I guess I must have missed the rinse. I saw you shuffling around as you were drying the floors. I do that too. It sure makes it quicker. No need to wait for your floors to dry, especially since they're wood.
You are so entertaining to watch and to listen to! Never knew about using Dawn and vinegar - seems like a great hack! Fun and informative video - thank you!!👍😊
My mom uses vinegar/water mixture on the regular which was recommended by her floor installer. Heating is to help with mixing, dissolving the grime. Getting the dissolved grime up no matter the solution is key. A microfiber or something to soak it up does well, a mop that smears it around does not. LA's Totally Awesome all-purpose does a great job as does the concentrate for grime buildup. I often think Dawn comes up with these hacks which work some of the time but not any better than other products. Glad you found a solution.
It definitely works! I couldn’t believe how easily all the gunk came off. Thank you so much for watching my vid and subscribing :) Wait til you see what it can do in the bathroom!
Thank you. I'm in the UK so we don't have Dawn here, so will try what I think might be our nearest alternative. I've got builders this week, so will definitely be trying this after they've finished.
Since this video I’ve been told you can just use a very small amount of the dish soap and it works as well. Also, that it shouldn’t be used on hardwood floors. Just fyi.
You are absolutely Awesome.. I have a bad back but desperately need to get on my hands and knees to fix what a mop n floor cleaner doesn’t… thanx for doing the grunt work and testing first and you found what looked like magic.. here’s hoping the magic and work in my kitchen too ❤ take care and thanx again
I have been using dawn and vinegar to clean my kitchen floor. I have a while ceramic tile and I loved it when we bought our house but with a big hairy dog, I’m hating it! To get my grout clean a use a gel toilet bowl cleaner. I get it so clean this way! I nearly spit out my coffee when I saw you drying the floor. I do that very same thing!
Are you sure you can use vinegar on linoleum? I ask because I moved a month ago to a rented house with plastic tiles in the floor and the stains out of the glue that the landlord used is killing me! It looks like a sidewalk full of old chiclets, gross! I use w 40 leave it for 10 seconds and scrub with a towel tile by tile. These is killing my knees and my hips without mention I am running out of towels! Please, HELP SOMEONE!
@@carydelano5484 I actually found a better solution. Krud Kutter in the blue bottle, and a scouring pad. That’s all you need to clean a linoleum floor. The spray doesn’t leave a smell, nor does it make the floor sticky. I’ve tried a few different things, and I noticed these “natural” ways make absolutely no difference.
@@sebring31482 Thank you, the floor of my new rented home is not just dirty at the glimpse but also sticky that the sleepers stuck in the tiles and you end up barefoot. That is why I have to use W-40 and a scraper before the towel scrub. I am going to try the vinegar, soap solution, I never seen something like this floor🥵
I heard I can use WAY less soap in it. How much do you use? I put in new flooring in the kitchen so I don’t need to use it in there so much anymore but do like to use it to clean my tub.
sweaty or not, your beauty shines through! I use vinegar for just about everything, but my favorite, is as fabric softener. clothes do NOT end up smelling like vinegar at all. thanks for this video!
I fill both the bleach container and the fabric softener container in my washer. I have a gaggle of cats, some who are mad at the new ones and love to pee on stuff to let me know their feelings. The clothes come out very nice and no smell of pee or vinegar. Just got 4 bottles at 1.99 each at Superstore.

