Great show! I got pretty excited watching the old shoebox race around and when the Stude started up. I guess I'm officially a sad bastard. Cheers from the shed
Pull up a chair Randahl--I'll join you!
Cheers, to we sad bastards!
Studebaker Lives!!! Awesome! And damn if the Vickie didn't crawl outta the grave, she ran! Really damn cool man, cheers!
Antique V-8's roar to life >>> does it get any better than this?
Yes, time will reveal all
The Vicky has come a long way, it really sounded good. I don't want 1 calendar, I want 2.
That line of cars behind the model T in the intro was hilarious!😁
Glad you liked it!
I would love to see Laura's one word description of the '37 Chevy. My word is AWESOME!
Amazing to see these cars go from 'yard art' to running. With the wheels and tyres on it the Victoria is starting to look like it could be put back on the road.
Considering how poopy the engine in that Vicky was, it does nice donuts in the grass.
I spend a set amount on this channel every month, less than most streaming services. The difference between this and everything else? I’m actually excited to see this show. I never miss an episode. The same cannot be said for other things I spend money on. Keep pressing on, CWM team. We’re here for ya.
Hey thanks so much for being one of the kind and generous folks who keep us on the air, Kirt! Cheers from me and the Menace Dog!
Both cars sound great, never really heard a flathead before, it sounds mean. Love to see Laura do the one word assessment. For sure a calander for me.
Great! I hope you like the calendar.... Can't wait to show it to everyone!
Thanks guys. I love this place. I don't understand why the hell this channel doesn't have a half million subs by now. Anyway, ya'll stay safe.
The bloody algorithm, that's why!
Thing I like about old cars, is each time you spend time tinkering on them, when you leave them, they're better than they were... until you spend more time on it and make it even better. Every time!!! Love this show!
Nice to see both old girls come to life... team work in action.
What I love about this is that anyone who has worked on cars with friends recognizes these conversations about how good the engine sounds - how good the oil pressure is etcetra
Ash is like a kid at Christmas driving for the first time. Fantastic
That old flat head is pretty sweet! You guys are having to much fun!
A Laura review of the '37 Chevy would be good. Her reviews are always so funny! Congratulations to the V8 Showdown participants.
Love the old flathead she sounds sweet the best show on RUclips and the best poodle in Canada 😊
That old Ford came back to life and runs great. Wonder why it was parked to begin with?
Watching the Vicki's doughnuts is akin to combining swedish rally racing with the Resurrection.
That Victoria engine runs great! AND the Studebaker engine runs great too!
Absolutely love every minute. I’ll take two calendars when you say go……. Thanx all. I appreciate everything you do to make my Saturday complete. Thursday too.
Thanks Dan! I hope you will enjoy the calendar...Cheers!
It's pretty fun watching you guys have fun... as always. Makes me want to come up there and hang out- but I'm really pretty boring, and like to sit home watching You Tube videos of guys working on old cars.
As usual, I never miss a show. I wish you had a longer show each week... really! Miss the jams, mail opening, and the light buzz, and the hilarious you and drunk Dean panel commentaries.
Man that Vicky is sounding good. And driving good! I would be overjoyed to find that thing in my driveway...few brake upgrades, some makeshift rust repair to keep it from falling apart as it goes down the road, a fuel tank, a set of brand new coker wide-whites on the stock steelies, and I'm driving to work in it.
Great job on that Ford Guys, it sounds nice. Hope the Stude will be as great as it looks. Good Video
Hi, Scott, Congratulations on Team Victoria runs and Team Studbaker getting the motor to start. I'm glad you won your appeal with RUclips. It's a shame that this computer algorithm is creating problems for everyone. You should let Laura drive the '37 Chevy, she can handle it. I hope everybody is doing well and happy. My best wishes! Cheers!
Amazing that the Vicky runs so smoothly, given how much of a mess the engine was. Top notch job getting it running guys!
And I loved the intro...for once it wasn't a VW holding up traffic 😉
Flathead Fords are some of the sweetest running engines ever. They are very quiet engines with great sounding exhaust. Back in the early 60's a buddy bought a 49 that would barely run off an old guy for $15.00. All it really needed was a tune up and a set of plug wires. He knocked out all the glass, cut back the front fenders, put in an old military seat belt and headed out to the local circle track. It didn't have a roll bar, but he did have a guy build a bar to protect the radiator.
