i swear you have the BEST intros in the wholeee world
TRUE
AGREEED. Lol i just watched the intro and stoped to comment that
AGREED
Your period story was incredibly relatable; making a "diaper" out of toilet paper, waiting for the gush of blood, praying that you don't bleed on the chair, etc! Been there, done that!
Benn there done that!
billie is the best camerawoman
fr she got every shot
oh yes

The fact that you’re casually this skilled at painting speaks VOLUMES
“For those of you who paint” girl you are the artist here, this is literally the prettiest thing I ever seen in a minute
as someone with a B.A. in painting, your first oil painting is amazing!! to answer some of your questions, you do not need to add more gesso to the canvas if it is pre-gessoed. for paint thinners, i think what you're using is perfect. linseed oil is what I've always used and prefer, but i think you should just test out different thinners to find what works best for you! and for sealing, it isn't completely necessary to do so, but if you want to, you should wait 6 months. i love using a spray varnish for sealing, just in case there is any doubt about it not being completely dry. you could even do a mixture of a light coat of spray varnish and then go in with a thicker coating of a bottled varnish. again, a lot is just trial and error and finding what works for you! hope that helps!
You can get a pre oil primed linen canvas, or put a thin layer of oil paint on the gessoed canvas, (painting that first layer will spread a bit easier). Gesso just soaks in that first layer of oil paint -- The Masters Brush Cleaner and Preserver Soap is good for cleaning brushes. Just first, wipe the paint off the brushes really well with paper towels or rags. -- And if you want to even the shine of a finished painting: use GamVar, not Damar. GamVar can be cleaned off easily. Watch a RUclips video on application. They say with GamVar you only have to wait 2 weeks but I'd wait at least a month. Good luck!
I'm girlbossing my way to number 15 on the charts - FINNEAS

"i really enjoy painting, I never do it" is sooo real
just something to watch out for with oil painting is the rags you use while painting, if they are bundled up they can make their own heat through a chemical reaction from the solvents and spontaneously burst into flames, so to be safe its best to keep them i a fire proof container incase they catch fire so that it can stay contain in the box, also letting them dry/air out before butting them in there can help minimize the chance of something like that to happen. stay safe and your painting turned out so good, i love it
Omg this needs more likes so that she'll see it, that's scary
girl. okay. that painting. photorealism gold. go off
buying new art supplies is one of the greatest joys in life 🥰
Your painting is gorgeous!
Long reply for your art q's:
I have a BA in Art and Animation but of course you don't need a degree to knowledge share. I just spent a stupid amount of money on school LOL ❤ You will want to wait 6 months before varnishing. If you do it too soon it will crack or cause discoloration. When you varnish you will want to consider if you want the colors to change on your finished piece. If you want the darks to look more bold then choose a gloss. But gloss creates a lot of reflection if you're going to hang it on your wall. If you intend to hang it like a gallery piece a matte spray looks better because you can read it from further away. A spray varnish will dry faster and is easier. Just practice on a piece of cardboard first so your spray is even. If your painting isn't totally dry and you do a brush varnish, you could smudge your painting. Matte or shine, brush or spray, they're all personal preferences and you can do no wrong. The only thing that can go wrong is not waiting long enough for it to dry. 😊 Air and heat won't make it dry faster, so patience is key. Don't forget to put it someplace dog hairs won't go. (I have 3 dogs. From experience). Can't wait to see the varnished version! Go for brand Winsor and Newton for the varnish. They're elite in the fine art world because their products have been around for a long time.
you are so talented at everything you do, it’s genuinely insane. your eye for design/decor/fashion is amazing but I love when you show your own art 😭 the IS THIS IT piece, the falling angel, this one!!!! an artíste!!!

Ugh life is good when Claudia posts
claudias intros give me life
Billie cam during pickle ball was so sweet.