AWESOME! I've been looking for something that will clean the linoleum in my bathroom. I have a lot of hair spray build up on it - I'm thinking this might work!😀
I sprayed it on my shower door which was loaded with heavy soap scum. Waited a bit and used a wet dish scrubber pad on it . I could not believe how well it worked!
I do 1 cup of distilled white vinegar on a bucket filled with water and 1 tsp of dawn dish soap and like 15 drops of pine needle essential oil . Is the best cleaning solution for me I don't use anymore strong chemicals in my house and my tile floors are cleaned. Thank you for your recipe
OMG, you are so cute!!! FYI, I live in an area with the HARDEST water. I learned the only way to get my dishes clean (sometimes I think the hard water rinsing of dishes after use actually makes it worse) I fill my sink with some vinegar and 4x Dawn. It will get the scum and grease off. P.S. I've also been known to run my bath water and add vinegar with some kind of bubble bath (to mask the smell), as this leaves no scum on me or my bathtub.
I should try the vinegar & dawn soak on my dish rack! I have scrubbed it with all sorts of cleaners but that white, hard water stuff just won’t go away. Maybe that will work😃 I’ll do it tonight & make a short vid if the results arr good! Thanks for the idea💖
I use the regular Dawn (the blue one), very hot water and apple cider vinegar to mop my aggregate floors, it leaves my floors feeling and looking clean a lot longer than using the perfumed cleaners.
@@didileong4116 I’m so sorry, I just saw your question: I use about a tablespoon of Dawn and about 1/4 cup of vinegar to 2 gallons of hot water, when I use this combination I noticed that my floors stay cleaner longer. For the effort you used, this will use less time. Does not require mopping after. You can used pledge and a green scratch pad, it will clean the tiles like crazy. Old hack for tiles roommate and I used tiles in the barracks living quarters. They came out looking brand new.
Woo lookit that floor! Another good way (and for walls cabinets etc) is a little powdered laundry detergent in hot water. The enzymes really break down grease, gunk etc
That's what my mum used to wash our floors with, just washing powder and hot water. Worked like a charm. It's hard to find the powdered detergent now, and I've been leery of using the liquid stuff as it's so concentrated.
I use this solution all the time. I pour 1 cup of vinegar into a spray bottle, add a Tbspoon of dawn and fill with water. I don't heat it. I use it to spray in my shower and as a spray cleaner for bathroom surfaces. I use it as a deodorizer after p**ping, just flush and spray a bit into the toilet bowl. No more fruity deodorant smells., it really gets rid of stinkiest. When I mop ,I use a cup of my solution in the bucket with hot water and it works really well.
Soap and vinegar is a pretty good idea for really dirty floors. You could also use lestoil with vinegar too. The lestoil does a really good job with grease.
Omg yes I saw some in store yesterday and brought back memories. I used to clean my mom's floors as a kid with a scouring pad and lestoil and it would get everything up
I bought some 30% vinegar at Walmart to spray on some mold. Wondering if it would be too strong to use for floors? I'm trying to clean some really grimey, sticky floors for someone that just moved into an apartment. Everything else we've tried so far just can't get up whatever this residue is from the last tenant 😕
I got the vinegar from Costco (it’s just regular white vinegar). The water doesn’t have anything in it. I used clean water to remove all the soap residue after I scrubbed
They said the vinegar isn’t good for grout or hardwood. My floors were really old, cheap sheet vinyl so I had no worries about “damage” If you have nice laminate/luxury vinyl flooring, I’d say check with the manufacturer. The vinegar is very acidic.
Wow, I have never heard of heating any cleaning solution. I am looking forward to trying this on my bathroom floor. It appears to be vinyl that had a stain caused by a wet rug's rubber backing.
I don’t know the purpose of heating it other than that’s what other people said to do. I haven’t tried it without heating. It worked great on the tub too
If my water is super hot, the solution of distilled vinegar and Dawn it works even better. I use it on the inside of my all glass shower and I don’t even need to worry about streaks!
Thanks for the tip! I use it on my tub too and it definitely works better than regular cleaners I notice. I ran out & cleaned with other things the last 2 times but didn’t get as good of results. I’m also going to try use less of the Dawn when I make another batch as many people have commented they use way less & it works great. Thank you for watching! 😊

Good tip. I have those things time to tackle the bathroom here my least favorite spot in the house next. I love a good scrubbing.
I used this mix in my bathroom & it was also transformative!
WOW!!! I am going to try this on my linoleum floors for sure. Your floors look like mine and I just accepted the fact they would always be like that…thank you!!!!
It really worked well on the old vinyl. Heard not good for real tile grout though.
Wow, that worked really well. That had to feel good to see those results.
It was the only thing that really got that old grime out. I HAD actually tried cleaning it before but nothing would get that deep ground in stuff off.
Heck yeah! Now I have to watch your next video that you mentioned. BTW, when I scrub my floors, I wear knee pads! Totally saves you from the pain!
I hope you enjoyed some of my other videos😃 I recently painted the kitchen (there’s a video for that posted) & below is a link to the video where I re-do the floors w/self stick vinyl tiles. Came out great! Thank you for wstching🥰

