Excellent video! Today we've got access to unlimited information at our fingertips, but back then people had to figure things out for themselves. Lots of perseverance and trial and error went into building those early racers. What's even more impressive is just how far Alberta is from the early hotbeds of racing/hot rodding in the USA. They had to rely on their own ingenuity and determination to get things done. Thanks for keeping history alive!
Gotta admire the engineers whose automobiles are alive and strong after 100years
I'd love to see a teardown of Scott Newstead's old T motor to see what ails it.
The look on Jim's face when number 19 nearly rolled off the axle lift !
Dear camneilsen
😱 It was definitely a scary and very dangerous moment!
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
A brown pants moment for sure . They didn't think to chock the front wheels after that though .
Yeah, I might have gone looking for a chock 🧀
Guys that was awesome. It is not every day that we get to see history being re-created as it was back then. Thank you so much for taking us back in time.
The speedsters should all have a Strong's Garage logo on them somewhere!😎
As a guy who races a Model A jalopy, I can attest to the fact that there's nothing like tossing old Henry steel around a dirt track! Love the episode!
How do I get in?
How cool is the famous Canadian sign painter! Fantastic job on that car. ❤😮
A remarkable story from a remarkable time. The war which impacted everyone’s lives was over, there was hope for the future, if not a lot of money to be found. The massive postwar industrial boom was a couple of years away and people were trying to get back into a familiar way of life. Men who’d learned their trades, or honed their trades in the military had knowledge and enthusiasm, and turned tired cars which had only survived due to wartime shortages, into speed machines. The scrapping of war machines provided an unexpected bonus by way of parts and materials, especially lightweight seats as seen here!
Thank you, Matt and Jim, for sharing such wonderful videos. As a proud patron of the channel, I’m glad to be able to offer a wee bit of support. Cheers from Australia!
Alberta home to some of the best dinosaurs in the world and these model T racers fit right in modern auto racing owes a great debt of gratitude to the men who built and raced these awesome cars not only in Canada but worldwide great seeing them.
That was awesome!!! As Matt said, as I was watching it I was thinking 'time tunnel' - - back to when men were men and women made sandwiches for them w/ a thermos of coffee.
Flames coming out of the exhaust is the coolest!
Do Canadians throw anything away????? Unbelievable you can dig up those original cars. What a treat to see them.
* Great Episode Gents. Younger folks aren't big on tradition. Which is a shame. People should respect the history as it's what got us to where we're at. Your channel stands for tradition and that's why I love it. Great cars and great history. You gents are so lucky to be able to work doing the things you love and respect. The watch is so special. What a present ! 👊😎👍
Great trio of old Ford race cars. The fact that they all share local history on the track makes it even more special. Watching the race itself was a hoot. Think it's great that Matt gets into wearing period hat, helmet, coveralls, even the wristwatch! Still hoping to see Jim's Mark II getting some work done in the garage before long.
Like hearing and watching history in action. So glad that somebody had the foresight and cared enough to preserve these amazing time capsules!
Seeing those double maple leaf red&white’s flapping in the wind was pretty kick-a$$ ! Who needs T.R.O.G when we have you guys lol that sprint case is sweet too, cant wait to see what else you have in score. Hey Scott@coldwarmotors, you neeeeeed to get working on the 5 $ roadster buddy.
Those old T's rock & the flames out of the exhaust on startup were just mesmerising, great job getting these old gals back where they belong 🎉 😎
#19's a fire breathing dragon!
That was fantastic, fellas! Thanks so much for taking us to the races. More fun than anyone could imagine. Freedom at its height, before the regulators and outside money killed the fun.
I wish there was a way to give this a triple thumbs up! Great episode!
This is so much more interesting than any Nascar race to Me. Seeing these fine machines get around this track is like watching history in motion. Very good content Guy's. This and CWM's are two of the best content creators on The Lube Tube. 👏👏👏👏👏 Keep up the great work.
Absolutely 💯 loved 💖 this auto racing 🏁 heritage !!!!

I started my career as a Ford mechanic. Fix Or Repair Daily. And no I wasn't working on new model T's
Boy, does this look like fun.
The Model Ts are cool, and so is that old Dodge Crew Cab Truck in the background! :>)
Fire-Breathing-Monster-Machines! That exhaust looks like an old German buzzbomb from the Blitz! 22:00
When I saw it belching fire, I thought "who's got the marshmallows?".
so cool. real cars. real mechanics. real badasses
Dad's right , you need electric stert. at 20:11. Love the old race cars they look awesome.
Watch is a piece of history. Dated. Wow I loved that race. What a blast it would be to drive one of those cars.
Again, thank you both! I've always loved cars but, because of an accident about twenty years ago I don't see well enough to drive. So being able to watch the restorations and the care you give to all of your projects is a real treat. Cheers!
Holy cow what a treat again model T racing epic look through time with authentic cars. Very cool to see 🎉❤😂
I thought 19 was going to head out the door by itself, lol.
Great video, guys.
What a beautiful backdrop at that track... gorgeous !

Enjoyed the video and keep up the great work.
Cheers from Wisconsin
I like the exhaust pipe on the number 19 car, a stove pipe
Great episode!
WOW that #4 is awesome.
Wow! What a cool piece of history! That guy with the T, that had the split exhaust, must have really been 'hopped up'. I'm surprised those old cast crankshafts would even stand up to a few minutes of that! He was lapping just about everyone there. Fun stuff.. thanks guys!😄👍
Awesome video! Man I would have loved to hear all 3 running at the same time sitting in front of the shop. Keep up the good work!
Always glad to hear from y'all! The shop is looking great, too. Thanks for sharing!

Model T racing looks like a lot of fun! It's too bad I don't live on the prairies, I'd come and watch in person.

Wonderful and informative video. You two always come up with some interesting ways to present this information. Loved the race and seeing the cars. Can't wait to see how you present the next era of racing. Love to see that #4 car run.
Well done what a blast to see them on the track again.
Great show guys!
Don't forget, a video on the Rotary Lift guys...I believe more comments increases your algorithm with YT.
Glad you are having me back!😊
I didn't expect those old Ts to get up to such good speed. Congrats!
Awesome racing... looks like it was on top of the hills of Drumheller, I was born there.
I love the header on number 19 that's really high tech for the time
That was pretty cool! Having fun racing T's.
If I get up there, I should bring my uncle's Dyke's Automotive Encyclopedia. It's from 1926 and has a full section on the Model T and on racing Model T's. - It even shows you how to make a wooden torpedo body for a T race car.
Such an informative and action packed video, thank you guys. It gives me continued enthusiasm to develop my T dirt track racer which for all the world looks like that red one you introduced. Great seat of the pants stuff!
Racing one of those cars must be enormous fun. 😊👍
Hey Jim, if you haven`t already, check out the new Chip Foose clip doing a mild restyling on a `56 Continental but don`t tell Scott, he`ll show up with the angle grinder and a stack of cutting wheels, hell in his eye and his hat on backwards.
19 looks like a pulse jet!
Can't wait for model t races in bruderhiem Sept 2 !!
Another fantastic video and a trip back in time to the world of the T. Those racers were simple but looked like a lot of fun. Thanks for posting