I swear the period story is every uterus owners worst nightmare but also something we all have experienced in some way and we figure it out! You will forever carry 10+ pads/tampons with you at all times 🤣 also cinematic excellence as always! Also Claudia please please consider making artwork that you want to sell I would love something you made to hang up in my home 🏡 much love 💕 🫶🏼
I love choosing once color from within the painting to paint the edges of the canvas! I think it adds a super nice look. Like the green within your pool would look nice along the edges of the canvas.
You're an absolute ARTIST in all that you do. You're truly an inspiration!
first of all i just wanna say that i really love your content. your videos give this comfort feeling. i love your energy and your videos. i love you and finneas. i just love your content and i really look up to you.. (its really funny to see finneas sign the cds that i literally pre-ordered like 30 minutes ago..what a timing)
The period story was soo relatable but like the extra version 🤣
I wish Claudia would post videos 😭 She is so comfort to watch and this quality... 🤩 Outstanding intro! That's a real youtuber and influencer, dont try to change my mind haha
Shes genuinely so talented, not everyone can do their first oil paint that perfect and beautiful CONGRATTSSS❤❤❤
Billie giggling is the most adorable inclusion.
I'm really, really happy you spoke so openly and freely about your period issue!!!! These stories are sonoften treated with shame and hidden, but sharing about them is how we normalize something half the population experiences! So refreshing to see!!!
oil painter here! I use Gamvar varnish by Gamblin. It comes in gloss, satin, and matte finishes and can be applied once the thickest part of the painting is dry. I usually pour it into a dish and then use a varnish brush to apply a thin layer. Your painting is beautiful! Can't wait to see what you paint next!
wow that’s honestly the most realistic first oil painting! I genuinely thought it was a photo! Sooo beautiful and love these monthly vlogs!
Oh my gosh there's nothing I love more than Claudia's monthly vlogs
You simply cannot be this talented at filmmaking. The impecable editing, wonderful shots, unmatched storytelling and the fact that you are still relatable!!! Love you girl
Loving your creativity in all your intro’s this year! And watching you paint this month has made me want to pick up a paintbrush. Thanks for sharing and inadvertently inspiring a desire in me to want to create again! 🌻
That painting is amazing. The movement in the water is sooo impressive. Cant believe it's your first oil painting. You've got natural talent.

Thank you for sharing your period story. The amount of times that has happened to me, I’m sorry you went through that! But I’ve been there and it’s so nerve wrecking, you looked amazing!
I could watch you paint for hours. You're so talented, it's insane.
The whole period Story was so real which i loved and you absolutely nailed it pretenting nothing went wrong. Your vlog is lovely to watch and the painting is insanely beautiful 🪷💕
In my painting class in college, our prof. made it mandatory to print our inspo pic out on paper and I think this make it so much easier instead of looking at phones! You can tape it to your easel
Bless your heart, Claudia. That period experience sounds so stressful! 🩸
I've been waiting all month for this
I adore how present you are when talking to the camera/audience, and omg the time you take for the intros alone? So grateful for your vlogs
your videos are my absolute FAVORITE way to start the month
Makes me so happy knowing you know/are friends with Del water gap, I love their music so much
your painting is absolutely incredible, i cannot stop staring at all the details!!
18:43 that brush is perfect for when you seal that kind of painting, but if you ever try to paint a textured painting I would recommend using a spray type varnish (don't use brush!). and you HAVE to seal it, go do it!! your painting looks amazing to not be protected :")
GIRL THE INTROS KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER❤❤❤❤
Claudia I think is this one of the best vlogs I have ever watched in my entire life
Omg i haven't seen a new painting by claudia in a minute since like her apartment days
your creativity on the intros are SO GOOD

claudias intros never fail to amaze me💞!! 🫂
I still remembered the first video that I saw from your channel when you was still in your parent's home making haul for beach outfits. Since then I always love your energy and how humble you always are. Glad that after all the success that your are building around your career you are still the same sparkle girl since then always bringing happiness throw the camera, I wish other people that are trying to build a career though RUclips can be also such a good example for young generation that see you as a role model ❤
As someone who learned how to use oil paint in high school I could’ve never done something as amazing as you did on your FIRST TRY. Amazing! A true artist.
