I really like the design of Anubis in the original. The fact that they achieved such a grand model for the boss without any wobling or warping polygons is a major achievement for the PS1.
Another thing I would add here is, I love how the music gets faster, if you hit him. I also love the idea of to man resurrecting anubis and now he's adjusted to still difficult but fair, instead of being impossible from the original game.
Krome Keeper remake is SICK. They took an altogether boring boss, but kept a lot of the fundamentals to put together something much more enjoyable. Love it!
yeah Krome Keeper's fight in the remake is a lot better since it includes a bunch of content that was scrapped from his original fight, but here they where able to include it with the extendable arms, rocket launchers, falling gears and the laser cannons
All of them stand out from the original. Especially the Krome Keeper boss fight. Interestingly, this new version of the fight is directly based on concept art of it from the original, and the only fight that is based on unused concepts from the original game, since the rest of the boss fights has been completely remade from the ground up, and so does the entire game itself.

Kind of hoping that if Namco remakes the other two World games, that the changes to Toc Man's appearance/abilities transfers into a cooler Toc Man segment in World 3. Granted, playing as Toc Man in World 3 didn't really look or play anything like he did in World 1 in the first place, but maybe design changes here will get to transfer over into a better, cooler mech segment. There are some hit and miss but personally, I think this is a decent remake It's like playing a new game but also not entirely losing the feeling of the original so that's already good enough
one thing i really remember about the original clown prix was it was the easiest boss level by a longshot being that you could win simply by not falling off since the clowns race slow enough to be easily passed and getting knocked off was just straight up death. i really appreciate how the remake made it actually challenging, possible to lose in, and falling off only docks a chunk of health instead of a full life, its rly good balancing
To make all those recurring appearances before you fight him, he _has_ to be. The original version… sturdy as it was, seems thrown-together by comparison. Only able to handle PAC-Man when they first meet at the end.
*In the Thumbnail* Left - Looks like a character from Banjo-Kazooie or Conker's Bad Fur Day. Right - Looks like a Robot Master from the latest Megaman game.
Yeah, but some of the original designs would have looked great smoothed out, refurbished and made to look more visually and graphically contemporary. Those Re Pac Neander Packs are straight up horrendous.
The game’s conclusion in a nutshell: “It’s unfair! Ghosts are always society’s fall guys! We do so much work and get no credit! I may have been a villain, but it was for my fellow ghosts who are too afraid to stand up to themsel-“ Pac-Man: *kills his in front of a crowd with a smile on his face*
Honestly prefer the new clown race the track is more structurally coherente and the clown don't end up killing themselves Making the race a joke to beat if you memorized the insane track. King galaxian feels far more reasonable now and actually fun . Anubis rex is very much an improvement, it actually feels like a second boss and not a massive difficulty spike. Windbag ain't much different if being slightly shorter battle which i ain't complaining. The robot is pretty neat with its new design and boss arena , feels far more engaging and intense. The Toc man battle is slightly less tedious and im glad for that change, the battle is still fun overall
King Galaxian is easier in the remake. I got too many Game Overs just trying to get past the shooting stages before I could even reach the boss. Due to certain limitations of the original PlayStation, the firing rate was very slow and there were no power ups in that stage

yeah the original was hellish. personally camera angles have been the most glaring issues in the original apart from those. I never passed the original Anubis Rex due to how hard to see those traps on actual PS1 and any wrong move slowed you down and closed the distance faster
You can shoot fast with button mashing and there's an auto-fire powerup, what ruins King Galaxian in the original is the camera and size and inertia of your ship giving you zero space to move around and making it hard to weave through bullets
I like that some of the bosses just got relatively minor touch-ups, and then others were like "we must completely rebuild this fight from the ground up."

