Not just WoW - all of Blizzard. One of my favorite jokes was before Diablo III came out, and they "released" that you could play as an Archivist class. Basically, Deckard Cain shuffling around and attacking with books and such. Cracked me up. Also, last year or the year before, they had a link that you could use to translate any webpage into Murloc-speak. These maybe aren't the most insane April Fool's jokes, which is maybe why none of them made the list, but I look forward to what Blizzard comes up with every year, even if I don't play much of their stuff currently.

haha the ponies were great, dont think i ever sat down and played joke content so long. the only other one that rivaled it for me was world of tanks 8 bit battles. not only was it super fun but the rewards were amazing. you could super level a crew and get multiple skills in no time.
warships made one recently that made the entire game play out in a tub or hand sink, where you played as toy boats, and map obstacles were rubber duckies and soap bars

Hands down, my favorite prank is probably Metal Gear Solid (PS1). The prank was this: first beat the game with the normal ending where you get the Bandana (infinite ammo) as quickly as possible, then going to beat the game on the secondary ending and get the stealth camo (invisibility), and when you play the game the third time through you should be cyborg ninja, Grey Fox. What actually happened was, when you finally meet Gray Fox in the game (because you didn't actually get to play as Gray Fox on the third round) he is no longer his normal colors, but he is now red and blue. I got to tell you, I tried for this so many times and was so angry when it did not happen. I finally looked it up years later and realized how much of a prank it was and was really pissed. Thanks, Hideo Kojima, for screwing with everyone.
