Nicole already gave a warning to ask a doctor or nutritionist but wanted to add as a nutritionist that the AHA has studies linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease associated with fasting for such lengths of time and think anyone thinking of doing these types of fasts should give those a look as well.
Post partum bodies are their own breed of acceptance and work. I spent 1.5yr after my 2nd trying to lose the baby weight and nothing worked. Hormones are just all over the place with the stress and sleep deprivation, so until those start to settle, it's a game of grace and patience with ourselves. I will say high protein and 10-12K steps a day were what helped most after the 18m mark...and now well, baby #3 on the way so we'll start again after that 😅 praying you find extra grace and patince (and see yourself through the eyes of God too) during this start of your new chapter in your fitness journey 🤗
Love this, thank you so much. I think I need to track my steps and up the protein for sure. I already noticed I'm plateauing a bit already so those changes could really help. So nice to see other moms on the same journey and yes abundant grace!!
Mama of 3 here as well, 5, 3, and 13 months. About 6 weeks ago I was in a really dark place mentally. I am so thankful that I was still aware of what was happening and decided it was time to prioritize nutrition to properly fuel my body and begin balancing my hormones. Not dieting but eating a more well rounded diet (slightly heavier on the protein intake) and focusing on portion control bc I do love something sweet 😅. Things are slowly balancing back out and although I was pleasantly surprised when I realized I had lost some weight, the other side effects of our lifestyle changes feel even better! Overall I feel stronger, more motivated to be active, more patience with my littles, increased sex drive and the clouds are clearing 🙏🏻. I just want to be the best mama I can be with a healthy mental influence on my kiddos ❤
Thank you for sharing something so vulnerable, and I'm happy out of that dark place. It takes a lot of self-awareness, discipline and motivation to make those changes but so amazing to see all the positive effects! Keep it up mama God bless
I’m 3.5 months postpartum (third baby) and I was in a dark place I could just feel a heaviness , but thank God with His strength I got myself out of it. I’ve been moving my body almost everyday and I’m definitely way more mindful of what I’m putting in my body! I’m 10 pounds down(20 more to go!!) 😊 I’m so glad you posted this video!
I had been working so hard on my strength and health and weight after baby #3, then we decided our family needed a fourth. Really on a journey of RE-accepting that in pregnancy I am GOING to gain a lot of weight and no I'm not always making "healthy" choices but. Like you said, it's a season. And I can get back to it and working on my body after this baby and that's ok. I miss my skinny face from a few months ago it's hard not to get down about it but. It's where we are!
Love Intermittent fasting. Have been doing it on and off the last 8 years. I coming in with lower carbon as well though 😊 it just makes me personally feel my best. I gained alot of weight after two pregnancies and also formed supper bad habits 😅 back on track now since a month. Feeling much better already. It really is about so much more than the number on the scales!
Yes I’m intermittent fasting too!! I had many babies, and the last 2 were back to back. I really struggled with overeating in general, especially sweets and at night. I typically fast for longer periods of time during the first 2 weeks of my cycle and then shorter periods of time during the 2nd half of my cycle. I started my weight loss journey at the end of March and have lost over 25lbs. I’m so much happier and healthier. But I also have a much better understanding of how my body works and what it needs. Dr Mindy is a great resource, she has a clinic and specializes in healing the body with food and fasting. For anyone who is concerned about cardiovascular issues… plz do your own research. Studies and statistics can be very misleading, and at times are used for that purpose in particular. Here in the states, our food, healthcare system, etc is designed in a way for us to be reliant on medication. Oftentimes we’re taught to treat symptoms rather than addressing the root cause of the issue. And the truth is, regardless of how you get and stay healthy, there are people who benefit significantly if you stay unhealthy and uneducated. Okay I’m done carrying on lol hopefully that made sense to yall. I would love to see and hear more about your journey. It sounds like we have pretty similar stories. I too decided to get my life together after stepping on the scale and realizing I weighed more than I did after giving birth to my youngest. Wishing you the best 🎉
Thank you! God Bless!! I'm at the same stage of starting to take care of my post baby body as you are, However, it's taken me longer to get there as my kids are 15 & 11 already. Coot-Os to you for getting to this step of your life as soon as you have! I hope moving your eating window a bit earlier in the day has helped with your "kid patients" too! ☺️
I would love to hear more about this for you and updates. I’ve started to see a dietitian to get better with my diet and healthier with eating. And starting going to pelvic floor therapy as well!
