So excited for the new season! Let's hope they can keep up the nostalgia and energy going for a whole season. Let me know what you thought about the first episode below!
The Night Stalker serial killer that was in this episode, showed up in Hotel to attend James March’s Halloween party as a ghost, thus linking 1984 to Hotel.
I’m down as Margaret as the killer. I think Brooke is Mr.Jingles’ daughter. And the hippy has been time traveled to the future. That’s why he was surprised that the Camp was being reopened. He never remembered it being closed.
That’s just what the stories say. Has that been confirmed anywhere besides a campfire? Did he take the orderlies ear? Maybe he’s trying to save the counselors from Margaret.
“So when my husband met his untimely death, I took some of his fortune and re-opened this camp.” Idk if those are exact words but close.... she killed the hubby for sure.
Montana is the final girl, and is put into witness protection. She changes her name to Sally and develops a really bad drug problem. Later in life she ends up moving into the Hotel.
@@shadowsdclxvi3062 meh... I mean, he really wasn't THAT good. His "career" lasted barely over a year before he was literally chased down and beaten by a bunch of civilians and gifted to the police.
Maybe she plays the mother of the wirxh she plays in coven. Notice the time traveler hiker. In hippie wear. And all the lines he says to brooke. He thinks its brookes future daughter ( the character from coven Madison is it?) He mat be a warlock who performed that going back in time spell to stop the killings in 1970 but failed then came to 1984 to stop the second spree of killings but failed.
Definitely think Xavier has a part in it. He knows about how fresh or old a wound is...He also gives off a sociopath vibe. I think this season is gonna be really good. Emma Roberts is doing amazing already
I think the night stalker is entirely in Brooke’s head. I think over time it’s revealed they all have “issues” like the Olympic guy with his anger management issue. Also, I think the guy they ran over with the car MIGHT have time-travelled from 1970 somehow. He looked more 70s than 80s, and was confused by the camp “reopening”, like for him it had never closed down.
Or maybe he's a ghost. We know they can be tied not just to buildings like the murder house or the hotel Cortez or the Roanoke house but territories like the Roanoke forests. Maybe he's trapped in the camp forever.
Rachel Smyth Yeah it was, but I think that was kinda the point. During the entire episode they were paying tribute to a lot of different slasher movies
I'm thinking maybe Brooke is hallucinating a lot of what is happening...the night stalker at camp, the phone ringing, the Mr. Jingles stuff...I don't know, it's a thought.
I love that if you are new to the show Margarette being the villain is a bit of shock, but for people who are regular AHS fans, they saw it from a mile away
Richard Ramirez AKA “The Night Stalker”, first appeared in Season Five, ‘Hotel’, where his older self (by now a ghost after dying in prison) was a guest of James Patrick March’s Devil’s Night, so we will definitely get some connection to the Hotel Cortez this season. Also, Leigh Emerson, the Santa Claus killer in ‘Asylum’, may be connected to Mr. Jingles since it makes me think of ‘Jingle Bells’. EDIT: Also, since Sarah Paulson is guest starring this season, I think she may reprise her role as a young Lana Winters and be reporting on the murders at Camp Redwood
I think Margret being the actual killer is too easy of a twist to guess. She is suspicious about something though, maybe she killed her husband to get the camp and one day hope to lure Mr Jingles back?
And we love daddy, too!! I'm digging it so far. I think it's going to widen out into a Big Brother/mind control/illuminati story and something like a satanic Bohemian Grove. I'm here for it no matter what! I'm loving Billie Lourd and Cody Fern this season, Emma too, their star power is shining. Why do I love Leslie Grossman in a Sarah Paulson wig doing Sarah Paulson speeches so much??? I'm also stoked about Angelica Ross' jump from Pose, I loved her as Candy.
I think Xavier is connected to Richard Rameriz and was sending him to people from his class' houses and that's how he ended up at Brooke's house. Think that is who left the message, he said he knew where Xavier was going so he likely ended up at the call looking for Xavier, not Brooke, she was just a bonus. Also wondering what happened to Brooke's fiance (also like the fact that it is a double nod to her break up with Evan Peters).
I honestly had mixed feelings about this episode upon first viewing. I love 80s slashers so I was super excited that this season was going to be based off that genre of horror. By the end of the episode, I got a Roanoke vibe meaning that these first couple of episodes are going to end and then the “real show” is going to begin. I’m thinking either a fantasy (due to the license plate of the fan) or a tv show/movie within this season. After watching this theory video, I can say my feelings are no longer mixed and I really like this episode lol. You pointed out a few things that I missed and now the episode seems a lot more intriguing!
