Train with me on my app doing my actual weekly program | 7-Day Free Trial | $8.99/mo 📲 www.myliftfitness.com/training-app IMPORTANT INFO ➡️ This all comes down to the origin and insertions of the different fibers of the traps. Here’s the breakdown for you: UPPER TRAPS | the fibers run horizontally and therefore help to retract the scapulae (as shown in the first 3 exercises of the video - to varying degrees I suppose) MID TRAPS | the fibers run horizontally AND have some fibers that run more vertically. Therefore they help to elevate the scapulae (like on a traditional standing DB shrug - how much this occurs may depend on exactly how you do them I suppose) as well as retract the scapulae (like the first 3 exercises shown in this video) LOWER TRAPS | the fibers run more vertically. They originate on the spine & insert on the lower portion of the scapula. Therefore, they help depress the scapulae (pull them downward) which is what happens on an exercise like the final one I show here - the standing plate raise - when the arms need to be pulled back overhead Massive credit to Paul Carter here. He’s a wealth of knowledge & his content has been helpful to me. Particularly in my understanding of the fiber orientation of both the upper traps & mid traps. If you do not follow him, do so. The Bible says that no one is a good person. We have all broken God's law the 10 commandments, we have all committed, lies, adultery, idolatry, and blasphemy. We deserve hell, but because of what Jesus did on the cross we can be forgiven. So if you Repent of your sins, change your wicked ways, and put your faith in Christ you will be written in the book of life. 👌 🙏Repentance is reviewing one's actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, which is accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better..
@@TmacPlushVideosYes brother. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Believing that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and that He raised again is how we are saved. Not by obedience or by being good
i love that you're describing how it feels so people can work on there form. like ur descriptions are a lot more memorable than somebody just telling you proper form. love the content keep it up👍🏼👍🏼
I agree that the kelso shrugs are an underutilized exercise, but a standing shrug is also effective for building the traps because the traps help control all shoulder movements, whether its up, down, forward, or back.
They sure do! You’re absolutely right. Upright shrugs are not a bad choice for the mid trap fibers. Just not the upper trap fibers (mistake I made in the past)
You are by far the best descriptor of how workouts should feel and what it targets. Very important have an idea in your head what you should do for proper form
I just want to say that one of my dream careers was being a personal trainer or some kind of coach. These shorts of yours. Have been more informing, more entertaining. Than any book, any lecture I've watched, and it's making me realize that I should really try for that dream again. Thank you
The enthusiasm you have for what u do, and the detailed descriptions of the muscles and extremely detailed instructions of how to perform the exercises, make your content very fun to watch. Thank you man. Keep up the good work and channel.
I love that you really work your muscles in these vids, makes it super easy to see whats going on and what proper form should feel like, thank you!! Added a lot of exercises ive seen on your channell to my routine!!
Really?? I don't call them that but I always incorporate a lean when doing shrugs. You can also do shrugs as if you were doing spider curls on an incline bench. Trap muscles fan out from your lower neck to your shoulders, so you have to hit them at that angle. Use a cable machine and stand sideways. Put the handle about calf muscle height. Take a step away. Your arm will be at about a 30 degree angle. Shrug up and pull in. Now you're hitting the upper Traps in the direction they flow.
Dude, I just started back in the gym from the whole covid thing . And you my freind, are motivation. Im a lil older, thus getting my body use to the punishment of looking sick. I was going slow and controlled, now, ima go hurt myself, thanks 😊
Mid traps have been a weakness for me ,I just had no idea how to target them (rowing worked ...ok...but I sensed I could do better) now I know how to .Thank you
I really appreciate the cues you give, so many of them have helped me create a mind muscle connection in places I was having difficulty before. Thank you
Thank you! My god so many instagram back workouts are completely lat dominant and dont even emphasise the traps. If you’re doing chin ups and barbell rows to your hips for your main back day movements you’re on a one way trip to muscle imbalance and kyphotic postural issues.
I'm a 15kg dumbell with 10kg band home workout guy but i tell you what ,Your workouts are the most BADASS i have ever done!! I suggest a new name for your channel "BADASSS DAVIS DILEY".

Kelso shrugs...This is the 1st time ever seeing these. I cannot wait to implement exercise into my workout!! Thank You God Bless!!
You and your videos are in a league of their own. In my opinion superior to everyone else I’ve seen on RUclips!!!
tons of useful info, with sick editing, coherent brief explanations, all under a minute! GOAT fitness RUclipsr
Thanks so much

Shrugs and farmer walks with plates have helped me grow traps the most.
@@N7408-f7x trap bar shrugs and kelso shrugs helped me a lot too

Trap 3 raise is also fire for the lower traps
Your videos are the best
bro has the perfect physique
Best videos and always right to point. These are the best. Do you do this one tik tok?
Sure do! Glad you enjoy!
yep.
found this exercise about 6 months ago.
it's the best for traps.
The upper trap fibers are actually more vertically oriented. That's why it's called trapezius descendens (= going down)
I loved how ken used the mail thing like three times at the start and forgot about it
T-Bar rows is essentially the same movement and targets traps, posterior deltoids, and latissimus dorso.
Super effective and efficiently
Dude's, don't forget that a positive protein balance during muscle protein synthesis is what actually makes the muscles grow! Exercise only help triggering the Muscle protein synthesis process
