You can also use stock 99-00 Civic EX shift linkage for a b-series swap. That's what I'm using on my b16a3 swap in my 99 ex and it works fine.

I'm planning to do that swap on my Ej8.
But wiring wise I'm going to use a dx obd2 wire harness and just extend the plugs to the connectors on the engine and use a Obd2 ECU from a 98 Acura integra GS or LS to pass California Air Bureau inspection.
In California swaps engine and ecu have to match year in a same year chassis or older. And Can't mix Obd1 with Obd2.
I had that engine swapped into my ej2 before running with the P06 ecu but according to CARB I need a 94 acura integra ECU to finish my swap.
Last I know...
Now that it’s been a year, you got any advice for the ej8 specifically? I’m about to do it myself so any info is appreciated

Kiss your legal inspections good bye lol. Swaps are relatively cheap. Depending on witch one you want. Ls b18 or B20 run for around 500 motor only. Now if you want serious power a b18c gsr will run around 3,500 and they go up from there.

Joseph Tessora driving manual is great, you should learn and ditch the auto, you’ll love it. K swaps are expensive, usually around $4.5k full swap, b series are a lot less expensive.

Question: what do I do when I am short a port on the B20Z block?. The B18b I removed there was an oil pressure sensor, a oil Temperature sensor, and a Coolant Temperature Fan switch. The B20z does not have a port for the Coolant Temp Fan Sensor, but there appears to be a spot on the block that could be drilled and taped to take the sensor. Your Ideas would help. I need to keep the sensor for the AC that I am keeping too

If u go turbo don't swap to a vtec head just spend more money on a turbo

Cam Liddle I heard the rear mount doesn't align properly and has pop out issues. Who knows. I use the ebay hundred dollar mounts and they work fine. Just kinda stiff.

I’m wondering same thing I got a 00 civic obd2b d16 y7 with a 97 integra b18b1 obd2 a just stumped on the wiring connections if I can run the b series harness to the ecu from the integra or do I have to use the d16 ecu and the the Obd2b-a adapter !?

i watch the whole vid, so please answer me :i can be able to pick up a b18b with gsr lsd trans for 1k and its basically a running car and comes with alot of un-install aftermarket parts but chasis is junk and planning to swap it into my ek sedan (is it worth it?)

If you're running a obd1 ecu you don't need the crank sensor

What about small things like throttle cable, any plugs on the harness that are different, any other brackets? Theirs no way you just had to get mounts axles and radiator hoses??
ej8_felipe I 100% agree. I had an obd1 del sol with a obd1 b20b and it was plug and play. And I wanna swap it into my obd2 EK and it’s a bit more than he’s has mentioned
Yup he left out alot of details. And yeah you'll need an si or Integra throttle cable. You'll need an si rear T bracket, they sell mounts that bolt up to the engine without using any factory parts just depends on the ones you like. You can use si or Integra axles, and in my case I kept my factory harness on a 96 ek hatch and swapped in a 96 b18b1 I was able to use the b18 ecu plug n play. But yeah you'll have some extra wires dangling like the ones for the o2 sensors. Just a few but car should run fine.