I appreciate this video and your honesty! I’ve been thinking of trying this out as well.. I would love a day in the life video about you doing intermittent fasting! You know kinda like what you eat and just an overall outlook on how you do it! P .S you are such a beautiful soul. God bless you!🫶🏻
Can honestly say that you all made me remember to give myself some grace! Currently 4 months PP with #3 and the oldest is 3 1/2. I feel like my body is fighting me to lose the weight like I want to which at only 4 months PP I know sounds silly. We’re exclusively breastfeeding do I definitely feel like that’s having a large part to play in it well.
I needed this! Just had my third 5 months ago and in between that time I haven't really looked at my body much and now I'm like woo my body is sooo different than before and I know I will never get it exactly back. But I want to be stronger and healthier and happier for my kids.
It will work out one way or another. I remember after my second nothing moved the last 15lbs except going back to work. So not moving i definitely see probably affected me. I remember trying the fasting and it didnt help because i wasnt moving much. However 3 kids will keep you active im sure of it. Good luck! I truly enjoy all of your videos when you had Jace i was pregnant and it helped alot i didnt have pregnant friends around me and I will never forget seeing all of the videos and it helped tremendously and gave me goals. Your aspirational. May God preserve you and your beautiful family ❤
Thanks for sharing! It is interesting how sometimes you can get stuck at a certain spot and only different things work for different people depending on your lifestyle. Thank you so much for the kind words and glad that you stuck with me through your first pregnancy and are still here with me! Appreciate your encouragement and God bless!
Pre baby weight is something that is elusive I think. Your body adapts and changes and matures so much. I remember learning that fully mature breasts in women only develop and become “mature” during pregnancy. Your joints move around and then don’t go back exactly the way they were. I know after baby 2 my pelvic floor is tighter in not a good way and I’m on a journey to healing that so I can have more energy less pain and discomfort, I’m healing my core so I can lift my 5 and 1 year old. Heres to the journey mamas!!
I’m 7m PP with baby #2 and starting my journey too! I’m focusing more on exercising and portion control. I’ve tried IF in the past and unfortunately I feel like it went against how my body operates efficiently so I gained weight 😳 and this was pre-babies. Not sure I’ll try it again, unless I do some research and see how it works while breastfeeding too! Excited for you and all of us mamas prioritizing our health 💪🤍
Everyone’s body is so different! Amazing how you recognized that and pivoted. Congrats on baby and very smart to start off slowly with those changes ❤️
Happy for you! I was doing intermittent fasting post baby number 2, but I'm now (surprise surprise) pregnant with baby #3 so I had to take a big pause. Hoping to be where you are when baby is about a year
Congratulations! I personally found it so hard in between babies too get super into working out because I kind of knew I was gonna get pregnant again lol now that I have all three and we’re done having babies. I feel a big push to get more healthy! Wishing you the best!
Im nearly 5 weeks PP from my third little babe, and im right in the thick of that awkward body composition myself 🥴 go you for working out and making positive changes! Thank you for sharing and being open about your journey 🙏🏼❤️
Omygosh. I was thinking not too long ago how I hadn’t seen you post in so long. And i randomly see this video right now and go look at your videos and you have been posting! It just doesn’t appear on my recommendations, even when i’m subscribed. About to binge watch.
I’m on the same boat with losing and gaining weight after my I stopped nursing my third. I did keto, intermittent fasting… etc. Nothing worked since I have odd working hours and so I wasn’t sleeping enough for my body to heal. Sleep is crucial!! On another note. When your sister mentioned about how you ladies used to jump on the trampoline as kids, that kept you active and healthy. I’ve learned recently about rebounding and it helps you with Lymphatic drainage or some sort and has a more effect on losing weight. Idk, maybe that could help with the process? I wanted to try that next but I’m expecting my 4th 😂. Thanks for being honest and sharing your journey!
Congrats on your 4th, how exciting! A few other comments mentioned that IF didn't work for them, interesting to hear that but all bodies are so different so not surprised! I have NOT heard of rebounding, def something I'll look into, thanks for sharing!
