    The CD Colour (which were actually a dark shade of purple, I believe) had nothing to do with the protection: the legit discs actually had a "wobble" of sorts, marked near the edge of the disc, which was different to a regular CD-ROM's "wobble". This is a common mistake amongst the beliefs about the copy protection, but regardless I enjoyed the video thoroughly :)

    • @miragesnworlds
      @miragesnworlds Год назад +5

      This is correct. There was however a video tour of a sony pressing factory for ps1 games where the voiceover claimed the dark ink in the cds was piracy protection. So some people believe that sony was promoting the dark color as an anti piracy measure to throw people off the scent of the actual DRM method

    I will never forget going from NES, Sega, N64, and finally PS1. I popped in this little game I rented called Medal of Honor and the controls frustrated me. The left stick let me move and the right stick let me control the camera. I was so used to N64 and only needing one analog stick. It was like learning how to play guitar or throwing a baseball with my left hand. It was incredibly frustrating and I was pissed off. I shut it down and came back later when I cooled off. Think about that for a second. We take for granted the Xbox and PlayStation controller but at that time, it was new and difficult to learn when we were all used to D-Pad controls and N64 with only one analog stick. Haha!

It also had convex analog thumb sticks standard and it was only sold in Japan.

Very labor intensive . But it is worth it to have full screen two player games. Vigilante 8 or Crazy Ivan got a lot of play. Command & Conquer was a lot of fun, mean cut throat play against my roommates

    Those black CDs did look very cool. Those demo CDs... Nostalgia. They should have kept CDs black or dark blue.

    The Net Yaroze was actually always that dark gray 'black' tint. The ocean blue and green ones were debug units.

    51. the very 1st PS1 model had an S-video port but it was cut in a 2nd model. Later later model also cut an RCA connector (those yellow, red, white ports).

    A lot of things? I didn't know a lot of these things actually. I did know about the Nintendo thing and all that stuff. But the first "PSVR" thing, the phone connecting to PS1 and then downloading games etc, nope, didn't knew that! So thank you for all this man! You are the only one i actually follow when it comes to Playstation, also, i'm from Belgium, so your reach is far and beyond 😜 Again, thank you for all the video's :-)
