Re: Fred... I feel bad for her because she not only found out something truly horrible about someone she used to trust that caused her unimaginable terror for years, but also she didn't necessarily get her vengeance. I get why Gunn would want her to stay away from doing something so over the line, how it can irreversibly change a person. But he also took away her agency, something she lost for 5 whole years already. On the one hand, it's kind of him, to prevent her from hating herself for taking a life; on the other hand, he took the choice away from her by doing it for her. She didn't get to decide for herself. It's not up to him, and she may resent him for that. So his fears of losing her may come because of his own actions instead of hers. Hard to say! Looking forward to seeing the next one.

"MY EYES! " is the perfect response, Dakara. Cordy and Connor kissing is a big NOPE for me. Like you said, I can understand that Cordy doesn't remember so it's all a big question mark for her right now. But at the same time, I just don't like the idea of it. She was literally a mom figure, taking care of him as a baby.

I miss Dennis. Just abruptly ditching him to start the season was RUDE

I used to wonder that up until the final episode of the final season, as well as the continuation in comic form, Dennis was probably waiting for Cordelia to come back for years and _years._

Connor is just being an average hormonal teen going though "growing pains".(You'll see it from the "mom" side in the future.). Gunn killed the professor so that Fred wouldn't go down the path of vengeance. Lorne is just the best in the area of comedy relief, gotta love him.

My thoughts on Fred or Charles killing the professor: Fred was acting properly. Seidelle had killed people, had tried to kill Fred, was likely to kill again, and had in fact recently tried to do so. Vengeance may be a part of it, but removing a serial killer from the world is an act of (vigilante) justice, not murder. I don't think it would have affected Fred as bad as A, G, and W thought it would -- and after all, she's already been through hell.
On the other hand, Charles killed the professor to prevent Fred from becoming a murderer. That's not enough of a reason to make it good, especially not when it made _him_ a murderer. Morally, he's on much weaker ground. And he will have to live with that on his conscience, with the effects that will have on his relationships with those around him. (You're ahead, you know where this goes.) He means well, but not well enough. So Winifred will see him as one who stopped her moral act with an immoral act of his own.
Anyway, Mrs. Jayne, thanks for sharing your reaction. And watch out for those eyes...

I have to admit even though S4 of Angel had some great stand alone episodes, overall I didn't think it was as good as the others. The Cordelia/Connor potential relationship was somewhat strange and creepy, and feel the writers were trying to force this upon the viewer. It just seems so unnecessary. Fred has a lucky escape from the portal the creature appeared from, and good scene with Angel and Lilah in the car park. The Professor is obviously the one behind the disappearances, and we can can see Fred's facial anger seeking revenge. Great scene when Gunn bursts in and save Fred from becoming a person which he knows she is not, he saves the Professor from the portal but then snaps his neck and fires him straight into it. A great revenge scene.

We're ALL there with you Dakara. We were like NOPE! That's why I said early on that the writing is bad. This could have been written a whole lot differently. One that didn't turn out the way it did.

So... not a mother figure then. Connor's social graces, or lack thereof, and his one attraction experience with women being with the addict girl, as well the awkward as hell previous history with Cordelia, makes Connor's attraction to Cordelia really something that made me wince. I found your take on Wesley & Fred interesting, I'm quite open about the fact that I care very little about who's dating whom in any show, but I don't recall Fred ever being in love with Wesley. Wesley is in love with Fred certainly, though he never found the courage to speak to her about it, which was a part of the plot of the awesome ballerina episode. As for Fred though, she was always sweet & cute & caring with Wesley but she never seemed to be in love with him. I'm not even sure she ever flirted with him, but again, I could easily miss that. The love triangle between Wesley, Gunn, and Fred was with both guys being attracted to her & her being close to both but she never seemed to be in love with either until Gunn started dating her. Not to sound like I'm against your ship, I really don't care, I'm just curious about your belief that all three were in love with each other. I mean, both guys being in love with Fred & she being in love with both. I do believe you can be attracted to & even love multiple people, that seems pretty common, though being in love with multiple people is more of a polyamorous...well, that's quite literally what polyamory means. Then again, my differentiation between loving someone & being in love with someone is personal. We all have our own hearts & barometers. Fred did love them both a friends, as she loved the whole team. Though she was closest to Angel, who she was attracted to first, and Cordy, & Lorne then Wesley then Gunn.

"This relationship is so strange" .. haha .. she didn't know how much worse it could get. This storyline is the low point in the series. You just have to get through it.

    Boo. Connor sucks. Boo.
Yup. I told you all a few episodes back that we’d see Joss Whedon’s bullying and harassment of Charisma Carpenter begin to manifest in the show.
Poor girl. He was abusive to her in real life, and undertook character assassination of the Cordelia character in the show for good measure.
Between him verbally and mentally abusing several cast members, including Charisma and Nicholas Brendon, physically assaulting them, like James Masters, trying to sexually assault them, like a then-underage Michelle Trachtenberg, and boasting about humiliating and making the show writers cry, I’m completely astounded how this monster wasn’t put in jail.
Goes to show that sometimes the _real_ monsters are human.
