    Some of us "all-or-nothing" personality types can't do anything in moderation. If I eat only healthy foods with lots of veggies I can stay on track with my nutrition... but if I have any treats around the house, like chips or cookies, at some point I will eat them and not be able to stop. So I just don't buy those things. My will power holds up fine for a trip to the grocery store, but if I know I have treats around in my fridge, I will eventually break down and I will binge.

One piece of advice I got from a protein company's website was so drink a bulk shake mixed with peanut butter just before bed.......to me that seems like it would equal belly fat. Better run that off then....oh wait better not...some other guy in some lame magazine says cardio should be avoided when bulking so you don't burn all your calories. Help us Buff dudes!

    One thing that worked for me was to cut one bad thing a month, replacing it with something else. First thing to go was waffles, then snack cakes, then soda, etc. When I started working out, I left my diet alone for a while and just focused my willpower on going to the gym on a schedule. Treat your willpower as a finite resource, and don't overtax it. That's what I did.

    Great video. The last tip gave me a fresh perspective and I think you focused on the root of many peoples' problem. I know it might be obvious for others but I never thought of just buying enough to keep a supply of good food available so that I don't HAVE to run somewhere and get it (either supermarket or take out). It's easy to not think that far ahead and overlook a simple and practical solution. Thanks guys.

      Robert Rivera Some things can be made in mass and can be frozen:. beans, soups, marinara sauce, chicken. I grill 4 family packs of split chicken breasts at a time, put them in individual bags and freeze them. It's the same thing as buying precooked chicken in the freezer section for 1/4 of the cost.

    • @darkman619x

      mike chang gets so much hate comparing to freelee is because he has been longer here ... they're both full of shit , but mike is much more famous and that resulting him influencing beginners with his bullshit ... i myself when i first started i was subscribed to mike's channel i thought he realy knew what he was talking about , what can i say i was a beginner trying to add some size at that point , but when i started doing some real research on fitness and diet in general , man it opened my eyes , most of what mike chang says is complete bullshit or obvious knowledg like him saying : if you wanna big legs do squats ... you dont say ! and dont even get me started on his miracle working supplement !

    • @SirJoelsuf1
      @SirJoelsuf1 9 лет назад +1

      darkman619x
      Yeah I understand that, but in the end he's just trying to make money. Freelee on the other hand is trying to make money AND make people feel bad for not supporting her. Look, InfiniteElgintensity makes fun of both, right? I imagine Mike Chang would probably laugh along while Freelee goes out of her way to actually be offended by it. This has actually been proven too, as Freelee's manbitch Durian Ryder has sqwaked at Elgin several times over social media.

    • @SirJoelsuf1
      @SirJoelsuf1 9 лет назад

      *****
      Well the main reason why Chang is so disliked is because his videos tell the viewer that supplements suck...except HIS. It's hypocrisy at its finest. But like I said, he's just trying to make money and not trying to make people feel bad for not doing things his way like Freelee.

    When someone says eating healthy is too expensive, I encourage them to track everything they eat during the week and price it all out. Junk food, eating out, and alcohol add up, and add up super quick. It's all about tracking where your money goes. It isn't that eating healthy is more expensive, because it's not, it's that people don't want to spend their money on healthy foods.

I'm vegan so in order to maintain I need certain things and I feel in no way limited. Plus, I have bought meat before as my partner ate meat for the first five years of our relationship so I know very well what an omnivores shopping list is like... I save so much damn money comparatively.

Dont go EVERY day, you arent getting payed for it. 4-5 days a week and training each body part TWICE a week is what's good. Also you dont burn muscle if you train more as an ectomorph lol. As an ectomorph your only problem is gaining size which means you need to train hard and eating a bit more like 300-400 more calories than your maintenance calories.

      U can go to the gym us much as u want but eventually it will catch up to you. When u start to feel tired and maybe hit a plateau, u can take a week off or a deload week, when you train with a low percentage of your max effort. The most important thing is that you're getting better and stronger in the gym, then the aesthetics will follow naturally.

      André Luiz train hard means going to the gym and not half-assing it. Also no you should do between 8-12 repetitions for 3-4 sets for most exercises, I'm sure you can find plenty of info on workouts on the net. Hell, this channel is full of it.

      Not sure how either of those two things makes me an idiot but no i dont only eat organic food. I prefer it if my veggies are from the farmer in our village but this day and age you simply cant get everything you want to eat next door. Also i'm in germany, how am i gonna get my hands on a Mango here? The only way i can is to get one from the super market which propably has GMO written all over it and i don't care. You know why? Most things you eat are GMO, most of the time, that is to say, unless they poisoned it, they are harmless. But still a GMO Mango is still just a Mango and doesn't have stuff added to it for which you need to be a chemist to know what they are. fps_dan

      You gotta quit the soda man. That shit is terrible for you (and your teeth). Try squeezing a slice of lime into tonic water with ice. It gives you that refreshing fizz with a citrus pop and zero calories. Hot herbal tea with honey is great in the winter. I think the eating healthy thing being more expensive is bullshit. Because if you break down the amount of money you'll spend on eating one day on healthy food vs how much you'll spend on eating at mcdonalds for one meal alone it will be cheaper for the healthy food. Granted me only having been doing all this stuff since the beginning of the year and not being able to afford like all organic stuff like I should be. I'm just buying pounds of chicken and unsalted veggies from walmart. Honestly 40 dollars of actual food that is good for me to keep my metabolism going compared to how much i'll spend on fast food is crazy. Like 60 dollars of meat and another 20 dollars of canned non salted veggies and a 20lb bag of rice has lasted me almost a month. The bag of rice with the pro portions I use on it will last me damn near 6 months.

      Bodybuilders usually 'bulk' in the winter months and 'cut' in the summer months. Basically, bulking is when you eat a lot of food and gain a large amount of muscle in a relatively short period of time, however, often you'll also get a bit more fat on you. A buff physique is basically what you get after you've bulked enough and then gone through a cut (a time where you watch what you eat more closely and lose the fat you accumulated while bulking); in other words, a lean, muscular physique.
      Hope this helped.

    • @CStrik3r
      @CStrik3r 9 лет назад +2

      He was refering to "Dirty Bulking" which is the eat-whatever-you-get-your-eyes-on kind of approach where bodybuilders get really fat and rock a big ol' belly THEN spend 4 months or so cutting, versus "Clean Bulking" where you have a small caloric surplus to build muscle slowly but surely and stay lean year-round, thats what he calls Buff.

      karma's a bitch Why do you care if they add in one extra gene to make it a lot better. It doesn't matter, because we have like 98% of our DNA similiar to other living organisms. And it does not destroy farmers independence, vice versa, it makes the shit they grow a lot more reliable so they can get more money. Do you know what GMO is? Do you even science, bro? Get your facts straight.

      Rasmus Brevik Taking genes from an animal and putting it into a plant is some weird shit. I don't care if they cross breed different plants, but fucking with the DNA when they don't know the long term implications of it is not for me. Consider this, your body has a harder time digesting microwaved food due to the way it was heated, it's not natural and your body doesn't recognize it. Same with supplements you piss down the drain compared to eating whole foods.
      You should stop pretending that you know better than everyone and look at studies and then look at who is funding the studies and make your best judgement. I don't care that you eat GMO, but to me it's worth the extra price and I believe you are ignorant. Do some research on high fructose corn syrup
