The rev roll ram change is so funny. Someone at the office was just like "hey this is a kids game, we should use small words because kids don't know what aggressive means." And so it went from a description that fit the character/situation to just "they are meanies."

A few things that were forgotten:
    1. You have to "Butt-Bounce" on RGBs twice in a row, in order to kill them.
    2. When the "Save Game" option pops up after the level, there's no sound when scrolling between "Yes" and "No", or when selecting.
    3. It's about the ghosts once again. You forgot to mention that Professor-Pac's dialogue regarding them was changed in subsequent releases as well.
    4. In the opening of Ice River Run, the word "Butt-Bounce" is in quotes, like in my comment.

This is by far the best comparison I've seen of the two versions. I spent 20 years playing this game not knowing that different versions existed, so it's cool that this is finally coming to light. I managed to score a Rev 0 copy from a seller on eBay, who fortunately already knew about the Rev 0 vs Rev 1 debate and was able to prove it was Rev 0. Hopefully more people will be able to play the Rev 0 version and experience the game in its original state!

Some of these differences aren't a thing on the PS2 Greatest Hits version. For example you still see the ball blunder fires at you, and music still plays in the cutscene before Yellow pac marine. Those I believe are differences between console versions. Interesting side note, my black label PS2 copy is actually revision 1 instead of 0, so not all black label copies contain revision 0. Going by Redump, there appear to be at least 10 versions:
    - PS2 US v1.00 (a.k.a. Revision 0)
    - PS2 Japan v1.01
    - GameCube US (supposedly there aren't any differences between the original and Player's Choice)
    - GameCube Europe
    - Xbox
    - PS2 Europe v1.01 (probably not much different compared to the US reprints)
    - PS2 US v2.00 (later black-label prints, Greatest Hits and Power Pak)
    - PC US
    - PC Europe
    - PC France Rerelease
    And, including the prototype builds:
    - The VERY late PS2 US prototype
    - The PAL localization prototype
I wonder what changes each of them entail.

One thing I've never heard anyone talk about... The spooky background sound effects in Haunted Boardwalk and the other Ghost Island levels seem to differ between versions. I was watching a speedrun of one of the GameCube versions of the game, and noticed a distinct lack of the howling wolves that always creeped me out on my Greatest Hits PS2 version as a kid. I've also seen a video of the PC version, I believe, where the bats make noticeable squeaking sounds as they fly around. I looked at a handful of video captures from different consoles, and most seemed to have the howling wolves, which is the thing I'm most curious about. I'd love to know in which versions they're absent, and I'd love even more to know why. There's so many subtle differences with every version of this game, it's astounding.

Revision 0 owner here. It's a shame they didn't move Avalanche Alley's final checkpoint as part of the main revisions. On PS2, the game would remove the last pac-dot from the chain leading to it, but not count it if you die afterwards (a fine example of a race condition, folks!) It seems that change was made at a different time. Clearly the revision process was somewhat complicated. Let's hope if they ever make a Re-Pac of this, they address everything at once (though at least games can be updated nowadays.)
It's interesting how in B-doing Woods, the change to the transition after the highest point in the level is turned into a point of no return (3 evenly-spaced vertical b-doings change to an arrow b-doing leading to 3 vertical b-doings all close to the destination). If that level were actually difficult to 100%, this technically would have made the level harder, in a way.
Also, the song they gave Pac Ranger in later versions is a hybrid of Avalanche Alley and Blade Mountain's themes. I just listened to it for the first time. Very neat!

Just coming from a full 100% playthrough (minus the time trials in the underwater and Ghost Island levels cuz I already got 100%) of Revision 0.
The changes in this video are a bit of a hit and a miss.
The net at the beginning of B-Doing Woods made that section too easy and not risky at all, I'm actually surprised they made this change but didn't chose to:
    - Fix the horrible camera in the first two sections of Magma Opus
    - Remove (or at least rework) the entire slide section at the end of Magma Opus
    - Remove some obstacles/enemies in the underwater levels
    - Make the boardwalks in Haunter Boardwalk fall down slower and not realistically (which gave me serious problems, ESPECIALLY when trying to collect Pac-Dots and fruit on them)
They also made some nice choices though, like making the ice levels easier by making Pac-Man slip on ice ONLY when you butt-bounce on them (making the section after the snow boulder and the pillars in Avalanche Alley (the one where there's the first checkpoint) much more doable).
That said, I actually prefer Revision 0. Yes, it's harder than Player's Choice, but aside from the slipping on the ice, the reasons why Revision 0 is harder than the other ones are not the reasons why I found the game unfairly hard at times (I already explained why in the points before, and will explain more in depth in my comment on the Japanese differences video).
As I usually say: Great game, but also with pretty noticeable flaws, at times.
Just discovered you, I like your content. Your editing is pretty good and you talk in depth about stuff, while making it quick and easy to read at the same time.
    Nice job 👍

I played on the original Xbox, I think has several things from revision 0
    1. The music does start in the cutscenes in Blade Mountain and the water submarine level
    2. The start screen music plays in the file selection.
    3. Not really revision specific but in different ports of the game there’s two distinct rev rolling sounds
I think a lot of revision 0 things make more sense to gameplay and that’s what I grew up with, I think rev 0 and final are a great combination. The Xbox version is well rounded imo

“Revision 0 or Player’s Choice, World 2 is still World 2. Just play the fucking game.”
    Well said, Crazy Otto.
One other thing I feel is worth noting about the PS2 version in general is that there’s a possible misconception about a widescreen setting. As far as I know, the Xbox version is the only one to actually have widescreen. I own a black label and Greatest Hits copy of World 2 and I couldn’t find any evidence of 16:9 support in any capacity (even with the console set to 16:9 mode), nor is there any evidence online.
As far as I know, it was never included on PS2, at least in North America, and is exclusively an Xbox thing.
Not that it’s a huge loss anyway, since the widescreen just crops the top and bottom making it more difficult to see certain fruit or pac dots at certain points (Haunted Boardwalk for example).