I just love how real you are 💕
Thank you! I appreciate that☺️
Your floor looks so good! Great job! I would suggest a rinse after cleaning, but other than that, I think you did a wonderful job.
I guess it wasn’t clear on the video but I did mop it with clean water after the scrub & dried it w/a towel to make sure it wouldn’t be sudsy. A lot of people have commented that I can use a lot less of the Dawn so next time I make the mix I’ll use less😊Thank you for watching!
I guess I must have missed the rinse. I saw you shuffling around as you were drying the floors. I do that too. It sure makes it quicker. No need to wait for your floors to dry, especially since they're wood.
@@TracyAkamine maybe when your spray gets low you can just add more vinegar. The dawn in the spray bottle will go further that way
Wow, I have a few places that I'm already planning for. Thank you
WOW! I might have to try this in my bathroom. I've used several products with minimal success. This surely can't hurt my floors. They're tile.
Be aware though that I’ve heard this is not good on grout. The vinegar is too acidic and can deteriorate it.
You are so entertaining to watch and to listen to! Never knew about using Dawn and vinegar - seems like a great hack! Fun and informative video - thank you!!👍😊
You’re welcome 😃💖
My mom uses vinegar/water mixture on the regular which was recommended by her floor installer. Heating is to help with mixing, dissolving the grime. Getting the dissolved grime up no matter the solution is key. A microfiber or something to soak it up does well, a mop that smears it around does not. LA's Totally Awesome all-purpose does a great job as does the concentrate for grime buildup. I often think Dawn comes up with these hacks which work some of the time but not any better than other products. Glad you found a solution.
Well I can do that! You made it funny and fun. I need this solution to two of my under-cleaned floors, one tile and one vinyl. Subscribed!
Just fyi.
A previous EK commentor said she uses Fairy dish soap which is comparable to Dawn.
@Tracy Akamine. Your floor came out excellent. You worked hard!! You did a great job!!?👍❤️
Thanks!
You can get a scrub brush with a long handle. I wish I had thought of that before I did this video, lol
Oh hey I actually learned a few things! and what a cute dog!
Awesome! Thank you for watching😃 …and, He is a cute dog❤️🌺
I use this mixture in my bathtub but never thought about mopping my floors with it. I'm going to try it tomorrow. Thank you.
I use it in my tub & it works great!
LOL. The mixture works great in the bathtub too! 😃
That was awesome! It works to clean the bathroom and toilet, too.
Yes it does! I’ve used it to clean my tub. Works better than anything else!
Thank you for this video, it’s simple and straightforward. My linoleum floor is trash and I’ve been dreading trying to find the right way to clean it.
It really worked great! Definitely needed the towels to wipe up the excess before rinsing. Highly suggest doing that😎Hope it works out for you!
Cool! I will have to try this.
I use this in a mop bucket and I don't measure or heat it. It works great and it's pet friendly.
I heard I can use WAY less soap in it. How much do you use? I put in new flooring in the kitchen so I don’t need to use it in there so much anymore but do like to use it to clean my tub.
@@TracyAkamine a couple squirts
Thanks for sharing w/ others that it is pet friendly ! ❤
I use a squirt of dawn & 1/4C white vinegar in hot tap water, to do my floors. Works very well.
Wow! What a difference!
It was big difference!
Great job on the floors 😊
It really worked!🌺
Wow, didn't know about this hack, definitely going to try it 😲
I was skeptical but it worked great! Shoulda worn gloves though, lol.
sweaty or not, your beauty shines through! I use vinegar for just about everything, but my favorite, is as fabric softener. clothes do NOT end up smelling like vinegar at all. thanks for this video!
I use it for cleaning a lot (vinegar) but haven’t tried it in the laundry yet. Thank you!😃
I fill both the bleach container and the fabric softener container in my washer. I have a gaggle of cats, some who are mad at the new ones and love to pee on stuff to let me know their feelings.
The clothes come out very nice and no smell of pee or vinegar.
Just got 4 bottles at 1.99 each at Superstore.
@@lorimiller4301 Thank you for the tips!
I Love this stuff! I use it to wash dishes, pots and pans and bathroom. 😊
Its really great on the tub!
Finally the YT algorithm sent a video I needed to see!! A Real Person cleaning a Real Floor who doesn't own a microwave!! Are you a long lost relative🤣
Awwww thank you! 🥰 Definitely a real person over here with real dirt & real mess😂 No Pintrest worthiness over here! LOL. I am trying to improve things & do the best with what I’ve got. I recently painted the kitchen (I have a vid of that) & re-did the floors w/vinyl self stick tiles. The link is below if you want to check it out:

I found using 1:1 vinegar and Dawn in a spray bottle works wonders to clean showers. Be sure to rinse very well or it will be slippery.
I did try it on my tub & it worked great!
Looks good..can't wait to see the door.
The door got fixed!
Hi Tracy, use a long handle floor scrub brush. You can scrub better using both hands and it's not as hard on you. Love you!
Thank you!