I don't think there will be another Roanoke theme. They know how badly that season went down. It's generally regarded as the worst season. No need to bring anything back from that.
I agree with you!!! My dad and I said the same thing and have been looking for this comment! If you notice in the beginning the characters intros look like a movie and then in a teaser from awhile ago two teens are watching tv in the cabin and watching the same scene of when Brooke ran to the phone in the tv show, on their tv. It’s for sure a movie or tv set and they’ll say cut and everyone will go back to LA
You keep forgetting to mention Rita as a suspect . She mentioned the Hawthorn hospital and also mentioned "Ive never lost a patient yet" when the kids bring her the hiker. She also says " i'm here for the kids" @10:28 She also knows every detail of Mr. Jingles back story and coincidentally the dead hiker in her office. Just my theory.
Right? I mean if you are going to give only one reference about her Family Ties is the way to go...or even at least mention that she is Jason Bateman's sister
There is a strong possibility that there is more then one killer in this season but dose anyone think that there is a chance that they are all working together?
At first I was thinking Emma could be the killer but the twist would be she has multiple personalities. So when she thinks she sees Mr.Jingles it's really her. Like Tom was in Bloody Valentine remake. Then again I don't think some things would add up. The phone call could been in her head but then again Xavier answered it prior and I think Emma's character was by him. Night stalker stuff could been in her head.
I thought that for a bit too but But than I remembered they did that in Hotel with the Ten Commandmends killer already so I dont think they will do that again and Brooke is very much like the final girls of 80's slasher movies where nobody believes her until shit hits the fan.
@@Zikkar of course. She could heard the story before or when heard the story it gave birth to the current killings. That's if she's not right in the head. She doesn't gotta the original killer to copy him.
I have a feeling we are watching a movie. That introduction to the cast, makes me suspect and you pointing out the titles on imbd. You do have thee best breakdowns!🖤
I think the hiker is not from the year 1984! Look at his clothes. The big reveal might be that there’s some type of time portal in the woods...and I think he might have been attacked by the jingler in a different year but managed to escape through the portal hence why he was so disoriented and perplexed when Emma’s character mentioned that the camp was “re-opening”!
As we all know AHS likes to give things away in the opening credits, has anyone else noticed the dots under the name? John Carroll Lynch and Matthew Morrison both have to set the dot under their names we already know that John Carroll is playing a killer does this mean that Matthew Morrison is the other one? Just curious to see if anyone else is paying attention as well!
I'd agree! So far Margaret really gives those "actual killer" vibes. There's not one shot of Jingles actually cutting off an ear (apart from the opening where one does not see his face) and the lost boy's ear was also cut off before his death. Also, the opening scene had the victims arranged in a peculiar manner while the escaped Jingles is not shown moving around corpses for demonstration. Furthermore, there was no light at the door in the opening scene and no open eyes of the corpses unlike in the new camp leader's story that stresses this image. There is definitely something not adding up yet in her story but I think there will be another plot twist. It's never this "easy".
The Hiker is a ghost. He kept dying and dying trying to escape the place but ends up going back like trapped ghost. Mr. Jingles was just framed. He does have a psychosis of collecting ears so when he saw the dead bodies in the prior 70's redwood camp, he collected their ears without realizing he will be framed for it. The reason why the trio who was having threesome heard the keys jingling is because Mr. Jingle's job is to check cabins at night, thats why he has the keys. When he was chasing Brooke, he was trying to warn her about Margaret. He killed the gas guy because back in the 70' s when he was arrested, the gas guy and the camp cook witnessed against him saying he is the killer. Margaret is the real killer in the 70's. She is an over religious person who thinks people needs to be cleansed of their sins. She knows Jingles is obsessed with dead people's ears, so she framed him. Victims were stabbed in the head if you take notice, but she wasn't. Which means its a self inflicted stab wound. She framed Jingles and now Jingles is out for revenge. Her plot is just a red herring since the night walker is another killer on the loose among Xavier who is her son btw. She will kill the detective in Episode 2 when the detective insisted on closing the camp. (Emma finds her body btw) Richard Ramirez a.k.a Night Walker is a cult wannabe who praises satan. He is after Brooke because she is a collector. She collects jewelries from dead people. But he's another person trapped. (You will know what i mean). It will be revealed by a very famous AHS actress that they all murdered someone. Chet killed someone out of anger. Montanna killing a rapist which she actually seduced. Nurse killing when she pretended to be a medical expert. Everyone killed someone. But now they are trapped in Redwood just like everyone else. Then there comes reincarnation. One of them gets to live again and they all choose Brooke. Brooke wakes up in alternate reality where she is the same nice woman. Xavier is gay and Montanna is his sister. Chet is an aerobics instructor. Ray is in love with Brooke. Ray will convince them to go to Redwood. This time, Margaret is the nurse. Rita is the owner of the camp. Mr. Jingles is a cook. While Trevor is Richard Ramirez. She doesn't remember anything. Killing happens again and season ends with Brooke running for help inside a cabin with new teens thus implying a never ending loop for her.
