  • In this video I show you how you can clean extremely greasy kitchen floor tiles, those tiles thsat haven't been cleaned for ages, so the grease and dirt is stuck hard so all the usual methods don't work. I also debunk a series of myths about cleaning methods promoted in RUclips and other Internet sites.

The muriatic acid although effective attacked the grout between the tiles. A safer alternative is Sodium Hydroxide (hidróxido sódico). Its an alkeline that can disolve fats and oils at ambient temperatures. I wouldn't fancy being in an enclosed space like a kitchen with those muriatic acid fumes that can get in my hair (whats left of it) and on my skin. However you still must take precautions as sodium hydroxide can also cause burns your skin. Still a great video though.

The effect you see in 10:39 on, is the acid attacking the dirt on the grout, not attacking the grout. I made a test on another surface and it cleans the grout very well, apparently with no secondary effects, although I can't guarantee it hasn't weakend the sealing ability of the grout - we'll see. I'll upload a sort of short with that test and another test I did to see if 10 mins of acid had any effect on the enamel, for your interest. Thanks for the Sodium Hydroxide (or peroxide) tip, I'm sure those are a good alternative to Hydrochloric acid.

    You should try Celtic soda

How about some celtic dancers? I'm sure they'd remove everything from my floor. 🤣🤣🤣

@@RODsDIY caustic soda is used on tiles all the time, caustic soda is in hand soap you know the soap that you wash your hands with, it is in laundry detergent, I used to clean off tiles like the wall in your video first I would scrape then wash all the heavy and loose fat off the wall what's turpentine then I would mix a solution acoustic soda wet all the tiles and white 10 to 15 minutes give it a wipe with a damp rag went down any parts that are still dirty with the caustic solution keep repeating the steps above and you won't have to scrub

@@Sam-black Thanks, that's a great step by step option, and as you say, with no scrubbing.
