I have a list of favorite meals, side dishes, breakfast dishes, and favorite desserts. I plan a menu for about 2-3 weeks out. But its also very flexible. I pull my ideas from my "food clearance" section. This is canned, store bought or frozen food that needs to be used up. I also keep an inventory sheet of my freezers, refrigerators, and kitchen pantry. One fridge freezer is just for leftover dishes. These are great for a smorgasbord day. I designed my menu form and Daily To Do list on Excel spreadsheet. I can then just keep copying my template. Miss Joan is right, this saves time, food and headaches.
I LOVE your helps! I love home and everything about it. I inventory my freezers and pantry. You're right as it helps in a million ways to save time and money!
I'm having surgery soon and won't have use of my right arm for a while. I made casseroles and sides for my hubby to heat up to help out. I have a list of my pantry but haven't done the fridge/freezer yet. Your right, my hubby won't search for food, he will eat oatmeal if I'm not home. What a wonderful idea, Bless you thank you for sharing your gifts and faith. ❤
Since learning to cook, I asked my husband what his favorite meal was so far. He said, fried pork tenderloin chops, squash fritters (thanks Mrs. Joan!), purple hull peas and cornbread. I'm writing stuff down now! And he loves my fried corn! He said, "Don't ever fix it any other way!"
Such a smart idea, Mrs. Joan!
@@JoGreer-d5w I use it all the time!