I'm watching the 7th episode currently and just remembered that of course, Think Story has covered this season :) Yeah, I'm late as usual but unless I'm willing to do some internet magic I have no way to watch the newest season of ASH earlier. Anyway, there are a lot of things I don't particularly like this season, but overall the tone and the 80's vibe is great. I love the intro a lot, this time they have really changed it to fit the theme. Bringing Ramirez in to the season is great a great idea and Zach Villa is doing a good job. Cody Fern is a hot sob who knows how to act, like always, but I'm not that excited about Emma Roberts, she has always struck out as a one dimensional actress.
It's off to a good start but apocalypse started well also and it went downhill toward the end imo , Just hope this season maintains this level throughout the season
I was 14 and 1984. I can’t tell you how excited I am to watch this. I lived through the big hair, the spandex, the music etc. etc. I loved it!!I’ve read other places a lot of people didn’t like it they said it was campy(No pun intended!)I think Its supposed to be. I think it supposed to be like one of those awful 80s horror movies that I loved. Maybe you have to be old to appreciate it LOL. I can’t wait for the rest of the season
@@tears3194 hey I'm triggered. You could have just said guard or hospital staff. Hes the only hospital staff that got killed so why you gotta add black to be specific when it already clear enough? Fuckin anime weirdo
My favorite season already. I'm watching all the 70s/80s horror lately. They are going for it with this season. They're completely ripping off Friday 13th but I dont care.
Can't wait to solve this mystery together with everyone. Dose anyone think that that there will be a supernatural element to this season? if there isn't I hope there is more then one killer with lots of twist and turns. Thank you Think Story you brought a lot to my attention but I didn't catch word "Satan" on the end phone call. All I could here was jingling and havey breathing and it creeped me out >_>. When I get a chance I will listen to that again. Yes that that is a nod to the killer in the leather jacket but it might be a reference to Cody's character in S8. Each season has nods of the seasons in the past.
I'm starting to think that since the hospital being "open" allowed the copy cat, I'm sure the word got around about the details of his crime so when jingles escaped so did his copycat
The Nightstalker mentioning satan is less likely a crossover to previous seasons and more just because he was an actual serial killer in LA at the time. Richard Ramirez was even mentioned in the Hotel season. Surprising that wasn't mentioned at all here.
I think it's very possible that Jingles is NOT evil. What if he's going there to try and save everyone from the real killer, who could be Margaret? She's obsessed with sinners and it seems very convenient that the first victims of the original cabin in 1970 were "fornicating teens". Also, the "hiker" could be a counselor who showed up to Redwood early and maybe dealt with Margaret before everyone else. He wigged out when Brooke told him he was at Redwood and he found his ear missing BEFORE Jingles got there. I do wonder about that damn cook, though. We only saw her for a minute, but she's out there and we should def keep an eye (or ear) on her... ;)
Nichole Beamer I really like this idea, but jingles also killed the man from the gas station really violently so he’s not completely innocent, and if he was just trying to help save people from Margaret he wouldn’t have killed him
@@velvetamore TRUE. But then, we also don't know that Roy (gas station boy) didn't have some hand in Jingles being put away. I definitely agree that he's not some great Savior (who is in AHS?), but so far the people we have SEEN Jingles kill have had some connection to him or his past. The orderly was clearly a dick to him (I think there were some split-second scenes of Jingles being abused in the Institution in the clip for next week). Plus, Roy knew what happened at Redwood - what if he helped the police find Jingles after the murder and Jingles was just paying him back? Could be that he's more of an Anti-Hero (one of my FAVORITE character arcs!) working through a hit list. I also think it's weird that "Roy" was wearing coveralls with the name "Ed". Coincidence? Not likely in AHS... This is all fun speculation, of course! :p
This episode was so entertaining for the 80' horror movies fan I remain. I even caught myself dancing at their radio :P Yep, Margaret is definitely a weirdo and could be the killer. Or maybe not. I've go that feeling that we are getting tricked here ;) So I can hardly wait fot the next episodes!
