Guy Branum is an American comedian, writer, and actor best known as the head writer of, and a sketch performer on, X-Play on the G4 network and as a regular panelist on Chelsea Lately on the E! network. He used to host the podcast Pop Rocket on the Maximum Fun network, and hosted TruTV's Talk Show the Game Show.

Hopefully someone will get this to them, but at some point I'd love Billy Boyd to talk indepth about Master and Commander, it's such a brilliant movie with amazing sound design and he plays a great character in it which also shows off his range. I imagine filming must have been so different being a ship and it came out same year as Return Of The King so I wonder if working schedules clashed at all.

Master and Commander was great, my father has read many of the Aubrey-Maturin books by Patrick O’Brian. The only thing he had a gripe about was the fact that they swapped out an American ship for a French one. Sad that they couldn’t make a historical movie depicting the USA as the bad guys. Shame they only made the one movie, however there are rumors of a prequel.

Just saw Dom a few hrs ago at Comic-Con! I'm sure he was there likely to promote the Moriarty project. I literally walked by a Moriarty poster next to some sand castles and there were some big guys in black suits standing near it. I saw the poster noticing Dom and started to wonder if he was around. I then walked almost all the way around the convention center for about 45 mins and started walked back to the same spot from the opposite direction and suddenly I see those same bodyguards escorting a guy in a white/cream colored shirt down the sidewalk without much "todo", casually walking along among other people and I look up at his face and it's Dom. First time I've seen him in person after following his career since LOTR. I said something like "Dom, love you work" as I passed by but I could tell I said it a bit too quite so I doubt he heard me. I bet he was on his way to be interviewed at the Hard Rock Hotel. I know they interview actors there in the rooms with the big windows right near the Gas Lamp sign on Fifth.
My favorite animated film is Princess Mononoke, i think its Studio Ghibli's best film, i recommend it to everyone especially Lord of the Rings fans! Dom go watch it!

I wanted to take a second to comment on the usefulness of cobbler: when I was growing up in the summertime my mom would hand my brother and I each a large souvenir cup (think like stadium event large drink cup) and tell us if we each brought back a full cup of blackberries she would make us a cobbler. Obviously every time she offered this we’d spend hours outside picking blackberries. Only now as a mom have I realized that this most likely bought my mom at least an hour or two of silence in the house and also a cobbler in the evening 🤣 so I think she’d rate it a 10/10!

Hi Billy and Dom! Just adore your chemistry and friendship together and I wish you the very best on your podcast! My goodness this takes me back to my younger years! With animated shows i have to agree with Dom on Pixar film Inside Out - can’t watch it at all without crying. As a 46 year old woman I remember watching all sorts of animated shows as a kid. Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, Looney Tunes, Wacky Races, GummI Bears, Thundercats. Belle and Sebastian, The Raccoons along with The Mysterious Cities of Gold etc
Dogtanian and the Muskerhounds I remember very well too!

May I just recommend an on screen text to warn when there’s technical malfunctions incoming. Around 32 minutes in when it cuts black the first time that would have been a good time for that. Loved the show and it’s only a recommendation, not a demand.

As I understand it, in Lightyear, its not that Lightyear is a real person in that world; its a movie in that world. So the Buzz toy comes from the movie, the same way that Woody comes from the TV show Woody's Round-up.

I havent seen the movie yet but i feel like its buzz lightyear in the buzz lightyear universe so its like his “backstory” as a toy. But he is still just a toy so the backstory is fake if that makes sense well thats what i think.

I love Guy Branum, and this is such a nice guest to have! However, I have a small quibble. Dom wearing the leather glove...is distracting, in a horny way. I have previously participated in BDSM, and all I could think of is an entirely different Dom (as in Dominant) wearing those gloves, during a scene...🔥🌶
Home made peach ice cream with a topping of tart peach's is about the best thing ever. That said, I doubt a commercial peach ice cream can be made that would taste nice after being in a store fridge for any length of time. Something best had fresh or not at all. Just my opinion.

Went into this episode not knowing who Guy Branum was. This turned out to be one of the best episodes so far. All three people were hilarious throughout, and it was awesome to hear about Guy's love for the LOTR books and how much they and the films meant to him. Great episode.
When they did the low note, sounded just like the Sardaukar chant from the latest Dune movie.

Hello and thanks for today’s podcast. You asked for more swear word suggestions. I came up with some ideas a while ago and tried posting them in response to one of your Instagram stories - which means they probably were lost quickly. So I venture to re-post the ideas here. Generally, I’m not happy about using curse words (though we have a somewhat more versatile and non-sexual-themed array of them in Danish than there is in English, so I am sometimes tempted to employ them). But if they should be placed in The Lord of the Rings without committing extensive sacrilege, I would place them here:
Fellowship of the Ring, Frodo on Weathertop: “Put it out, you bloody fools!”
The Two Towers, Gollum, reiterating his warning about following the lights after he saves Frodo in the Dead Marshes: “Don’t fucking follow the lights!!!”
The Return of the King, Treebeard to Gandalf at Isengard: “Young master Gandalf, I'm glad you've come. Wood and water, stock and stone I can master, but there's a goddamn wizard to manage here, locked in his tower." Love from Signe

@@odothedoll2738 If you're not specifically looking for a physical copy but insist on paying for an official version, the game has seen a few re-releases over the years, you've got ports on both the Xbox 360 and PS3's online stores although I'm not sure about the availability of those now that the consoles are getting old plus the 360 version is missing the cgi cinematics which may or may not be a big deal to you (there isn't a lot of them in the game at all, but it's a bit of added flair), then there's the more recent Ps4 version which I hear is fine but includes re-recorded English voiceovers. Again, may or may not be an issue to you.
With all that said, even if it is "semi-legal" in a lot of countries, emulation is your friend if you prefer a solid port of the old console original on PC. SOTN being the giant it is in gaming history, you've got quite easy access to top quality roms of the game.

You guys should try and get 2019's World Strongest Man & 2021 Rogue Invitational winner, Martins Licis on the show as a guest and he can talk about training Billy to become a Strongman! He lives in SoCal so he's in the area and I know he's a huge geek who plays lots of video games when he's not training 😁

How the heck can you guys know about the Banana Splits show? That was back in the late 60s before you were born! I watched it as a kid and loved it. Not as crazy about HR Puff N Stuff, which was similar and out around the same time. My favorite cartoons were Kimba The White Lion, which Disney ripped off when they made The Lion King. Also loved Astro Boy and Gigantor. And even a little of Felix the Cat, catchy theme song. Best animated films were the classic Disney stuff, Little Mermaid, Brave, Up, Ratatouille, Babe, Charlotte's Web, Despicable Me, Shrek, Ice Age, and The Tale of Desperaux. Not that anyone asked. 😁
