How long can you leave it blown up and assembled outside? Is it designed to be there for a decent amount of time? Would seem like a right pain having to dismantle and reassemble every couple of days

@@mfgoals7070Hello! It's been up nearly two years and the body is still holding fast. The only thing wrong is the inflatable ring and lid. The ring keeps deflating, even though I've the ultra cover on and I've changed the lid to the ufo. It's still meeting my needs. Not sure if indoors or out is best for it.
Nice bit of equipment,you can have a go whenever you like,and yeah,if you arnt generating any heat,its gonna take a bit more getting used to,but great fun!😁

Hi, thanks for the comment. I am definitely going to use it into winter. That's what I am waiting for as the summer heat is making the water in the pod too warm, even if I add ice. So looking forward to winter. I started using the pod in March and we had a cold snap. No ice in the pod, but I will update as the year goes on. Re: the afterdrop, I get the shakes after a cold dip, but tend to warm up gradually. Get dry and dressed quickly and then eat or drink something. I have suffered afterdrop and that was because I was in the water too long and the wind was chilling. It's always good to start slow and short and work up to your limit. Learn to read your body and the signs if it gets too cold.

I've read reviews that delivery can take a while. I got mine within three weeks. I'd contact the Lumi site, think they have an online chat. I messaged that and got a reply stating my delivery time. I am sorry you are waiting so long. I am not affiliated with Lumi so not sure what their delivery times are, but I'd message the chat on their website and hopefully it shouldn't be too long before you get your pod.
how to choose between this one and their more expensive one in Fiber glass that cost about 700 euro as a renewed one.... what might be the benefits of the glass fiber one compared to this one? please, if anyone tried both models, let me know what you think are the pros and cons here as is about 600 euro between the models... thanks for getting back!
I can only comment from having a plastic Lumi pod so hopefully some of my other followers can help answer this question!? For a quick 10 minute dip the types of pod like the Lumi are good, however mine stands in the afternoon sunshine and gets hot during the water months. I am looking forward to autumn and winter when the temperatures drop away. Some people buy second hand wooden barrels for cold water immersion, and even an old bath tub can be used. The Lumi wasn't that cheap as there are other models on the market cheaper. Hopefully other viewers can help add to this thread. :)

thanks, I was about to buy their larger one as they got their November discount now every 72 hours and add new ones... the Recovery Pro Bath was the one I was thinking of buying, but felt 800 dollars is a lot and I am not sure is going to make me more healthy... I have had severe problems after a failed hip operation of the muscles and fascia, IT band and cannot walk.. got so much pain I do not sleep through the fascia and muscles all the way from the outside of the hip through the patella of the knee and down in the soft tissue of the foot ankle and Plantar fasciitis, is the inflammation of the plantar fascia,.. I got so much inflammation right now, like everywhere it feels like some days... so I was thinking as when I sleep I always use ice blocks from the freezer for more than a year to cover those areas to fall asleep due to the pain and it soothe me temporary... So was thinking that then maybe a full bath of ice would calm down my over-heated body and inflammations as well as a stressed nervous system permanently and it could help me to heal more on an over-all basis... I do not know... but is why I felt I wanted to buy the larger bath and go serious about it, but then I felt like 800 dollars, my god. is a whol electric bike or something else that those money can be spent on.. .so I ended up not buying anything these days.. but they will have new 72 hour discounts this whole months.. just not sure about the quality and if is good enough for my needs.. feels hard to say when one got zero expertise in this type of therapy.. thanks for getting back!!, I used to swim a lot before this failed hip operation, like I loved swimming the most of everything in my life, could swim like half a day without giving up as I felt like a dolphin.. used to be a contemporary dancer and was supposed to have a standard external snapping hip operation.. but the first doctor in 2018 used a heating instrument and melted the whole IT band , the fascia so the muscles snapped off , the gluteus and the tensor fascia late snapped off and let me with holes right into the hip with no connection between the muscles.. and then in 2022 in may another doctor promise die to heal me and fix this disconnection of muscles and lack of IT band and did a totally different operation where he did a trauma surgery by putting in a synthetic net to put together my glutes muscles with the tensor fascia late muscles again, but he put them together way to tight so I could not walk at all and then all of it snapped when I was supposed to trust him to start to walk on it again.. and the doctor ran away form his repsonieilty and lied about the whole operation to hiss boss at the hospital and let me handicapped alone at home now for one and half years.. I am trying to revoker by tempering the pain the best I can and feel ice is the only pain release I have had so far after testing all kinds of useless medicines and morphines that only make it worse.. so now I do not use any medicines and not believe in that anymore, just believe in starting to eat better and do different therapy and rehab workouts before I can get a new operation to fix this and hopefully was again one day.. is tough, I can say... but ice keeps the extreme pain down for me... is why I am trying to learn of ice bath therapy now... jus not there yet.... thanks for getting back! sorry for my long "letter" .. @@WildSwimmingwithChristine