Outstanding!!! Back in day a 2dr HT Vicky was no doubt belle of the ball!! My grandmother bought a new '49 2dr sedan, let my future parents use it to take their honeymoon. I remember riding in it a few times at 4 or 5 years old. One of my grandmother's boarders bought a new '54 with glass top, Miss Light(boarder) gave us a ride to next town for some reason. I thought looking out the plastic roof was cool, again approx age of five.. Jumping forward, when I was around 10, pop traded a worn out Jeep for a decent '51 two door. He sold it in '60 just before we moved to Virginia. What was the other car you are working on again??? No doubt a stellar job on both.
The vicky looks really cool with those wheels on it, so much character would be lost with a full restoration that it would ruin the car. A sympathetic bare minimum to get it through inspection would make it a real head turner, especially with number boards on the doors.
There isn't enough pop rivets, license plates and Bondo to get that car through inspection!
Always a treat to see a new episode of CWM,you and the agents are a joy to watch, love to see the Vicky is running under its own power again, reminds me of the field find '54 Chevy BelAir two door hardtop a friend brought home as part of a bunch of scrap cars he bought almost forty years ago,he got it running and we all piled in it and took a short drive in it, I was holding passenger side door closed as it also wouldn't latch, using the handbrake to stop it,bullet holes in the windshield and body, not to mention the dust flying everywhere,ah to be young and foolish again😂
That Stude sounded Really sweet! A great smooth snappy American v8 sound.
Congratulations to team Vicki. That old flathead is running pretty well! Now get the doors to latch shut, and the decklid to lock and put the hood back on it. I may have mentioned that local to me a gentleman owns a fully restored version of the identical car. It is light blue with a white top. I see it at my local cruise in quite often. It looks good next to my '56 Buick which is tri-tone white, red and white. Restored that Victoria is a relatively high dollar car as they are pretty rare.
I coincidentally saw a nice restored version of that same type of Victoria at a cruise night right after Scott bought his. I think the color was even the same, but I’m color blind like Scott. 👓
OK SCOTT, FRANKER'S HAS NOW BECOME MY OFFICIAL WALLPAPER !!!!
THE '51 FORD SOUNDS GREAT!!!! HURRAY FOR TEAM VICKY !!!
HURRAY FOR TEAM STUDEBAKER !!!!!
I’ve been Team Vic since the start but it just blew me away with the instantaneous start up. Wow! Yes, get Laura to test drive the ‘37. That would be quite interesting. I can’t wait to hang that calendar in my office.
I’m glad that RUclips fixed the monetization issue. I was disgusted. No reason for that. Anyone who works as hard as Scott does, doesn’t deserve to be messed with. Oh yeah, fill the trunk of the Studebaker with an engine block or two, along with those heads before the race. 👍
Very awesome to see both of these rides running! Cheers!
Vicky is ready for the car show !! That is simply amazing guys ! It starts and runs so well ! Now Vicky and Stude the dude can both parade down Main street proudly. 🙂🙃😇👌
I am not sure Jonathan has his Studebaker running yet, so Team CWM Studebaker has pulled ahead. Congratulations.
Next vid he puts up will be his Stude ripping a fat burnout just you watch haha
Wow the stude sounded as good as it looked on the first fire up enjoying the both of them come along
My heart jumped the moment the v8 fired up both times! Too bad Myles is not there to enjoy the moment.
Unbelievable that vicky runs that good. you just hit the key and it fires to life like it never missed a beat. That's a good running engine there I bet the compression went up even more since it has got some heat into it. What a beast it is.
That's precisely why I would not hesitate to straight trade my 2014 Challenger for any Ford car with a flathead V8 in it. No hesitation what-so-ever. Those old flatties are basically immortal. And that absolute banger of an exhaust burble....it belongs in the rock hall of fame tbph.
Given that these engines were seized, jammed, immobile just a few months ago, the sight and sound of them actually running again and - more to the point - moving a car around has got to be a satisfying achievement. Such an immense pleasure to see you all get stuck in and somehow pull a rabbit out of the hat.
Maybe one day you might dare to tackle a Wankel rotary engine!
Amazing work done by the teams. It's very, VERY exciting to see the engines up and running.
Great jobs on the Vicky and Studebaker. Really good episode. They all end too soon for me. Looking forward to calendars.
That old flat head is pretty sweet! You guys are having to much fun! Cheers!
Scott-you ALL should be SO PROUD of those engines! Hats off to all, each in their own way a genious!
Thanks for the show and do take care! Cheers, Rich
Another great video!
Both cars sound great, Well done!
It warms the heart to see the Victoria running better than someone of her age group. I remember watching Groucho Marx doing commercials for Studebakers of that era in B&W. And neighbours driving around in them. Classy car in those days. Still are. I'd like to see the '37 Chev on the road before what's left of this summer. Sign me up for a calendar for next year even if it's into the new year. These cars, as much as they are associated with a certain era (aren't we all?) they are somehow timeless. Thanks ever so much for another great show!
