This Bentley Bentayga Truck started overheating randomly almost immediately after startup. It turns out there's a Common Issue on all Audi 4.0 Turbo cars; and this problem is caused by a secondary cooling system control that can cause major damage to an expensive engine... Hey Sam, I used to be a VAG tech, what usually causes these control valves to fail is actually small amounts of coolant leaking from the water pump through the vacuum port. When replacing them in cases not covered by bulletins I used to carefully check the valves and the vacuum hoses for residue, so make sure your water pump isn’t leaking as well!
I read VAG tech and had a minor stroke before I realized what it a stood for.
I was like "What in the Onlyfans!?"

They can be great, reliable and even powerful cars, like the SHO. But I can't stand when people leave the A pillar lights on and keep the black and white panels... I can usually spot them from pretty far away on the highway and usually lead the way by passing them at speed so other people realize it's not actually a police officer, which is fun, but annoying being stuck behind a train of cars thinking it's a cop ahead of them...
Hard pass. Having to do the speed limit everywhere you go for the rest of your life cuz everyone thinks it’s a cop? No thank you.

I don't even care about the cars even if it is very very informative. It's the story embedded in the repairs. Samcrac's one of my favorites even if I have to wait for weeks coz I know he doesn't want to make random vids just for clout. He makes stories.

I have the 8 cylinder VW Phaeton which has the non supercharged Audi V8 in it. It is now 20 years old and still purring like a cat. Best car I've ever owned.

Sam, I made my first million when I was a younger salesman buying police cars , going to the wrecking yard an buying complete interiors out of same model wrecked high line cars, sometimes I’d buy the nice wheels also. When finished an for sale, I could tell people it was a police car and they didn’t believe me. I’m 70 yrs old an there’s a cop Tahoe disassembled all over the back yard right now. Going to the yard tomorrow looking for black leather , I’ll think I’ll keep this one for a driver.
My son has the Atlas sel 4 motion ‘21 the best hands down. Bought brand new. All the bells and whistles. I thought it would be problematic ( back in the day Jettas🙄) it is perfect 7 seater second row captain seats. Soo spacious. And it Takes Regular gas . My 2019 Acura tech is premium only. Every bit helps. The atlas has great pickup for it to be a heavy truck but drives like a car.Thanks for sharing.

I had a 2004 Oldsmobile Aurora with a 4.0 North Star V8 and that secondary air system the pump air into the exhaust for emissions would whine and whine on startup, eventually it was simply pull the fuse and it was gone but it always kept the engine light on which sucked, nice to see that doing this didn't throw some type of engine light.

As owning a Bentley and a Ford Police Interceptor at the same time, I can tell you that both get a lot of attention but more so the Police Interceptor. There are positives and negatives to both on how you get treated on the road. The negative was so bad with the Interceptor I decided to get rid of it.

When I first seen the plastic hose on the plastic fitting I thought get a wrench or pliers down there to twist it to break it loose, but that might not fit, then my next thought would have been a small flathead screwdriver that you can slip in with your hand and get behind where the back of the rubber meets the other end and pry from there

I bought a Tiguan with 3rd row seating for $27k, 8 months old, 6k miles (was a loaner fleet vehicle) with moon roof, light grey interior. It also has all the automated drive stuff standard - you can't even get it without. The only things I don't have versus fully loaded is all-wheel drive, a slightly larger cluster screen, an R-line logo on the side, some chrome accents front and back, and an automated tailgate. But I didn't pay over 40k either.
Hope it came with extended warranty.

Walking into the Atlas after the Bentley the first thing I noticed was the cool screen but besides that all them plastics and grays and blacks, big difference in a Bentley everything had opulence to it versus plastic and simple colors

I'm a long distance truck driver in Australia. Volvo have started making semi trucks locally. Since October 2022, in 2 companies I've had 6 brand new Volvo trucks with a 7th on the way. I'm a qualified mechanic.
Man the stupidity begins the moment you open the driver's door. The fire extinguisher ring is the same size and almost in the same location as the toolbox door ring. We work at night like WTF??
Then there's the windscreen washers and trailer brake arm on the steering column where you go to wash a bug off the windscreen and you apply the trailer brake. Then there's the wiper washers that are on the wiper arm but don't wash the screen in the field of vision. Then there's the proximity of the heater control to the diff lock controls - both knobs being of similar size and in a similar location, so when you're reversing up a driveway at an angle and you need to engage one of the diff locks by feel, you feel for the diff lock knob and turn the heater on (only other truck drivers might know what I'm talking about but it's a thing because the diagonally opposite wheels spin and you stop particularly when you're loaded and reversing up a driveway).
Then there's the cruise control buttons that the meat of your thumb on the steering wheel rests exactly where the cruise cancel button is. Then there's the endless visual and audible warnings that divert your attention from the key task of driving for utterly frivolous reasons - the visual warnings even takes away your view of the tacho. You keep acknowledging them but they just keep coming back.
The clustering of the windows and side mirror buttons are arranged in a way that forces you to take your eyes off the road (driving a truck is not like driving a car. A 1 second look away and you're on the wrong side of the road). The down button on the driver's window frequently makes the window go up. Changing from AM to FM on the radio requires very precise procedure - more eyes off the road. A bump in the road causes your right hand to knock a steering control changing the main instrument screen meaning more eyes off the road to put it back.
Layer, upon layer of insanity.
Very obviously a team that wouldn't know how to drive a stick up a dog's arse, let alone a truck has designed and signed off on all this.
The layers of stupidity are beyond comprehension. Who designs this stuff? Over the years I've driven many trucks and without hesitation these Volvos are the most dangerous truck for driver distraction I've ever driven. In the last 18 months I've got over 1,000hrs in these things. Over reliance on tech, poor ergonomics gone mad.
They have some good points but I'm not talking about those.