I'm only 2 mins into your video... I feel you girl! I call it birthday season. I have 6 family Birthdays between Sept & 1st week of Oct (husband and both my kids being 3 of the 6, both my parents, and my neice). Trying to not be so stressed (almost impossible) I start prepping and buying things for those birthdays in July. Whether it's presents, party supplies, goodie bag items,.decorations, etc. That way there's no last minute rushing to get things. Sending well wishes! We’ll get through this season👊
Thanks for sharing, you totally get me! I definitely did not start as early as I should and everything is kind of last-minute but that’s OK. I’m being a lot more relaxed on birthdays this year and keeping it basic lol instead of all my DIY craziness! Anyways, happy birthday birthday to all your people and hope you have a wonderful time celebrating everyone!
Definitely on the same journey! I never had to think about what I ate before because I was pretty active, now after two kids I have been quite selective about my eating and very consistent at the gym, still feels like it's taking forever to see results! Also incorporating intermittent fasting at certain times of the month. Thanks for sharing!
Honestly I would look into pro-metabolic eating or Ray Peat to protect your hormones (ESP as a woman!!!), but if you MUST do the fasting, it might be helpful to have nourishment in the morning with your kiddos and then an early dinner. Eat like a queen in the morning and a pauper at night. It also aligns with the circadian rhythm! A nourished mother is vital for a thriving family ❤
Yep. It is time. Same 3 babies in 5 years (5 pregnancies). I got to 82kg.. slowly and steady winss the race. I am down to 69kg in 9 months. :) 10more to go. My goal is april 2025 :)
Im with you. Also three kids in 4 years. I wouldn’t dare use the scale 😂 and I’m not intermittent fasting but just working out and trying to eat healthier Good luck, we can do it ❤
Needed this today! I really wanted to start a program Sept 2nd but it didn’t happen. Going to work on my eating habits over this next couple weeks! I would love continued updates!
I really enjoyed this video! I would LOVE if you made updates. I am 15 months postpartum and didn't see any change in my weight (despite exercise) until I started intermitted fasting last month! I do feel like I didn't waste time with exercise though because I worked on healing my diastasis recti and healing my core from months 12-14. I am currently doing a fasting combination of 18:6 and 20:4 depending on whether or not I have to leave the house (and need to eat for energy). I haven't been able to do fasting and exercise at the same time, but I am losing more weight with just fasting for now. I am trying to lose 20 pounds total so I will try to lose the first 10 and then implement 10,000 steps a day with intermittent fasting until I am at my goal weight. Then, I may or may not fast continue to fast at my goal because I want to go hard with strength and resistance band training to maintain my weight. I also had an athletic/fit build prior to pregnancy so I know that I really need to incorporate muscle toning back into my routine or I will be "thin", but I won't have even close to the figure or strength I had growing up. Not to mention, I need to get and stay strong to keep up with my growing boy! 😀
Thanks for sharing! Your story sounds a lot like mine and looking back at my old photos really motivates me to keep going! I’m definitely going to work on increasing my steps and actually tracking them every day because I stopped wearing my Apple Watch for a while there. Sounds like you have some really good clear goals in mind and wishing you all the best!
Almost 5 months pp with baby number 2 and nursing so losing weight isn’t in my bingo cards for right now because I dont want to affect my supply. But it’s hard to look at how my body changed this pregnancy and accept my body for what it is now
It’s definitely challenging but I think the reminder that it’s temporary and you have plenty of time after this precious season to focus on that is helpful ❤️❤️
I usually don't comment on videos too much but wow.. we are basically in the same season of life. I also have 3 kiddos: 6, almost 3 and 1. Started intermittent fasting 20 days ago (I have the app to track this😂) I've already lost few pounds as well. And everything you said about never having to lose weight Intentionally I totally understand what you mean! This is my 1st time as well and it ain't as easy as it seems 😂. We're in this together 💪 keep sharing!!
I started fasting one day a week after my second baby. Not easy at all the head aches are bad. But I am positive . Handling a baby with Cystitic Fibrosis and a toddler doesn't help .
You have a lot going on! Glad to hear your remaining positive through it all because I know it can’t be easy with cystic fibrosis on top of having kids! You got this mama stay strong!