Of a summer, the pod is warm, you can put ice in to chill it. Of a autumn/winter it is cold because the outside temperature is cold. There is no plug, it's just a plastic tub with a lid.

I hope you enjoy your pod! I put in the 10g of bromine in once a month when I am cleaning the pod. I put in 15g in this June as the weather has been warm and didn't want it to get dirty too quickly. Good luck with your pod :)

Why the gloves and slippers? I was under the impression that cold on our feet and hands is an extraordinarily good thing. Love your videos, you are so lovely. We just got our Lumi as a gift from our son, who has a professional ice tub installed at his home. He got us started out. BTW ... I'm only at 3min 15 sec's in the ice bath, at 45 degrees F. At first, I could only do 1-2 mins, lol.
Thanks for your comment. I've always worn my neoprene gloves and swim shoes throughout the swim season so also do it in my pod. Makes me last longer as it keeps the extremities more protected. Three minutes in 7 degrees Celsius is a good time, you have to build yourself up. I'm looking forward to the colder temperatures in the UK, my sessions will be shorter but you feel the effects of the cold water much more! Enjoy your cold tub, it's great on the mental health :)
Customer service is atrocious. Ordered in January and just received my Lumi in June. I ordered 3 lids by mistake and emailed them multiple times to adjust to 1. They never adjusted and charged me for 3 lids. Can’t even rate or review the product as I’m still dumbfounded by the lack of communication and negligence to refuse to adjust my order. Hoping the actual product is better than the service I’ve received.
Hi, I liked the aesthetics to the pod and I needed one with a lid, so I opted for the Lumi, but there are lots of other pods, buckets, wooden barrels out there. It's quite durable. It's been up two months and seems to be doing ok :) I'm dipping everyday and find it easy to clean as it has a waste water pipe.

Thinking this one may not be big enough for me as I'm 6'2 and worried it wouldn't be steady enough for me. Have seen a plastic tub one with a lid but it's around £400! Only concern is the fact that it is non porous so mould may build over time? Also, would you go for a steel bath instead as it may be colder? Suppose the final question is in summer, will this work…..not sure how cold it’ll be?
Had mine for months and its not getting mouldy. I have used it in 1c - 10c - you get the same affect but just need to stay in longer. I use old tubs - ice cream mainly - in the freezer and put the the ice in 30min-60 mins before going in and brings the temp down by 2-3c. To keep cooler do this before you go to bed as well.

I am worried for you Christine, whilst it may be cold water for the body. Does it work for the soul, your back yard is not quite the same as the Welsh Mountains or the Lake District. To me it is bit like a running machine. I could cover the distance, climb the heights even get rained on in a cold shower but not experience the delight of looking down from the mountain top. Let's hope this is a very temporary stop gap until you get back to the real Wild Swimming with Christine. The days are getting longer, the tips of the trees are turning green and soon cold water will be cool water. I will await with interest on your experiences in March. Take care.

If its the inflatable ring, then pump it up some more. If its the body, needs more water.

How does it stay cold? Is it like powered by a plug or?