Come on now LOL Justine Bateman was not "known" for her single episode in the anthology show "Tales from the Darkside" - She's *known* from Family Ties. That's like saying Tempestt Bledsoe is known for her episode of "Monsters" or Carol Burnett is known for her role on "Mad About You" or whatever.... There is no dance montage, it's aerobics.
@@DubExp I have no idea why you are calling me the name of a rapper who is on trial right now who is naming and shaming people. I made a factual correction, who exactly am I throwing under the bus? These things are nothing at all alike, you are trying too hard to be trendy. Run along little one.... /pats you on the head
I agree; super pumped episode... some obvious connections (it can't be THAT obvious). I am intrigued, I am sitting on daddy's lap waiting for next episode...
Thank you so much for these theories!! I would never have come up with them! Would DEFINITELY make this season a HIT! ESPECIALLY if Michael comes back (in Remariz head at least!) Keep up the great videos!!
I agree with the whole "Margaret is the real killer" theory. The way she was talking about sin and "the decadence of this deceade" reminds me of another former employee of another infamous summer camp. Either that, or she and Mr. Jingles were partners, but she threw him under the bus when he was caught. Also, and I REALLY hope anyone hasn't posted this yet, I think the hiker was a ghost of one the original victims. I mean, look at that headband. That is a hippie's headband. And finally, the Night Stalker had a name; it was Richard Ramirez (I think). He was featured in this series before, remember? It was during the the Halloween episode of AHS: Hotel as one of James Patrick March's (AKA my favorite of Evan Peter's characters) 'students.' Of course, he was played by actor Anthony Ruviar (who played the most incompetent sheriff ever in my opinion on season two of Scream: The TV Series). But still, it still should've been pointed out on this video.
Someone suggested that the cutting of ears is a throwback to Pepper from AHS Asylum. Pepper was put into Briarcliff for cutting ears off. Apparently Pepper had a brother.
We're also missing that the night stalker was a real serial killer - Richard rimarez where the timeline and actions of him line up with the ahs version were he would have a pentagram on his palm, say satan leads the way for him and mainly attacked in the LA area - also they have a similar look
I'm all for the theory that they are stuck in a time loop. The hitchhiker looks like he's from the 60's and said he tried to stop it bu it's happening again. Had his ear cut off, and it's all centered on this camp. Either way, This season looks promising.
So excited for the new season! Let's hope they can keep up the nostalgia and energy going for a whole season. Let me know what you thought about the first episode below!

I'm sure they will. They're gonna have some A1 music and pop culture references all season! I could tell just by the opening theme
Montana rear ending Xavier in traffic is a funny throw back. Billie Lourde’s character literally ran him over with a car in the last anthology.

Ramirez was known to rob his victims before killing them; demanding jewelry from a young woman makes the most sense for the attack.
He was also a theistic Satanist hence "Swear to Satan." which was a phase the real Ramirez would tell his victims. "Swear to Satan you won't scream."

@@Zikkar of course. She could heard the story before or when heard the story it gave birth to the current killings. That's if she's not right in the head. She doesn't gotta the original killer to copy him.
I was thnking same thing
Bring back male crop tops , omg Chet 😍👍
Like Johnny Depp in the original Nightmare on Elm Street. Grrrrrr.....
They have been back for 4 years stop being basic
Treyt Williams ew , I’m not basic and no they aren’t BACK back🙄
Treyt Williams ew , I’m not basic and no they aren’t BACK back🙄you mouse
Look at my Neck the hashtag was #boysincroptops2015 hun
I think the female doctor that showed up at the asylum is a reference to Dr. Loomis from the Halloween installments.
And I am here for it. A gender role reversal I can get behind.
All while the ward owner looked just like Dr loomis
Dsutphin91 Ds looking like him and functioning as him aren’t the same thing.
"The Son of Satan" MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD! xDDDDD
Daddy is back praise be
I have a feeling we are watching a movie. That introduction to the cast, makes me suspect and you pointing out the titles on imbd. You do have thee best breakdowns!🖤
I think you nailed it. I was thinking the same things as I watched that episode. I look forward to your upcoming videos.