The voice of Orson in the 1999 PS1 game sounds a lot like Larry the Cucumber of the Veggie Tales. The way the bosses were redesigned was amazing, especially Toc-Man and Krome Keeper. Krome Keeper looks bad @$$ and Toc-Man is more menacing with his rev roll, Krome suit fire ring butt bounce, and machine gun Pac dot attack. Re-pac version is good as it seems to be... but as a personal thought the original version had that touch of difficulty to be trying and trying again...😅
Yeah, I know what you mean. I like a lot of the Re-Pac changes, but some stuff, like getting rid of the shielded enemies for King Galaxian's last wave of offense before his fourth eye is taken out, feels like it makes the difficulty feel kinda casual, lol
@@thejedisonic67 I decided to look at that phase of the fight again. Honestly, it doesn't look like the have any shields at all (whereas in the original game the bubble effect they put up was pretty noticeable after they were shot once). Either those enemies still aren't in the fight or the new rapid-fire function is so continuous that it just rips right through them as though they were the normal enemies.
They should've made Toc-Man say something before bringing the bosses to life. Aside from that i really enjoyed this remake. I've already beaten it 100% like 3 times now. Definitely one of those games i'll always look back at.
watching this made me realize how weird the pac man world plot is. for instance: why do the gosts like pac man if he's the one eating them all the time?
My main gripe is exactly that. Really sad they rid of those amazing voices and instead put in Animal Crossing esque sounds. Poor Toc sounds like Jabba the Hutt sometimes and it's sad.
"Alright, I just got the background for the Windbag boss just perfect." "That's great! And how about the level just before the boss? Nah, I'm sure you did that already. I mean, the game ships in 10 minutes" "...Background for the level before the... boss?"
I don't understand what the point of adding fruit before the boss fights was in the remake, it literally adds nothing but frustration when the timing is so strict to collect them during those chase sequences. Also crazy how much they changed the Anubis boss fight, it's almost like a whole different thing now, but just with the same general concept
I feel like the backgrounds feel emptier in the remake. I mean, in the fight with Windbag, there was a volcano, a castle, and mountains with various shapes... But in the remake, it's just plain rocky mountains.
The new designs in Re-Pac are cool (and I like that they made the Anubis boss more of an actual boss rather than rely on what feels like RNG most of the time), but I can't help but feel like there's too much dead air in the noise or soundtrack department in the boss cutscenes compared to the original. Also dang, the music on the Re-Pac King Galaxian fight is super quiet/drowned out by the sound effects. Also wish it still felt like it was on the move like the original, even if it was just going in a circle around the planet, would make it feel more active like the og. Also is it just me, or does Pac not feel as expressive in the cutscenes as I feel like he should? Granted most of his other expressions were in his idle's but I feel like it was a missed opportunity to give him more faces that just the surprised pikachu face, granted I haven't seen all of the remake so I don't know. I also find it weird that they reuse the same camera angle & sound bites each time Toc-Man shows up before the boss. Plus him not having a nose and also having a jet-pack for some reason is really odd. (Granted I'm also one that doesn't exactly like that they had to replace Ms. Pac-Man and Baby Pac due to dumb licensing stuff, I don't even know if that's the case but I can't help but feel it is.) (I also sort of get the joke, a "Jet-Pac" because wordplay) Oh god, the 1st person angle for the racing is WEIRD. XD And I'm curious why they changed it from a bumper car to a regular go-kart, I'm assuming it's making a reference to the Pac-Man kart racing game but I'm not 100% sure. Why do the missles for Re-Pac Krome Keeper sound like airplanes flying overhead? Also why are they so loud when close? I can't help but get the feeling this was a slightly rushed product. Not to mention the fact that the announcement for this game was little to non-existent and it's release time was just so abrupt. Oh god, the gibberish talk at the Re-Pac Toc-Man's Lair portion was a whiplash and a half. XD Also, I never really understood the logic when I realized it in recent years, Pac fights Ghosts the whole time in the game because they kidnapped his family, yet even to them he's regarded as a hero? XD Well, at least the Pellet Machine Gun & Jet-Pac give him a slightly more unique moveset rather than just being a bigger robotic version of Pac. Also him also using the power-ups is cool. Oh so he CAN do the Rev, ok. Wait...is that really how it ends? It just cuts to the title screen? No credits? Or is that just the video edit? Although one thing I WILL say, if World 2 & 3 get Re-Pac editions, they have a chance of better tying them together, like maybe Orson makes the mechs for Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Cylde in 2 while they work under Spooky. (Not familiar with 3 so I'm not sure how it can work, best I heard is that it was a bit of a departure of the previous games.)
Oh, I admit, I really wish they added music to the boss cutscenes (aside from Toc since his was already a full on show with "talking"). Like, I really imagine some wicked tune when the clowns are racing down the track, and maybe some sound effects when they show the front of the car, and then for some reason, I just hear the boss announcer from Skylanders saying the name. The latter for every boss, tbh. xD I defintely say it in my head: "CLOWN RACERS", deep voice and everything. I missed the expressiveness on Pac's face as well. Like I almost want to see him (or even Toc!) making one of those "OH LORD YOU AGAIN???" kinda faces, maybe a groan, lol, the further on Pac goes. Like, even Toc is just there like "TIME TO DIE!" even though he and Pac keep encountering after all these other attempts to kill him. His laugh is definitely haunting, though. I liked it better when he talked though, and love his design equally otherwise. Also funny how I used to imagine different types of Toc designs, and some even had spiked