Wow! I wish I could come and see your layout in person. It looks amazing the rock work on the tunnels is is superbly done, and that backdrop on the Carolina room makes it look very realistic. And you have an amazing collection of engines too. RT
Hi Eric, I'm 17 and have recently bombarded all of your videos, I have had a love of trains from a young age and your layout is facinating and your product reviews keep adding more and more and more trains to my wishlist to have someday. Also, I'm sure you get plenty of requests but my absolute favourite train of all time is the steam Class J Norfolk and Western and if you happened to get one and do a review I would be thrilled :D Best wishes from Indiana, land of corn and no train stores that aren't at least an hour away (but the first time I went to one I was amazed...and I was 16 so I probably didn't look like I belonged there..)
Hi Eric • I am pleased you but up a link to this video on the OGR Forum. As always I enjoy your up dates and the up coming home tour. It will be very cool to watch the home tour on the web cam. I hope that Brad from Brad's Trains can be your assistant again. • Cheers from Michigan
You should try to make the abandoned tunnel just a plain bore through the rock with no concrete or stone portals similar to Roseville Tunnel on the old Lackawanna Cutoff in NJ. That would add variety and set it apart from the other tunnels on the layout.
Excellent Eric! I know how that's feels to redo track work but sometimes it helps and you feel better that you did- excellent scenery work and ill have to look into those webcams!
Great update. I always enjoy progession the layout. Another idea for the Carolina Room would be an old boat house by the tunnel, coming from the hallway room. Just an idea
interesting to see Eric has (had) the same issue I do: to small curves, although I have it on a H0 layout where a UP Heavyweight RPO doesn't make it and in N scale with a German InterRegio which has interior lighting and derails not because the coaches can't make the curve, but because the added resistance on the axles for lighting makes it too heavy, causing it to be pulled off the tracks.
You are so good about lessons learned. I spend a lot of time on my layout just thinking, and mistakes still happen. As to your display case by the staircase, instead of hinges, why not make sliding doors, like on display cases at the store?
Layout is looking great. On the display cases, have you though of have sliding doors on the two case then the doors. Might make it easer for n opening them.
if you want to do something more interesting with that old tunnel idea, you can store a piece of old railroad equipment into it, the railroad museum by my house has an old tunnel, one of two of the first two tunnels west of the Mississippi! they have the boiler and chassis for an old steam engine stored in there, and the tunnel its self is so old if they tried to remove the steam engine from there the tunnel would cave in because of the vibrations from the movement of the trains, but just a thought to maybe built an old MoW car or something in there if and when you build that abandoned tunnel in the main room
Hi Eric. Love looking at your video blogs! I have a much smaller layout but I really have gained a lot of knowledge from you. Was wondering where you get your trees? Thanks for your help. Mime
Love your vids. 1/4" plex is heavy. If you get 3/16" polycarbonate instead of regular plexi you will save weight. It's harder to cut but a circ or saber saw work well. If weight isn't a problem go laminated glass. Not gonna get scratched up when you clean it. If some one kicks it glass won't damage your equipment.
Eric, would a signal amplifier help boost for the legacy command system signal instead of additional antenna's in each room. Channel Master makes a great amplified splitter.
its looking nice. and I wanted to know how long an o-72 curve is befor I buy and have it hang off my layout. because me and my friend are doing something for our church. but again your layout look gr8 keep up the good work
I think the layout is looking fantastic, Eric. Appreciate the updates. Also, some food for thought...in the Carolina room, why don't you design and construct a custom oil refinery? I think it would look spectacular on your layout.
Hey Eric, I have a question. I have and MTH DCS Commander, but i have recently added more track to the layout and there is not sufficient power, so I bought a Lionel power block. How do I connect this so that I can have more power to the track?
Hey Eric, I was wondering. Was there only one type of steam turbine engine ever made? Or is there different kinds of steam turbine engines? I really like the video you did on that train.
Heric hello! My name is Gilberto Luizello, I'm from Brazil So, been a while since I watch your videos and I can follow the progress of your wonderful layout. I could not resist and I looked for his Webcans and they work very well! Wonderful, I here in Brazil, and I can monitor your beautiful work! I also have a layout scale "O"! But the technology I use is still Postwar and Conventional! This week I received my newest "toy"! A HUDSON 4-6-4 locomotive with Lionel Technology LionChief Plus! And I'm happy to say that she ran fine using the Transformer mode (conventional) and REMOTE Mode ... Fantastic ... I think this will be the future of my Layout ... The Legacy is very expensive at the moment! Maybe one day I also put in my webcans Layout, loved your idea! Thank you for your attention and excuse my poor English hugs Gilberto!
You mentioned, "when you build your next layout". Are you planning on moving in the future or tearing that one down and starting over?! That is a beautiful layout, and I can only imagine the labor than went in to it..
Hey Eric! I have been recently watching some of your videos, and also recently purchased a Lionel Legacy Command starter set, and was hoping to set it up to control conventional locomotives. In order to do this, I also purchased a PowerMaster Bridge and a Power Adaptor Cable. However, I did notice that I may need a PowerMaster itself in order to operate the system. I am absolutely lost and could use some help to set this up. Can you help me? Thank you so much!
Unfortunately, I've never used my Legacy system to run conventional engines so I'm probably not the best person to ask. I know it involved the use of a powermaster, but that's about all I know. Sorry.
I'm sure there will be plenty, me included. Georgia is a bit too much of a drive from Indiana. I'm sure there are some from farther west or north that would love to come see it in real life but are just too far away
what do you mean believe it or not i have a family? We know you need time with your family and hope you still have time with them. Its perfectly fine with us viewers
Great video Eric! Super excited for the open house. I hope I can make it. It would be awesome to meet you. Also, it would mean the word to me if you checked out my channel!