Montana totally gives me Linnea Quigley vibes! Total 80’s scream queen!
Liked and subscribed this video was amazing!!
I applaud you for that game of throwns bit 👏😂
Nitpick: In 1984, actress Justine Bateman was wayyyyy better known for being on "Family Ties" than having been on "Tales of the Darkside."
Agreed
I was waiting on this
Won’t speculate or analyze it to much for first episode but ya loving going.....back to the 80”s
She's also wearing these glasses, I mean come on
I think the hiker is not from the year 1984!
You know the rules once your no longer a virgin its alllll game baby 😂 straight up
Honestly thought day was gonna die in this episode, but this dude over proving he will die first. Thanks
(Emma finds her body btw)
Richard Ramirez a.k.a Night Walker is a cult wannabe who praises satan.
Amazing!!!
Great first episode. It’s refreshing to see a season that will probably not be weirdness just for the sake of weirdness.
It's off to a good start but apocalypse started well also and it went downhill toward the end imo , Just hope this season maintains this level throughout the season
I actually started liking apocalypse once they started connecting past seasons. It took me a few episodes to get into that season.
Wouldn't it be epic if this went the way of Camp Sleepaway?? The twist at the end is insane!
New to your channel, great video! I'm subscribing!
OMG! The ear thing from scream queens! Keep your earmuffs on Chanel number 3!
Excited for your brake downs.
Wow!! I really liked E1 of AHS 1984!! It is going to be a great season!!
What if jingles is a good guy he doesn't even have a look of a pyschopath but everything is made up by margaret
ive been saying hes a red herring all along and that margaret is the REAL killer
What about the thing he did to the black security guard when he was trying to escape??
@@tears3194 hey I'm triggered. You could have just said guard or hospital staff. Hes the only hospital staff that got killed so why you gotta add black to be specific when it already clear enough? Fuckin anime weirdo
But, WHY would she cut her own ear off?
@@tears3194 that was the only way to escape prison
My favorite season already. I'm watching all the 70s/80s horror lately. They are going for it with this season. They're completely ripping off Friday 13th but I dont care.
I think it's an homage for sure, like they're being too obvious for it to be a negatively meant thing
Lmfao I love the commentary, top notch 😂🤙🏼
This is the first season of AHS I’ve ever watched but thought I’d give it a go cus I liked the teaser vids. Loving it so far
J3dininja04 it's the second season for me and i'm loving it too :D
Can't wait to solve this mystery together with everyone. Dose anyone think that that there will be a supernatural element to this season? if there isn't I hope there is more then one killer with lots of twist and turns. Thank you Think Story you brought a lot to my attention but I didn't catch word "Satan" on the end phone call. All I could here was jingling and havey breathing and it creeped me out >_>. When I get a chance I will listen to that again. Yes that that is a nod to the killer in the leather jacket but it might be a reference to Cody's character in S8. Each season has nods of the seasons in the past.
“And she refuses to help because she’s the worst nurse ever.”
One word; RATCHED.
Brilliant breakdown!
I'm starting to think that since the hospital being "open" allowed the copy cat, I'm sure the word got around about the details of his crime so when jingles escaped so did his copycat
I didn’t get to see the episode, but I feel like this is better than actually watching it.
11:36 I'm upset that girls went to bed with a face full of makeup in 1984.
This episode was so entertaining for the 80' horror movies fan I remain. I even caught myself dancing at their radio :P
Yep, Margaret is definitely a weirdo and could be the killer. Or maybe not. I've go that feeling that we are getting tricked here ;) So I can hardly wait fot the next episodes!
Love the shoutout! ☺️
There is no dance montage, it's aerobics.
ok 6ix9ine
Pixie4Gizmo I was thinking the same thing. This reviewer definitely wasn’t familiar with the 80’s. Family Ties was a huge hit show.
@@PixieYelsraek oh no I'm not trendy? Damn, son. I'm hurt.
Excited for this season. Loved the 1st episode
Wow this was better than the actual episode lol not having high hopes for this season so far
The first episode was really good
I'm all for the theory that they are stuck in a time loop.
The hitchhiker looks like he's from the 60's and said he tried to stop it bu it's happening again. Had his ear cut off, and it's all centered on this camp. Either way, This season looks promising.
Does anyone else think that the injured hiker is definately a time traveler? ala Back to the Future (another 80s movie trope)
Motels suddenly last summer is the song played at the beginning of trailer.