AWESOME! I've been looking for something that will clean the linoleum in my bathroom. I have a lot of hair spray build up on it - I'm thinking this might work!😀
It would probably work well on linoleum. It works great in the tub too! I heard its not good for the grout on ceramic tiles though. Good luck!
H A!!!! Great job girl. Trying it right now. Thanks!
Hope it worked out for you!
I sprayed it on my shower door which was loaded with heavy soap scum. Waited a bit and used a wet dish scrubber pad on it . I could not believe how well it worked!
I use it on my tub too. Works better than the regular cleaners!
Mr clean poured straight on the vinyl floor cleans it so good! Just have to do a lot of rinsing.
Good to know😃Thank you!
Sending you hugs and love.
The results look great!
Thank you so much!
WOW!! That is an amazing hack!! You did a great job again👏
It came out so good! I was skeptical but it did great😃
I do 1 cup of distilled white vinegar on a bucket filled with water and 1 tsp of dawn dish soap and like 15 drops of pine needle essential oil . Is the best cleaning solution for me I don't use anymore strong chemicals in my house and my tile floors are cleaned. Thank you for your recipe
You did a great job! Thank you for sharing
Thank you for watching😊
Thank you from the opposite end of the country! I'm on the Atlantic coast. This I shall try!
Very informative. Thank you.
Thank you! I appreciate your cleaning video 👍🏻
Love this video. I totally wing it too when it comes to following directions.
I’m like that with food recipes too🤪
I have done this before and yes it works great 😊 great video
It works on the tub too😃
Thank you for sharing this! 😊😊😊❤ you’re funny and inspiring, new sub here!
I use the regular Dawn (the blue one), very hot water and apple cider vinegar to mop my aggregate floors, it leaves my floors feeling and looking clean a lot longer than using the perfumed cleaners.
what are your proportions vinegar to dawn?
what ratios do you use of vinegar, dawn and water? thank you !!!
Apple Cider vinegar is for drinking not cleaning. White distilled vinegar is for cleaning because of the high acid content. Better switch it up
@@didileong4116 I’m so sorry, I just saw your question: I use about a tablespoon of Dawn and about 1/4 cup of vinegar to 2 gallons of hot water, when I use this combination I noticed that my floors stay cleaner longer. But you would probably have to adjust this to your liking…I just eyeball the mixture every time I make it. Sure hope this helps and once again I apologize for taking so long to answer.

Good tip ,thanks for sharing
of dawn dishwashing soap it's excellent cleaner yet gentle enough to use on ducks
For the effort you used, this will use less time. Does not require mopping after. You can used pledge and a green scratch pad, it will clean the tiles like crazy. Old hack for tiles roommate and I used tiles in the barracks living quarters. They came out looking brand new.
Great video down to earth review not the usual everything has to be perfect and rehearsed reviews.
Thanks 😊 Tracy
I'm going to try this!!🥰
Let me know how it goes! And P.S: it works great on the bathtub too😏
Woo lookit that floor!
Another good way (and for walls cabinets etc) is a little powdered laundry detergent in hot water. The enzymes really break down grease, gunk etc
Thanks for the tip! I’m obviously not a good housekeeper so thats news to me, lol. I’m working on it though.
That's what my mum used to wash our floors with, just washing powder and hot water. Worked like a charm. It's hard to find the powdered detergent now, and I've been leery of using the liquid stuff as it's so concentrated.
@@carollizc I get Arm & Hammer powder detergent. It’s a good price, does the job and has a wonderful light clean & fresh scent.

Does this work on 2 sided tape?😊

Soap and vinegar is a pretty good idea for really dirty floors. You could also use lestoil with vinegar too. The lestoil does a really good job with grease.
Omg yes I saw some in store yesterday and brought back memories. I used to clean my mom's floors as a kid with a scouring pad and lestoil and it would get everything up
@@adoreivette7373 Hahahaha Once you have kids, you become like a chemist with a Ph.D. to get the floor clean. I’ve been tempted to use it on them.
We’re do I get the vinegar and what do I put in the water
I got the vinegar from Costco (it’s just regular white vinegar). The water doesn’t have anything in it. I used clean water to remove all the soap residue after I scrubbed
Can this be done on any kind of kitchen floor ?
They said the vinegar isn’t good for grout or hardwood. My floors were really old, cheap sheet vinyl so I had no worries about “damage” If you have nice laminate/luxury vinyl flooring, I’d say check with the manufacturer. The vinegar is very acidic.
Wow. Thank you for this, I'll be doing your method. Love your personality, you're so cute.
🙂
Woooooww what a transformation
i've used this mixture on my shower walls and it works great but can't kneel anymore. Any suggestions for a scrubber for the tub?
Hi. I realize this video is a year old, but I have a quick question. Should the liquid still be warm when using it? Maybe for deep cleaning you get better results with it warm, but for everyday use, maybe it doesn't matter? I probably answerred my own question, but I need validation (lol). Great video. Love your honesty and keeping it real. Thank you!
I’m not an expert but I’ve used it not warm🙂