Well done guys, seeing the 259 fire was really cool! Good luck to both teams, It's so close now you can smell it.
👍👍👍 Here's also the requested thumbs up for the Studebaker team. Well done, Sirs, the engine runs and sounds really healthy and smooth. Congratulations 🎉 After all the professional body work, 😁 ;-) the car definitely deserves such a good running engine.
Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
Great to see the 1951 Vicky running again ! Love to hear Myles is with his wife on vacation , good husband ! I love how both teams help each other on this builds , I don’t care who wins and that is so wonderful. Looking forward to your calendar. Thanks for another great video ! Cheers From Ontario 🍻
how many cars from today will be running in 70 years .im really liking the CWM- Jonathan W collaboration. As a kid growing up in North Dakota long ago and moved to Tennessee I'm kinda of stuck in the middle of the game. I hope everyone wins😁😁😁
Congratulations to all the guys involved in getting both cars running ,I love the sound of those old flatheads, and can't wait to hear the Studebaker purr.
Stude sounded downright sweet! Not taking anything away from the 239, mind you.
Ash's smile was from ear to ear after he heard that he could drive the ole vic out of its ruts. That was priceless. That vic engine sounds really good. but I knew the Studebaker was gonna be a helluva stronger motor than the Vic. That thing sounded great right away, but gonna have to watch the rest tomorrow. lol
As always a great show. The V8's are coming along nicely. Greetings from the foothills of North Carolina.
Great Video! as always, great production values and you always uphold the local community standards. BRAVO!
Gentlemen! Seriously, some real progress is happening-the race is going to be epic! Jonathan prank-hilarious!❤️🔧
Nothing short of extraordinary progress on the Vicky and the Stude! Both machines had their bags of woe which would eliminate them from any serious consideration for competition but Scott and his capable band of agents saw their way through them and overcame those obstacles. That graphic of “it’s a runner” says it all. Well done, gentlemen !
Great thumbnail!
Congrats to both teams for getting these two boat anchors to fire up. It's an amazing accomplishment. Scott....we need to introduce you to Milwaulkee battery-powered ratchets. They would change your life! 😂
Scott, you've given a home to so many sad old buckets, and the Vickie looks right at home there. Then you realize what a rare bird she is, and someday will be a trailer queen award winner. At least, you hope that happens. Who will step up? It looks like all the agents have pretty full dance cards.
Love what you all do. Saddens me that I don't have a Crew of friends and family around me that helps me get along. I live bi-curiously through you lol. Keep doing what you do sir.
Wow both engines sounded great that must be a big relief, can’t wait to see the stude drive also
God! I love that old flatty grumbling away! Cheers guys. Todd the retired trucker.
The yard of golden hands reviving a Vicky that no wrecker in my nook of the woods would have bothered loading .... and they brought her not only to idling, but also managed to make her spinning her wheels and doing smooth donuts on the wet lawn. Great fun.
Thanks for the show! Laura opining on the Chevv some time: Yes please.
Both cars running! What an achievement and treat. Both of them sound strong. Haha so many cars for the intro lined up, but at those fuel prices no wonder!
Thumbs up guys on getting the Studebaker, and the crown Vic going I like to see the race soon.
It has great oil pressure because all the passages have that thick goo in them after the gauge location.
Given it isnt clattering its a safe bet the galleries are clear enough.
Teams are neck & neck now 👍
Will there be an 1/8th mile race before the snow comes?
I'm definitely up for a calendar Scott. 👍😎👍
Though rich in history,
The Stud's still a mystery.
Old Vicky might lurch,
But you could drive her to church.
The Unknown Poet
Editor's note: Goes good with a decent cigar and a bit of Irish whiskey.
Hi Mark... Cheers to you and the Poet from me and Frankers!
We love the Citroens, can’t wait to see more work on the SM, keep up the good work !
Thanks! Will do!
Scott, YES, I enjoy your channel, content a TON!!! Seeing your current projects and such, Franker's, Tom and his encouraging words of wisdom, all of the agents, the scenery when you're out and about is all appreciated !!!!
Amazing. 2 runners. The Studebaker engine sounds great. That's something that the flathead didn't smoke. They will look good together.
I really like the Victoria and am glad to see her running again. Love the split windshield. Also can't wait to see Laura drive and critique the old Chev. That is always a high point in your videos!
Another fun video, Scott.
Congrats on the monitization issue. What a fiasco.
