblocked it. They’re still blocking the 3DX night mode mod unfortunately but this is better than nothing!
Idk honestly I prefer the 30fps in Pikmin, it feels too fluid in 60 if it makes sense

@@gunnadahun a mod that returns the classic Pikmin bubble hud and replaces the cyan used everywhere with more color variety would also be legendary
@johnclark926 I miss the bubbles so much. In theory it should be easy to do, since it's just replacing textures. The only thing would be that it'd be a lot of work to replace the graphics for every menu. It wouldn't be too much work to just replace the basic gameplay HUD and font, though.
How did you do this? Just wondering, this looks a lot better than the patch people are using for the full game.

WHOA!!!!!! pikmin 4 modding is already possible????? i wonder whatll be next. also i NEED someone to recreate pikmin 2 and 3 in pikmin 4 (why not pikmin 1? frangrams made a video on it. its getting remade already, as in pikmin 1 in the official game)
edit: that pikmin 1 remake in pikmin 4 might be like a reboot of pikmin 1, so ig pikmin 1 modding in pikmin 4 would also be cool!!!!
It’s pretty obvious that the animations were designed with 30fps in mind and the looks a bit robotic in higher frame rates

so is it actual 60 or is it the game being forced to run 60 and so things run double speed? cause if its actual 60 then this is so amazing
Some animations run double speed like the landing animation at the beginning but the vast majority of it is true 60 fps

You might be able to get some of the more minor modifications working on console if you overclock it. But I wouldn’t count on it
@@gunnadahun you can get it to run 60 relatively consistently on real hardware by dropping the LOD quality and running at 720 or lower (plus OC ofc)

Wow this looks great! Not sure if its the game or the youtube video but it buffers just a bit. I wonder if setting it to 45 or 50fps would help?
Yeah there was a bit of stutter at the beginning. Still playing around with the settings.
It seemed to fix itself as it went on tho
@@gunnadahun I think that’s how YuZu works, I think it tries to see what textures are in use: and then make them more high quality.

@@Boschi_102also each individual Pikmin needs their own survival meters (hunger meter, thirst meter, stamina meter, disease meter, etc) that need to be maintained at all times or else they’ll die instantly
And viruses only way to get rid of a virus that a pikmin has is that you need to oof that pikmin before others get infected
Way less cooler than your first mod
Nothing can beat that
