Mrs. Joan....love your videos. My husband had a huge garden. I vacuum sealed all of the beans he grew. And...thanks to your squash video and how to put them up, we're set for the winter for veggies (4 freezers).
Mrs. Joan we just love you and your videos! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You should do a video of one of your favorite dishes that your momma used to make! Keep up the awesome work!
I answered this but don't know where it went. 🤪 I haven't made a video yet but I would cover peas with some water and boil until they change color. Let cool and freeze.
@@dragonlady8176 They are fully cooked so I season with bacon grease or ham and serve as a side dish to any meat or potato dish. Ofcourse serve with hot cornbread!
@@jeffro7407 Yes but you have changed the processing time from 40 minutes pints 50 quarts to 75 pints and 90 quarts as all meats process that long. I don't know if peas would be too mushy. Let me know how it turns out if you do it.
@@AtHomewithMrsJoan Hi Mrs. Joan! I was going to ask this question too so thank you @jeffro7407 for asking it. Now I will say I don't like my purple hull peas mushy so I had the question of, would you still have to can them with the times above in your response if you cooked the bacon first? I just bought a bushel of purple hulls earlier today, and will be hulling them tomorrow after bowling because I don't want my hands to hurt for bowling...I also want to add that I am new to pressure canning, and it has been a long time since I have water bath canned anything, but I have found your videos great to watch and very informative. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with the world, because I waited too long to get info from my grandma, she just turned 93, and she doesn't remember a lot of those kinds of things. So again, thank you for sharing and I cant wait to hear what you think of if you cook the bacon first. Marisa (from Texas)

Hello Mrs. Joan, new subscriber here. Do you have a video on how to blanch purple hull peas for the freezer?

What do you do with them?
