May I just say: RUclips comments are stereotypically a hellscape ("never read the comments section!"), but this space is wholesome every week. Y'all are alright 🙌🏻💙 Also Doug is even cooler than I thought he was at the end of last week lol -- thanks so much to you all!
Guys, if at all possible, PLEASE interview Andy Serkis! Then you’ll have had the king of creature acting AND the king of motion-capture acting on your show!
Loved Doug in What We Do In The Shadows(series), he eventually got the chance to appear without prostetics for a while in there, and he was a total treat finally♡ such a sweet person, I hope he gets more roles as a "regular human" as long as he keeps acting and that we get to see his lovely real face more often!
The ending of Pan's Labyrinth is the scale by which I measure sad movies. I cried so hard I got a nose bleed, which freaked me out because the character Ofelia's nose was bleeding too. True story.
Since this tuna casserole recipe is mushroom heavy, I would assume these precious little hobbits would love it! I think it’s clear that Pippen is digging it. Lol!
Superb episode. Doug was a pleasure to listen and watch. His anecdotes were so very interesting and entertaining. Apropos of that, i was left delighted for not one, but two distinct things he shared that i haven't heard or thought about for years. 1. Was the mention of one of my favourite comic book artists, who is rarely mentioned within the greats.. Bernie Wrightson. (Look up with work such as Swamp Thing and Batman) 2. "Somewhere in Time" as his favourite movie. A beautiful and emotional movie, that I've never heard mention of since i watched it in the 80s. I respect his choice, for sure. Cheers to the Friendship Onion, and Doug. The nostalgia was truly appreciated. ✨🙏🏼
such a great part 2!! Doug talking about his experiences with Guillermo del Toro is something I could hear for ever. Im a big fan of Del Toro's work and so happy he brings a part of our culture (Mexican) to all he films.
Growing up, my mom used to make us grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup (you have make the tomato soup with milk instead of water though). That is one of the most iconic meals I can remember. -Joshua St. Louis, MO
Lol when they were talking about the strange film about a blind song going skating 😂 58:37 "Oh, hang on, here comes Jonny Clues to tell us that it probably WASN'T a story about a song going skating..."
Great work guys. I do hope your wife wasn’t listening though Billy. Ice castles and the song took me back. In Australia tuna pasta bake is quite popular. Basically, tuna, cream, veg, pasta baked in the oven with breadcrumbs and cheese on top.🤤😋
@@ladymalai I went once when living in WI. Wanted a change of scenery. Instead of going through MI, where I'm from, I went WI and the UP. The beaches on Rte 2 were absolutely gorgeous. It was in the spring before tourist season hit hard. Unfortunately, a student missed an exam, so I had to come back after 3 days. Because of that movie, I've always wanted to visit in the fall.
Another amazing episode, something that you could both try on eat the world might be the durian fruit could be an interesting episode. Thanks guys keep up the good work, I always look forward to this every week :)
Beside being the great actor, Doug is also such an amazing person.. and I wish him all the best in the world. He so deserves that. Also, I hope that somebody will put that Calgary convention on line. It looks like you, guys, had such a great time.
I need to email you guys - I’ve got a family recipe for strawberry rhubarb pie and my rhubarb is going crazy in my yard right now. I’ve already made 4 pies this spring!!! My grandparents house, which because my parents house, had rhubarb growing in it. So we always had that pie. Then when I moved across the street from my parents, there was a different variety growing in my yard! Now my parents rhubarb bit the dust, I don’t know how long it lasts. But now I am the one person in my family having to supply everyone with the pie, or at least the rhubarb. I would make it for you but I don’t think it travels well - however, I could send you the rhubarb!
Another wonderful and hilarious episode! Loved hearing you guys talk a little bit about Dean Martin! Interestingly, he worked as a bartender's assistant very near my hometown when he was 17 in Newport, Kentucky (which was a precursor to Las Vegas in the U.S.)! He and Frank Sinatra later frequented the city along with a number of other celebrities of the time. Would love to know what Billy's favorite Dean Martin song is!
Tongue twister 😩😵💫 Let's have a little talk about tweetle beetles 🪲from Fox in Socks by Dr. Suess: When beetles fight their battles in a bottle with their paddles and the bottle's on a poodle and the poodle's eating noodles, they call this a muddle puddle tweetle poodle beetle noodle bottle paddle battle
With The Rings of Power well on the way later this year, my question for you is how do you think the process of expanding Middle Earth in a TV show today will differ from your experiences filming The Lord of the Rings trilogy 20 years ago? What are some of the challenges? How would The Lord if the Rings be different if it were being made today? Love the podcast and keep up the incontrovertibleness!
Happy synchronicity -- two weeks ago I bought the Paramount/Showtime bundle, mostly for the new Star Trek serieseseses and Dexter. Star Trek did not disappoint and, if you're a Gene Roddenberry fan and had any psychedelic experiences, you'll be glad to know mycologist Paul Stamets has been pulled into Star Trek: Discovery. They took his whole name: Paul Stamets is now ALSO part of Star Trek which bodes well for viewers. The actual Paul Stamets is a fucking genius, a wizard.
Have a glorious hardback copy of the Bernie Wrightson-illustrated Frankenstein. Doug would be a perfect fit for that particular iteration of the creature. Someone green-light this project immediately!
I'm so glad that Somewhere in Time is somebody's favourite film. That messed me up watching it as a kid because I just couldn't handle Superman dying at the end.
Loved the podcast, but can I just say, Dom you looked amazingly sexy this week. 🤩😎 Found myself drooling a little, watching you doing the commercial for Shopify! 😅🙈😂 Your hair was perfect just there. 😃😉
Sorry I'm 3 months out of date, I'm trying to catch up! Just wanted to say that I was excited to hear someone share my not-so-popular opinion that Dean > Sinatra 😁
Wow......the guy who played the iconic monster in Pan's Labyrinth just seriously wants to be a crappy Hallmark (the channel, not the actor) dad in a silly sweater. Oi vey, how life comes at you in curve balls. xD I would have thought these magNIFICENT and cultural icons he's been would BE the mountain top.
Now over many years now, Doug and me have had some really nice conversations, , which before have included 'Loveley Lawrence' and 'Thanks mate' but I tried to recruit him for a film, which to be fair, I may hit up you pair too:D anyhoo, this was the nicest reject letter, I have ever had, of f course, it was from an old pro like Doug fuckingJones, love this guy so much. I had, or chatted mildly to Doug Jones, and of course I tried to recruit him for my latest thing:D My favourite disappointment for the week:D Doug Jones Lawrence Diamond Best Of luck to you with this. I won’t be of any help, as time won’t permit, but I wish you well.

A pint at the green dragon and some old Toby, with these lads, describes true happiness
Love Doug's performance in Star Trek Discovery and the two Hellboy movies. Such a amazing guest!

This is one of your best episodes. I cried from laughter more than once here
Ah, that's where I've seen Doug Jones, Star Trek: Discovery. My fav Start Trek is DS9. Thanks for having Doug Jones on!

My mom would make that exact tuna casserole, but she would sprinkle crushed Lays potato chips on the top. DELICIOUS.
I don't care much to meet "celebs" but the three men in this video, I'd love to hang out with.
My husband's favourite film is Somewhere in Time. You have good taste Doug!
They have some songs out that only dogs listen too, hahaha
Wonderful podcast!
And I thought I was a Nerd...I aspire to the level of Nerd-dom these two have reached.
