- Hi guys! Time for the final installation of our V8 Showdown series! We took our 1958 Studebaker Champion and our 1951 Ford Victoria out to the "track" and lined 'em up... One-on-one; winner-take-all! It seems there was an unsettled score from the Straight-8-Showdown from years ago, and Agents 303 and 7678 saddled up their old rides one more time... JonathanW joined us too, from North Carolina, and we can check out his 1956 Studebaker Hawk with Packard power!

Kills me how Laura plays it straight, yet is funnier than if she tried to be. She's a bonus to this venture, not to say the rest of the team wasn't great! I doubt anything rehearsed could be funnier or more entertaining than the way this all turned out. Has to be one of the best videos I've seen. Congrat's to all who made this happen!!

Did Laura hear the whispers from long silent flat head engines and dead limited slip differentials, if you build it they will come? To have a drag track in the middle of a post harvest field is just wonderful idea. All the track needs now is lights for night racing. Great job everyone!

I was a "Stude" fan right from the start. As soon as i heard it run I was sure it was gonna be the "Stude"....LOL What a great race day this is . I used to do this with a bunch of guys with C-J 5's, go out in the fields when there were no crops and tear around the farm lanes , great fun.
The best thing you have other than your extreme talent is the friends you have. And Laura. What a cool sister. Frankers, too. Can't forget her. Loved the video. Might watch it again so I get my hour . Congratulations, team Studebaker.

I think that Jonathan "Steam" cleaned his engine, that's why it ran so well. There is no shame Ashley and Justin losing to a "Modified" Studebaker with ported heads, 3-speed manual transmission, and the floor deleted for weight reduction.
Not to mention the "closet" Danica Patrick substitute driver!
No matter, when team Stude starts off getting the ass end sideways, it's only a question of when.

Sketchiest field rally of old canoes but I love it regardless. It was all about fun and accomplishing something. I might say you inspired at least me to tear down a old v8 and make it at least run on it's own power. Very good montage and now you have more cars that run and are not a stagnant garden decoration. JohnathanW has a very good transmission and it would be hard to beat him in the race anyway.

I’ve been Team Vicky from the beginning. Love that car! However, we did not expect a substitute driver of Laura’s caliber to step in and save Team Studebaker at the last moment. Seriously, she is a trooper and always fun to watch. Her Bob Newhart style, dry humor is hilarious. Thank you Scott and everyone else who participated in this epic series. 👍

The race went about the way I thought it would, however, the proxy driver for Team Stuedebaker had me smiling. Laura is always treat to happen upon in your shows, and her wonderful attitude makes her a hoot every time she makes an appearance.