wrists (those were my artistic jam when I was a kid; Spikes on everything! If not those, they had long claws), and lo and behold, spiked wrist (and boots) Toc! Don't like the deal with the replacements either. Pac Mom, Pac Boy, Pac Buddy (the dog even had a name change, I think! OMG WHY??), and Pac Sis sound super odd, especially since I see all of those but Professor Pac as a family, so now it's like...Pac-Man and Pac Mom have some random kids, a dog, Pooka, and Professor. Like...Not really sounding like a family anymore. Sure it can be seen as such, but it's not the same as Ms. Pac Man, Pac Man, Baby Pac, Pac Junior, Chomp Chomp... Might as well had changed Professor to Pac Grandpa...He's the only one along with Pac Man and Pooka to not have their names changed. The fact they even changed the DOG'S name...Oh help me... The clown racers one was probably rougher on me because of that view. I play games like Crash Nitro Kart and while you CAN have a view like that, it's a toggle thing and I personally don't use it. I like seeing the road ahead of me, but not from the racer's view. Pretty sure this view alone was what really made me struggle against the clowns, since CNK has wall-less tracks as well and I can do them just fine. I hated the gibberish speak. Case closed. I really question the deal with the ghosts in Toc's scene! It was odd how they acted scared around him, but then Pac enters and they're like "OMG LET'S GO SEE HIM" despite the fact Pac eats ghosts. And of course, Toc would be angry about that. :P YET, after Toc's defeat, and he's revealed to be a ghost as well, THEN the ghosts look upset with Pac when "Toc-Man (Ghost)" (aka Orson) says that no one roots for ghosts. Like, all of the sudden the ghosts realized "oh yeah, he's right; What about us??". In PMW, they definitely made it more clear that they're afraid of Pac and run from Toc, but when Pac comes in, the only one who aknowledges him is Toc, and of course, he's angry. Otherwise, the only ghost reaction you get would be them being shocked about Toc's defeat - maybe even him being a ghost, but I feel like it's more along the lines of "what did you do??" than "he was one of us??". Really enjoyed seeing Toc being the case of "everything you can do, I can do better" in his fights. Really became a surprise when he used the metal pellet and then grew bigger after that frame. I missed his voice here though. His laugh is one thing, but there's something that I liked about his "HA" and "YAH". xD And no, it doesn't just cut to the title screen, it's just how the video maker decided to do it. Like there's actually another scene now, should you rescue everyone. They only showed the scene when you do not. But also credits with a fun minigame attached while they play.
You can cheese the krome keeper battle in the remake. If you get the metal pellet close to him you have enough time to hit him twice. Just watch out for the magnet
37:21 I can't believe it, they didn't mix up the ghosts, after years, in a PAC-Man World game, they finally gave Clyde and Blinky their correct names Also, why did they say "Toc-Man (Ghost)"? His name is Orson
You got the wrong game of the series it's the sequel "Pacman World 2". Pacman World mentions the ghosts in the manual only but never mix them up. However I will agree about why they didn't mention the name Orson. Guess that's a huge mistake with Namco killing and making cringe so their games lose nostalgia. I am gonna say Pacman World 3 Re-Pac is going to be sooo bad I might laugh since the original one wasn't great either. However gonna stick with the original ones because they have challenge and poor Sour Puss(Ms. Pacman's cat) they killed that character so much it's not funny.
@@dragtogo2735 I know their names were correct in PAC-Man World 1, I made the comment because I am now concerned that we won't get a World 3 remaster due to the amount of dialogue where Clyde is called Blinky and Blinky is called Clyde, since they're aware of the error they'd have to rerecord EVERYTHING, including Orson's lines, and they didn't even call him by the proper name
@@_antisocialmedia6377 The Re-Pac doesn't have English Dubbed it's like what Nintendo did making the language for Rayman 2 on N64. However both have English Subtitles if you're referring to that. Krome Keeper had the most insane glow-up in the entire remake, even the new introduction with Toc-Man throwing the energy orb which then assembles metal scraps to form Krome Keeper
I am so glad King Toc returns! I like both designs of his as well; The OG looks intimidating and powerful, and the remake looks energetic and yet still able to kick your butt should you anger him! Krome Keeper though, man...I totally forgot about him. But his remade design is to DIE for! I'd love to see a show or movie with these guys! The added cutscenes were also pretty neat. Still sad they didn't use VA's though, especially for Toc, but his laugh is definitely very haunting and the way he seems to command them (or summon/resurrect/create them) with ease is super cool. And the fact there's a good and bad ending depending on if you rescued everyone or not is neat.
Lol I like that when I watched this video, the remade bosses keeps tricking me into thinking that something from the original was changed "Aww, Windbag doesn't have eyes on it's sail-- Oh wait, there it is" "There's only three buttons on Windbag instead of five like the origin-- Oh wait, there it is" "Oh wow, they connect all the pads in Anubis now so you don't have to jump-- Never mind" "Wait, since the boost has a meter in Clown Prix, there's no more power pellets on the track-- Oh, they're still there" "With that size, I don't think Toc Man can do his rev up-- Oh crap _there it is_ "
nerfing the ball breaking bosses (Anubis, Klown Kart, Galaxian) While making the rest of the bosses put a fight (Except Windbag, sorry mate, but your secon phase is still easy-ish) was a great move, actually losing to Toc man reminded me that guy was meant to be the bad guy
I remember as a kid I could never beat King Galaxian. So happy to finally beat him, and be able to play the circus levels that I always saw on the other side of the wall in the space area!
My trick to doing it was to sort of spin my thumb through the X, O and Square buttons to shoot several shots at a time. It burnt the thumb a little at times, but it fired 5-7 shots at once if your finger slid the right way.