Looove how the videos are so calm..allways you just enjoing simple thing with smile on your face ! ….yah, and the paint? So cool, love it 🤍

read the forbidden book Magnetic Aura on Borlest, and you'll see the secrets they're keeping from us.
what secrets?
I keep seeing comments like this about forbidden books what’s going on
So cryptic haha. Please expand further...
I can watch an hour of one month’s vlog and still be sad when it’s over! Love the vibes ♡
literally as soon as every month ends I keep checking and refreshing every few hours if the vlog is uploaded yet, love you Claudia so much
your oil painting is SO impressive for someone just starting that's literally amazing
I adore your oil painting so much!! It’s incredible for your first time aswell , also with the canvas I would recommend adding more gesso as it really makes a difference but it varies between canvases from my experience
I’ve never watched your videos before but I love this so much and I will definitely be returning !!
You are a goddess for including the period story omg I love you
That painting is amazing! The depth is perfect and the shirt pops so much when you back up. Teach me!!
This painting is so gorg!! Wait a few months - I would say 2 - 3 is enough. I like Winsor & Newton Artists gloss varnish. Make sure you wipe any dust off the painting before you varnish. Then lay it flat and apply it with a varnish brush (you can buy this at the art store too!) Also you can always test out varnishing another little painting first so you're confident in it!
we want more painter claudia!! i’d love more painting content
I literally thought the painting was the reference photo 🤣 It looks amazing!! Well done!! 👏🏻
August looked so magical and dreamy! the painting turned out BEAUTIFULLY! also, really felt your anxiety around the period drama
This is the first time I come across your channel, your vlog was so therapeutic 😊❤
been watching for years but ever since you started this monthly series, it gives tv series. i been trying to have everyone and their mother watch your videos
Your painting looks amazing!!. It kinda blew my mind when i saw it on your post. Btw, your period story was wild, like, what are the chances to be in Las Vegas, having a great time and then boom. Glad you still enjoyed your night! Love your vlogs!💖💖
YAY my Wednesday just got 10 times better!! 💕
WHEN SHE PUT UP THE REAL PIC OF THE PAINTING I ACTUALLY GASPED SHE RECREATED IT AMAZINGLYYYYYYYY
Your painting looks bloody great! Bravo!
Cluadia is living her best amazing life and I’m so here for it and she’s like amazing and talented!!!
😮 is me watching the painting part. the finished painting looks SO good and i felt like a parent watching my kids drawing when you revealed it. i love you Claudia!! ❤
you don’t understand how happy this made me! every month i wait for the next one 🫶🫶 love you claud!
I feel like the best sealer for my oil paintings is Gamvar sealer and it’s odorless. It comes in satin and gloss finish. I find that it doesn’t yellow over time. 😊. By the way your painting is amazing! Please keep painting and showing your work.
the way I suffered the period story.. I may or may not have PTSD, I'm just nodding like 'yeess... YES'. Being on stage when I'm freaking out about lack of protection (and knowing that freaking out=bigger flow).. I'd die.
Always so inspiring! You’re killing it with these monthlys. Obsessed. Love ya ❤
i always look forward to these videos every month it's so calming to watch.
claudia’s vlogs are my favourite videos it feels like im watching my sister vlog
Claudia you outdo yourself with the intros! Everytime, I think oh that last video's intro can't be topped! And you come up with a better one! Uff
you have the only videos i can watch all the way through.
That painting is amazing! Even though you think you have mistakes I love it! Looks perfect to me!
I watched you when I was in middle school and you were in middle school! I always looked up to how naturally artistic you are truly a queen!!