Fasting is something we all should be doing for spiritual reasons. Highly recommend finding scriptures and study this in biblical terms ❤ but of course there is other benefits Hot tea, herbal teas, and water when fasting. Year 3 of doing something similar and I promise you it gets easier. Your body almost gets used to it!
My son is now 13 months and I am definitely in the period of not recognising who I am when I look at the mirror. It’s not just my size but my body shape has changed 😢
I have started Grow With Jo exercises since July and recently started back on IF some days of the week. I agree its hard not eating in the morning cause usually I eat my kids leftovers in the morning and with fasting I feel like Im wasting food cause Im not gona eat cold leftovers later on lol. I havent seen much change in the scale but the exercises have helped redistribute the fat🤣 I am a binge eater tho so thats something I struggle with once the eating window opens.
So funny that your son said your belly looks like sourdough! When I was a child, we used to rub my moms belly and call it her bread dough 😝 now I am a mom of 3 and have my own bread dough 👍🏻😆
On this journey with you ❤ highly recommend Dr.Mindy Pelz. She’s done so much research in regards to fasting specific to the female cycle. Currently listening to her book on audible called “Fast like a girl”. Worth a listen (:
Love this video. My son just turned 2 and I am on this journey with you. I want to get my body back to health, enjoy feeling healthy for a bit and then have baby number 2!! I have already hit my first weight loss goal by eating abit less and doing 10 min exercise videos most evenings 🩷 x
Nicole already gave a warning to ask a doctor or nutritionist but wanted to add as a nutritionist that the AHA has studies linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease associated with fasting for such lengths of time and think anyone thinking of doing these types of fasts should give those a look as well.
I appreciate you letting us know about that! Pinned the comment for people to do more research on this, thank you!
I use volvic with a touch of watermelon sugar free. I will get you through xx
Do your research about this. Correlation does not equal causation. It's like saying 100% of people who drink water will die.

Thanks for sharing!! Love that we’re doing this together! What app are you using?
@@Nicolelelagreen it's called gofasting
I love the after mom bod you look healthy and happy
Aww thank you! Its definitely a different kind of love and respect I have for my body after all it's done!
I'm with you girl! Would love updates - I need a buddy who is doing this with me!
Yes same, helps with accountability so much!
Fasting is something we all should be doing for spiritual reasons. Highly recommend finding scriptures and study this in biblical terms ❤ but of course there is other benefits
Hot tea, herbal teas, and water when fasting. Year 3 of doing something similar and I promise you it gets easier. Your body almost gets used to it!
Yes there's a spiritual aspect for sure which is interesting that its Biblical and has so many benefits, the Lord knows what our body needs!
My son is now 13 months and I am definitely in the period of not recognising who I am when I look at the mirror. It’s not just my size but my body shape has changed 😢
I totally understand I’m struggling with that as well. Accepting the new changes takes time don’t be hard of yourself you’ll get there ❤️
I have started Grow With Jo exercises since July and recently started back on IF some days of the week.
I totally agree about the leftovers thing! Haha it’s just Instict to pop it in your mouth to not waste food!
I’m doing fasting 😊
I love intermittent fasting! I lost 40+ lbs postpartum ♥️
That is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
@@Nicolelelagreen I’m also diabetic and its done wonders for my blood sugar too.
Very encouraging
Thank you so much!
So funny that your son said your belly looks like sourdough! When I was a child, we used to rub my moms belly and call it her bread dough 😝 now I am a mom of 3 and have my own bread dough 👍🏻😆
The circle of life, and bread lol
On this journey with you ❤ highly recommend Dr.Mindy Pelz. She’s done so much research in regards to fasting specific to the female cycle. Currently listening to her book on audible called “Fast like a girl”. Worth a listen (:
Yes currently reading its so helpful!
❤
I'm in the same boat. There are too many sweets after having 3 kiddos. ❤❤❤ please help
Haha send help!!
She could have said all that In The first minute
Well that wouldn't be very much fun would it?
Love this video. My son just turned 2 and I am on this journey with you. I want to get my body back to health, enjoy feeling healthy for a bit and then have baby number 2!! I have already hit my first weight loss goal by eating abit less and doing 10 min exercise videos most evenings 🩷 x
Love this plan! Congrats on hitting your first goal 🙏🏼✊🏼
