You probably dont care but if you are bored like me atm you can stream all of the latest movies on Instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother recently xD
hey Gorden seems like exhaust work is always a PITA . I see you use the preformed stainless clamps to. I never had any luck with the flat ones ,I never could get them to pull down even and form right
Perfect teaching style. Your videos are perfect for students. Where do we send our donations for all of your hard work and sharing your experience with tommorows mechanics?
Good job. So much more of a headache when the manufactures make things shorter, thinner and with cheap materials just to save 5 cents. It's ridiculous. I'm surprised you didn't just make a new flat plate for the mount on the lower part so the clamps would line up, but I do know how that is.
They don't make OEM parts for that truck anymore so at least they have after market parts that will fit with a little persuasion but they don't last long.
I always enjoy watching your videos, Gordon. Something that I did when I replaced the stack on my Pete was putting anti seize on the joint between the stack and the muffler. Made it SO much easier to pull it apart on the second go around.
He said the muffler and 3 batteries were five hundred bucks. The muffler was probably $75 or so. They aren't very expensive but they don't last more than 3 or 4 years. I have the same mufflers and they all fail at the same place that Gordon's did. The factories could reinforce this area, but they wouldn't sell as many mufflers over the years.
That price includes 3 truck batteries - that's surprising to me anyway - I figured those truck batteries would be $500.00 themselves - they screwed you on shorting that pipe - had to modify it - that can be done - did they have a short extension for that pipe - you got it done though
Donald Ellett if that flex pipe wasn't so expensive he could just use that to make up for the short pipe but either way it is on another great video by the way
I just happened to see this vid tonight , I'm changing the muffler on my International but I found that my elbow had a hole in it so it has to wait till morning to try to buy an elbow. My muffler rotted out just like yours I changed my flex pipe in the spring and it was only 5 years old and it hasn't seen lots of miles because I just use the truck for my ranch hauling cows and hay so the flex pipe was just cheap made crap.
I think you can buy a higher priced pipe, I know I can, but I'm too cheap to go for that. Exhaust is one place you get what you pay for. Thanks for watching and subbing.
The 90 should not be put inside the flex pipe. With the band clamp you would be perfect for you're stack bracket. The reason for the band clamp is to avoid joining pipe that way.
The 90 should be in the flex pipe. I have fixed them both ways, and believe me, the band clap will fail quickly if the pipe is not inserted into the flex pipe. Like in 2 weeks.
does any one use never sieze on those clamps.mecanic coated both ends of pipe and clamps bunch of grey melted shit every were.makes me nausouse driving the truck 2001 kenworth w900 boss said he heard allot of mecanics doing that.i havent seen anybody else do that yet would you do it with never sieze? yes or no.
I never heard of putting anti seize on exhaust but a lot of people use muffler and exhaust sealer to prevent leaks, it is a light grey putty that resist high heat. New exhaust pipes usually have clear paint on them to protect from rust in storage, this paint like coating does smell for a day or two from the exhaust heat, that's normal.
If you want a good GoPro type camera that wont break your bank check out a Gitup git2 action camera. They have very good video, use the go pro mounting systems and are one of the very few action cameras you can add a external mic to.
I appreciate the tip on that, I am looking for something, I really need one that does not distort the video too much, the wide angle view is out of the question, I could not use that on doing Bobcat work or anything that needs proper depth perception.
They offer one without a fisheye lens and they also offer other lens for longer range shots. The only disadvantage of using different lens is that you cannot use a waterproof case. But to get good camera that is 150 dollars vs a 400 dollar gopro it is worth it, especially using a external mic, you get much better audio and can add a dead cat to the mic and wind will not affect your audio at all.
Sounds like what I'm looking for, I think I'll call B&H in NYC and talk to them, I saw some mounts I was interested in on their web site. Do you know another site I might look at?
I bought right from the company they have a good site. B&H does not sell the model without the fisheye lens as far as I know. The model you want is reference number or product code GIT2-sp 4.35mm this one has the 90 degree lens. I am not sure if it will come with a mic but they are very cheap or you can buy another brand its up to you. They usually give them if you buy the bundle that comes with a bunch of mounts and stuff.
I would take all that aftermarket crap and return it to who ever you bought it from. Those parts are a disgrace, and you " dealer" shouldn't be selling them.
So far you make the best step by step videos I've seen. Keep going boss man.
Thanks Steve. Good to hear positive comments.
Thank you for the information!! Good tip about that lip on one end of the muffler! 👍
Straight pipe it. That’s the first thing I do when buying a truck. Take the muffler off. Lol

Thank you for the tip God bless you🙏👍👍👍👍👍
Why did you buy the shorter pipe - only size available - was that muffler about $500.00 or so

I'm straight piping my rig. I just can't find any shop in Georgia to perform the work. 😡
How long did that take - 2 hours ?????
Thank you so much🙏
Thanks for watching Fabian.
im a flat bed driver too! shot out from chicago.
Hi Joe. Sorry I didn't answer your post the other day. I'm too busy right now to keep up with everything. Thanks for watching and commenting.

and tighten the band clamps down all the way or they will leak
Get a longer piece of flex pipe issue fixed