Anubis and King Galaxian in particular were hell to get through in the original. I'm glad the remake made them much more reasonable.
I felt like galaxian was similar difficulty but dude Anubis was wayyyyyyy easier, no doubt
Personally, I'd argue. I beat King Galaxian first try in Re Pac and he was hell in the original. But I'm struggling with Anubis Rex in the remake, everyone says he's easier but I'm finding him harder than the original and I beat him on the PS1 version. Already I've died like 6-7 times over 2 days. I never finished the original PS1 version of the game.
I mean hey the king’s got a sick battle theme.
Anubis gave me hell in the OG. I died so many times.
When ever I play the Anubis Boss I just pause it and go to easy mode, sure it won't have any charm to the OG but playing the boss remastered on easy mode atleast gives you a strategy
The pac dot gatling gun and jet pack in particular are just really neat additions.

personally i think thats EXACTLY how remasters should be, repac is awesome 🥰
one thing i really remember about the original clown prix was it was the easiest boss level by a longshot being that you could win simply by not falling off since the clowns race slow enough to be easily passed and getting knocked off was just straight up death. i really appreciate how the remake made it actually challenging, possible to lose in, and falling off only docks a chunk of health instead of a full life, its rly good balancing
I wish they looked as creepy as they did in the original
Personally I felt like they should have made the lead clown racer look a bit more distinct, perhaps just larger?
At least the original clowns weren't so stiff and plasticine. The race track colors were a little bit more eye catching too.
bro Toc-Man's redesign is terrifying
To make all those recurring appearances before you fight him, he _has_ to be. The original version… sturdy as it was, seems thrown-together by comparison. Only able to handle PAC-Man when they first meet at the end.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I like a lot of the Re-Pac changes, but some stuff, like getting rid of the shielded enemies for King Galaxian's last wave of offense before his fourth eye is taken out, feels like it makes the difficulty feel kinda casual, lol
The shielded enemies still exist, they only block like 1-2 shots now though

Re-Pac should’ve let you select between ghost language for each region
Or even let you switch between cutscene style, either using pre-rendered cutscenes like in the original PCW or default cutscenes in the remake

"That's great! And how about the level just before the boss? Nah, I'm sure you did that already. I mean, the game ships in 10 minutes"
"...Background for the level before the... boss?"
Krome Keeper definitely got an upgrade!
I don't understand what the point of adding fruit before the boss fights was in the remake, it literally adds nothing but frustration when the timing is so strict to collect them during those chase sequences. Also crazy how much they changed the Anubis boss fight, it's almost like a whole different thing now, but just with the same general concept
One word: score.
And in terms of completion, that's important. Especially if you want the magic key.
Pac-Man and Baby Pac due to dumb licensing stuff, I don't even know if that's the case but I can't help but feel it is.) (I also sort of get the joke, a "Jet-Pac" because wordplay)
Oh god, the 1st person angle for the racing is WEIRD.
XD
Also, I never really understood the logic when I realized it in recent years, Pac fights Ghosts the whole time in the game because they kidnapped his family, yet even to them he's regarded as a hero? XD
Well, at least the Pellet Machine Gun & Jet-Pac give him a slightly more unique moveset rather than just being a bigger robotic version of Pac.
You talk too much
Oh, I admit, I really wish they added music to the boss cutscenes (aside from Toc since his was already a full on show with "talking").
Like, I really imagine some wicked tune when the clowns are racing down the track, and maybe some sound effects when they show the front of the car, and then for some reason, I just hear the boss announcer from Skylanders saying the name. The latter for every boss, tbh. xD
I defintely say it in my head: "CLOWN RACERS", deep voice and everything.
His laugh is one thing, but there's something that I liked about his "HA" and "YAH". xD
And no, it doesn't just cut to the title screen, it's just how the video maker decided to do it. Like there's actually another scene now, should you rescue everyone. They only showed the scene when you do not. But also credits with a fun minigame attached while they play.
@@OverlordZeroULTIMA Yeah it does kind of make it feel like just an animation tech demo rather than a boss fight intro, doesn't it?

