One issue I kind of take with this thing aside from the lack of a shield is that the cannons on the wings should have articulation to the point where they can aim forward while the wings are spread out to the side. It's one of the main poses the model is known for and the figure can't even replicate it.
Got this figure last week was really excited as it's probably my favorite model after its predecessor the strike. That being said mine has some serious issues with the backpack in the wings if they're lower than a certain point they tend to want to just flop down and it's not uncommon for them or the backpack to pop off as I'm moving them about. Is this just me or is this a common problem?
I thought that was just me but apparently this universe series has serious problems like that. I bought a exia trams am mode (target exclusive) and he cannot hold his big sword properly what so ever. It falls down and don't even get me started on the limited range of motion these universe series seem to have. I am going to return my freedom gundam and exia Trans am mode asap. I'll probably dust off that high grade unicorn assault mode and exia I've had in my bedroom for over a year now and complete them. Or sell them and save up for a perfect grade unicorn to light up/display in my bedroom. Recently I been clearing up my trading cards and selling bulk, realizing how useless most of the stuff I have is. I barely play with any of these things and it takes up a lot of space. It's best for me to display only one or two units I like a lot instead of gaming tons of tiny toys lying around I don't even look at. It's a borderline hoarding situation on my part
man if freedom is bland, imagine how the he would think of the zakus II's. a little panel lining would make those white pop. i guess there is a limitation with the wing railgun articulations on this figure as in the show they flare out to the sides when firing (the recent model kits could do it too)
Thanks for the review! I am going to buy this for my sister as an entry collection for her SEED series. So she could transition to HGCE, RG, RE and MG.
Aww....they didn't include Freedom's shield even though it's part of the Gundam's aesthetics. And I'm surprised that they skipped some colored parts considering the popularity of Freedom Gundam. The figure looks like unpainted model kit in that regards. But nice review though 👍.
Oh my, I really liked every suit in seed and destiny this one is my favourite suit in the series but man, I really didn't like Kira so it was a strange feeling when I bought it. I can't wait to get Shins Gundam. He was the real hero of the story and the writers did him dirty. This figure is immense in my opinion people slept on this line and its shocking to me as I couldn't really see any gundam fan being disappointed with it. I have one gripe and that's just that I wish he had his shield but with everything else that's included you can't really moan haha.

I know nothing about Gundam, but I saw this guy on a Transformers shop i browse around on regularly, and I gotta say it looks really good!

Not for me, the wings on mine are just fine.
Mines nice and tight to be honest, though I was initially worried about the weight. What's really impressive to me is how well balanced the figure is.

I think the beam saber handles can be joined at the bottom to make a double sided beam saber. Can you please confirm that?
The Freedom gundam Gundam universe toy can make a double sided beam saber.
Yep, it does that. If you look at the product listings on online stores it shows the “beam staff” in one of the product shots.
I've been having trouble with one of the wings where it won't stay in place, anyone else have that problem or a solution

He actually like the look of GU Char's Zaku II. But the articulation sucks.
@@androyus yeah it looks nice for a zaku
It bothers me he doesn't come with the shield....

All weapons set up is the most iconic pose for Freedom, and the wings cannon cannot pivot ?? Just WTF
You can combine the swords Together
Like the figure but the missing shield bugs me way to much. That's my biggest complaint on the line in general. They don't have key accessories.. .
what is the best gundam universe figure in the line?
Sandrock, easily. And not just because it's my favorite Gundam, it's fantastic.

WTF no shield?
Big need
This series seems to have limited range of motion.
No Shield, that is my deal breaker against this figure