Love that intro. When you see a VW van waiting in line for a T to get moving... you know the T is not supercharged. ;)
The engines run nice and the flattie starts like one should.
Heck ya! Laura need to give her one word review.
Good luck at the tractor pull.
Have a great week,
Joe from the East Coast
Wow . That Vicky is so impressive. And hasn't run since 1965, more impressive 😮.
The Studebaker sounds strong, hopefully you can get transmission to work
They are swapping to manual so as long as it's not totally shelled, it'll work.
@@hotpuppy1 👍👍👍
Great work across the board, guys! Stude really didn't put up a fight to start, & that's even more awesome!
Both run equally well, I think. Here's hoping the column swap isn't as big a headache as anticipated.
Loved the Frankers intro, YES, Laura needs to do the car review on the 37!
Glad to hear about the YT deal.
Cheers all, GO team Stude!
Sounds like Goody and big Reds Plymouth out of thunderbolt and lightfoot! Love it:) great work lads👍
Awesome to see both flathead and Studebaker OHV fire up!! Very pleasing sounds
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great video from ColdWar Motors. Fabulous work from the entire team. Look forward to seeing the dirt fly from the back wheels of both amazing cars.
The Frankers intro was lovely...Francine living her best life , such a happy puppy ! 🐕
cwm makes Sunday mornings epic 🖖
The boys deserve credit for salvaging that motor from the dead.
2 motors
If I had a nickel for every time, I seen my dad make a gasket out of a cigarette package…Luv you guys 🤘🤘🤘
If you guys have never heard the rhapsody of a flathead idling at 500 rpm, you are in for a treat. Good job Team Vicky & Cheers from Alabama 😊
I would love to see a review of the ‘37 Chevy with Laura! That would be fabulous!
Please, you gotta reissue the Frazer t-shirt. I forgot to order that one. I’ll bet other folks would want one too.
So good to see Jonathan W temporarily emerge from Steam Engine Hyperspace and work on cars again. He is a wizard!
Wow! I can’t remember the last time I saw one of those Studebakers on the road!
I do a lot of 3D printing, and believe it or not, I just printed that very car……1958 Studebaker President Starlight Coupe. It came out very well, and I have a donor Studebaker plastic kit I can use to eventually build it.
Thanks so much for the great video….I’ll definitely keep tuning in! 👍🏾👍🏾
That Vicky test drive was like a scene from The Cars that ate Paris, without the fire. Outstanding!
Scott, OMG! A victorious Victoria!! And then shock and awe the Stude fired and ran strong!! You may not have noticed that the Vicky was cringing a bit at the sound of that roaring lion of a V8! Congrats on the re-monetization! Epic episode as usual! Thanks!
Great to see the Stude make noise and the Vicky make donuts! Thanks for the laughs, I live by the motto of having things that are at least adequate for the purposes of goofing off, or pissfarting around as we say here! I reckon Laura will have some hilarious observations of the ‘37 Chev, looking forward to that episode! Cheers folks
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers Matt...
That Vicky is amazing, way to go team Vicky! I was smiling the whole time it was driving around the yard and yeah, nice lawn job too! Cheers from Lubbock!
I'm not sure which engine I'm more impressed with! Good job everyone. I'm so glad you are monetized again. Thank you so much as always.
Jam packed episode!
Thanks to all who pulled the Vic and DeSoto together.
Yet again, LOVE that opening sequence!!
I was stuck behind Sunday drivers all day--if it was a Model T I wouldn't have complained!😎
Laura's car reviews are always welcome, and awesome.
Glad you like them! I'll pester her this week for a couple hours of her time...Cheers!
@@coldwarmotors They are so "dry". It's hilarious. lol
It's amazing the towing power a model T has, then along came the trusty old VW to lend a push when needed, I learn something every time i watch CWM.
Laura's one word to describe a car is always appreciated.
Impressed with both cars. Yes even the Ford.
I think Miles cleaning the heads on the Studebaker. Might be why it runs so strong.
Another great episode of CWM.
Crew did a nice job getting both cars running.
Looking forward to the calendar.
All the best!
man both those sound way better than they have any right to, I'm still team Stude though. This is probably the most excited I've ever been to see a drag race that I'm not entered in. I also got limited ads on 4 of my videos last week, but the same as you I appealed and they retracted it.
Huge thumbs up for both teams. The work you are doing is entertaining and enlightening all at once. I did flinch a bit when Andy dragged the generator across the fender of the Stude!
Was that the Ardrossan Cruise Night in the opening segment?
Definitely want to see and hear Laura's impression of the "37. I think she'll be impressed.