You got the wrong game of the series it's the sequel "Pacman World 2". Pacman World mentions the ghosts in the manual only but never mix them up.

Did they get the Smash ultimate devs to help out with the artwork? Pacman straight up looks like how he does in Smash.
Is no one gonna talk about that one nightmare-inducing expression windbag makes at 1:07-1:08..?? It's so unreasonably detailed for its time..
That looks like something SpongeBob would do
Personally, I feel the krome keeper’s original version physically funnier and goofier than the remastered version.
His remake design is more intimidating & he does more then just kick boxes like the original.
Appearance aside, I feel the remake’s fight was a big improvement. (That’s my opinion)
Don't have the game yet but him and anubis are already huge improvements
Honestly, props to them for keeping his goofy walking on the spot despite being menacing, lol
Hang on hang on guys! I too feel the remake estetically better and the bosses more intimidating. I just said the original was more comical. That’s all.

That King Galaxian boss reminds me of Star Fox 64.
Krome Keeper had the most insane glow-up in the entire remake, even the new introduction with Toc-Man throwing the energy orb which then assembles metal scraps to form Krome Keeper
Toc-man in re-pac:hocus pocus I learn magic to make a robot
Pac-man:WHAT THE FUCK
Lol I like that when I watched this video, the remade bosses keeps tricking me into thinking that something from the original was changed
"Aww, Windbag doesn't have eyes on it's sail-- Oh wait, there it is"
"There's only three buttons on Windbag instead of five like the origin-- Oh wait, there it is"
"Oh wow, they connect all the pads in Anubis now so you don't have to jump-- Never mind"
"Wait, since the boost has a meter in Clown Prix, there's no more power pellets on the track-- Oh, they're still there"
"With that size, I don't think Toc Man can do his rev up-- Oh crap _there it is_ "
nerfing the ball breaking bosses (Anubis, Klown Kart, Galaxian) While making the rest of the bosses put a fight (Except Windbag, sorry mate, but your secon phase is still easy-ish) was a great move, actually losing to Toc man reminded me that guy was meant to be the bad guy
Windbag is purposely easy, just warm up.
Honestly Krome Keeper is definitely the biggest improvement here
Windbag: Even
Anubis Rex: Even
Galaxian: MUCH WORSE
Clowns: Worse
Krome Keeper: MUCH BETTER
Toc-Man: Better
I am so excited to see that Pac-Man's characterization was kept consistent by making him brutally murder the ghost Toc-Man after the final fight
I hope this means they'll eventually take another crack at making the cancelled Pac-Man World 4 which was converted into Pac-Man Party.
32:39 Old Toc Man Without Eyelids And serious eyebrows and good robot voice 37:30 New Toc-Man Looks Better When have eyelids and furious eyebrows and wings and evil robot voice

Thank god they fixed that one boss.
Which one?
@@kylestubbs8867 Anubis
@@cutiewintersnowtorres2561 anubis? more like amogus corny joke ik I'll see myself out
@@niteriemcfarlane5285 lol 😂
@@cutiewintersnowtorres2561 how was he the second boss?
Is it bad that I really want a Pac-Man World 2 game made for PS5? Pac-Man World is alright, but I really need World 2. It's my childhood PS2 game
This is just an amazing game tbh, the Re-Pac have better designs; especially with Toc-Man now being able to maneuver in the air with a Buzz Lightyear-like jetpack
The King Galaxian Boss Battle theme gives me Galaga Vibes
Dang, they really put a lot of detail into recreating these boss fights.
Crome Keeper & Toc Man are almost completely different fights.
Krome keeper is my favorite!!
This game was way harder than it should have been. I don't even remember making it to the first boss in the original as a kid
I feel like this is such a weird game to remaster and make look so good 💀 like this was clearly a passion project and I love that
Quizá ya estoy viejo pero el de mi infancia me sigue pareciendo mejor que el Remake.
