Blue belt and I’ve gotten into a habit of attacking from bottom side control. I mean it’s fun having funky subs from there but ive gotta stop being lazy and learn tk progress to dominant positions. This video is great. I know what I’m drilling next.
As always excellent tutorial. The first one I do a lot. The other two. I’ll have to watch for those to happen. Usually in that position I push up on the bottom of the chin. Trying to create pressure to make them lean back. But I will use those other two for certain. Much more control and I like being in control. Thanks so much Sensei.
genius moves Eli! very smart fighting there, love all your vids intense and wise techniques. Seems you have the solution to any dilemma that may arise on the ground. Much much respect, Osu! Ha just realized I'm one year late in reply, Peace!
Osu, I did 7 yrs of MMA had to stop 3 yrs ago but between the kickboxing and the jiu jitsu jiu jitsu won easily even though i lovvvve kickboxing i think jiu jitsu practicioners understand the love of the art, i always watched utube for hours before going to roll and used to use at least 2 moves to submit others with because others were not doing their homework like i was so it was over their heads, I watch ufc now and DO NOT understand where the jiu jitsu went?As it is so underused, SAD! Keep it up Brother Jiu Jitsu 4 L I F E!
I get keylock, kimura, and baseball choke from bottom side control fairly often too. Subs from the bottom are the least expected, so no one thinks to defend them.
Thanks for this video. As I'm not tall, this kind of positions help me a lot. If you have more this sort of position, that can help smaller opponents against bigger and stronger ones, it would be good. I'd really appreciate your attention!!! Anyway... Thanks in advance!!! Cheers, Mate!!! =]]
+Renato Jucá Absolutely. I've spent many years in these types of positions so I've had to get some solid ways out. I'm happy to show more examples. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the question! And this version would be applicable for a punching opponent. The way I monitor the top opponent's arm to prevent it getting under my head is the same way I would monitor for punch prevention. And if he wanted to reach farther back, the same sequence would still apply.
Videos like this on how to get out of bad spots are probably the most important videos you make! Thanks for the great details in these.
Great sequence. This is the first time I've seen so much detail surrounding the arm-push escape from side control. Thanks.

👍 The Americana from the bottom... Interesting 🤔 I like the "three options, one theme" concept ... great stuff!

Best BJJ channel with grappling academy
Thank you!
Very simple but effective escapes, the type of shit that’s actually useful and understable regardless of skill level thanks for the help
Great vid, just what I was looking for,I always get caught in side control 🙏👍
Awesome! I hope it helps. Thank you.
Excellent video and excellent break down of the technique

Love this! Thanks so much.
Thank you for watching it!
My go-to BJJ channel :)
That’s awesome! Thank you!
Awesome!👍🏻🥋
this dude rocks
That ending looks like a great counter to the pillow choke by actually pillow choking the top guy!
Great techniques! OSS!
🙏🙏🙏
Story of my bJJ life being stuck under bigger, stronger guy in Side Mount and cannot get up .. Very frustrating.
Good moves
very useful
I do that Keylock from bottom all the time-I also look for other submissions from bottom that should not be such a taboo idea

you are the best
Great! Great Great!

Knight Jiu-Jitsu Cheers!!!
I appreciate your work!!! 😀👍
JUST GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
I know guys who would counter that americana with wrist locks. The wrist locks would enter way faster with a really damaging result.
What if he posts his leg when you bridge?
+Angelo Tartaglione If I understand the question and moment right, it’s about changing the angle or going back to replacing the guard.
Knight Jiu-Jitsu thanks
Os
can we see a street version?? Escaping side control when the are trying to punch you??

Knight Jiu-Jitsu thank you sir. I will try to practice this escape! Cool to have another option then just trying to get guard back!
The first detail about blocking the arm is definitely very applicable to street and the opponent punching you. Great stuff.