Great update Eric, everything is looking good and I can't wait for the open house!

Excellent work Eric!! Great work on that curve! KUTGW!! Thanks loads!!
Incredible layout I love it
Great update. Since I'm in Maine, I'll visit your open house on the Web Cams. Thanks for sharing.

Eric, I love the work you did on the mountains, the details, I'm building some mountains on a G-scale layout, I need some ideas.
Yet another professional presentation. How about a video some day with regards your collection?
You are so good about lessons learned. I spend a lot of time on my layout just thinking, and mistakes still happen. As to your display case by the staircase, instead of hinges, why not make sliding doors, like on display cases at the store?
Eric can you please do a review of the mountain-type seen on the bottom shelf when you are showing the new display case? Awesome video
We could use a lay out update soon love those updates!
16:41 You have an MTH NYC Subway work car?!
Layout is looking great. On the display cases, have you though of have sliding doors on the two case then the doors. Might make it easer for n opening them.
Very busy man. Good job - keep it up!
I like your videos a lot and I can't wait till the next update!
I was thinking, for that abandoned tunnel track, you could scratch-build a mock-up track instead of using pieces of useful track.
if you want to do something more interesting with that old tunnel idea, you can store a piece of old railroad equipment into it, the railroad museum by my house has an old tunnel, one of two of the first two tunnels west of the Mississippi! they have the boiler and chassis for an old steam engine stored in there, and the tunnel its self is so old if they tried to remove the steam engine from there the tunnel would cave in because of the vibrations from the movement of the trains, but just a thought to maybe built an old MoW car or something in there if and when you build that abandoned tunnel in the main room
I have been asking my parents to see your layout in person because I am a huge fan of your videos. One day I will be able to make the open house
Very nice video.
Love your videos Eric!
Love your approach to kids. Made it your problem and solved it.

in the old abandoned tunnel. Put a light and echoed steam locomotive chugs for a ghost train please
Hope all is okay with you and family. Haven't seen a video from you for a while.

Will you be at the train expo in Galveston tx this weekend?
Are you going to put track on your custom display cases?
Hey Eric, I have a question. I have and MTH DCS Commander, but i have recently added more track to the layout and there is not sufficient power, so I bought a Lionel power block. How do I connect this so that I can have more power to the track?
Awesome, Nice video!
Wow Eric U Have a Great
Layout :-)
Hello Eric!
Have you ever thought about the possibility of using Super Streets to adorn their urban centers?
You need a rail fan place on your layout and do you have Dehumidifiers in your base meant
At 1:35 the caboose disappears.
Hi Eric, I have that same Coke fridge and love the videos! Great job!
I wanna go to the piedmont pilgrimage so bad... To bad I live in MN :(
Can you upload the pictures you took of the frog in your next video? That would be awesome!

You should reveiw a NKP Berkshire
Hey Eric, I was wondering. Was there only one type of steam turbine engine ever made? Or is there different kinds of steam turbine engines? I really like the video you did on that train.
Hey Eric, I was wondering if the next time your run trains in this series could you use a BNSF Combo and cantainer cars?
Is there one in the los Angeles area

Eric, great blog video. Quick question: what is the siding in the Carolina room for? (Just to clarify the unballested one). Thank you. Great layout!

You mentioned, "when you build your next layout". Are you planning on moving in the future or tearing that one down and starting over?! That is a beautiful layout, and I can only imagine the labor than went in to it..
Not anytime soon, but I won't be in this house forever. It won't be for at least a good 10 years.

Just out of curiosity Eric, do you work on a railroad?
