Thanks for this, it has cleared a couple of things up. Similar to you two, I was gripped and frustrated in the film in equal measures. Could you offer me a few thoughts please? 1) How did William end up with the red cap in his pocket at the end (or was it him on camera all along?)? 2) The ending of the killer picking up the letters for cheating gf (Sheryl)...what was that purpose? 3) The boyfriend who was cheated on driving past her house at the end? 4) The photo of Lili in the mirror at the end? Thank you again, it would be good to get your interpretation.
As frustrating as it was to get to the not so bad ending point imo. At least you're trying to make sense of it or how it fits together. If the movie keeps you even a little engaged afterwards it's better than seen and forgotten when the credits roll. I think Kali is right. The murder shot and killed our main protagonist, claimed self defense and just made it look like he's in deep shock with holding out in the bathroom. And since he was the missing person it could seem that the police thinks its the other way around than it actually was considering who's the kidnapper. And since the author had some run ins with the police through his behavior after his wife's death they didn't invest thoroughly enough. The stuff with the friend and his girlfriend was perhaps just a red herring? 🤔 Thanks for being the only channel with a review of the movie. 😎

Great ending, but sad. Why did he kill those people, why them????? He was shot in the dark.......