Omg. Claudia you are such a talent in everything you do 🤯 blows my mind. First - the way you edit the videos is the most artistic I’ve seen on youtube. I could imagine you doing short films or commercials. Second - the painting !!!! I want to buy it ❤
Hi Claudia, Art Talk in a sec but first thank you for being so honest about your period! So many of us have been through this (apart maybe not on stage!) the teenage me could not imagine feeling safe and free to talk about it with anyone, so thank you! So onto painting... lovely work btw, I really like the composition and use of juxtaposing textures, pattern, abstraction and angles.
Oil painting can be intimidating for a reason, it is very technical but you can also use your instincts a bit too. My mum (although we had few rules) insisted I wait to paint in oils till I had a proper teacher. Still I applaud you trying it out for yourself. Firstly You are right to question the canvas. One's in packets usually they are not very well prepared, and might need more layers of gesso (a chalky acrylic primer for painting). You can tint it and add a couple of thin washes or you can choose an oil based primer too (but I don't) A good art supply shop will make their own, which are much better quality and worth the investment and give you good advice too. Ok, in terms of painting: You have good instincts, doing light brown wash as the underpainting is great! I do the same. Here is the basic run down. Oil painting is usually about layers working from 'thin' to 'fat' eg thinner (solvent) to linseed oil. (solvents are an important topic -more on that in a sec) You can either mix your own, as I do, or buy them as premixed 'mediums' (usually numbered in order). Working 'thin to fat' is the most important rule in oil painting: think about it this way you need to work from thin to fat so that the layers dry properly before you add another, as adding linseed oil makes the paint take even longer to dry.
Having said that there is another way of working called 'Alla prima ' which is when you work 'wet into wet' the way you did for most of your painting. This is a great way to work to keep things fresh and loose, but can be hard to gain control over details and can lead to 'muddiness' too. You were smart to use different brush sizes and to use the solvent to wipe off painting. It's great to use that way.
The approach to oil painting has changed over the years. It's really important to be aware of the health and safety aspect. I always paint outdoors for this reason nowadays. The main risks are the toxins and heavy metals in some oil paint (earthy colours are generally safest) and in solvents. People used to wash their brushes and paint in turps (turpentine), these days there are safer options. For washing brushes just use olive oil soup solvents. For painting use gum based not mineral turps, or orderless turps. There may be other products I am not aware of that you can get over there. All solvents are bad for you, (can cause headaches etc. the heavy metals in the paints are more concerning, but you can just where gloves too) So only use in a well-ventilated room, wash your hands really well and don't eat or drink at the same time. I always use an apron and change of clothes, but I work large and messy!
Sorry, it's an essay and my computer is lagging, I almost didn't reply as I knew I wouldn't be able to stop myself once I started. If you ever want more advice feel free to reach out to me (I taught I art for over ten years and have a masters of art etc etc) Side note: you can add a variety of other things too including gell etc. (which adds body and can be used for glazing etc) but that's another story.
Good luck wth it all Claudia, it's so lovely to see you glowing and having fun. Xx
nagrywasz super vlogi, najlepsza część polski na odległość
Piękny obraz Claudia, dalsza perspektywa nadaje mu realizmu🫶🏼
Claudia is the most inspiring person ever.
my recommendations as a professional artist/painter, I like to gesso over the pre-gessoed canvas and then sand it down to get a nice smooth surface. You might also really enjoy working on wood panel (you have to gesso it though). You are definitely safe with the original base layer of gesso already applied to the store-bought canvas. I use a combination of odourless non-toxic mineral spirits and linseed oil to get various glazes and thinning capabilities, and for a good clean I use the "Old Masters" soap. Oil paint usually dries in about 2-4 weeks (especially smaller works). Some colours take much longer than others (ex. titanium white, cad yellow, etc.), but I would say 4 to 6 months is certainly overkill. Happy painting!
Truely amazed at how beautiful that painting is. Girl, I would hang it in my living room.
Bro, had no idea you were able to paint, you did so well with the medium and texture, Great job! Oil paint ain’t no joke . You are amazing ❤
