- With the upcoming release of Pac-Man World Re-Pac, and Pac-Man Museum + releasing so recently, It’s a great time to take a look at the Pac-Man World Franchise. I'm not afraid to say that the Butt Bounce is one of the most satisfying moves I've ever seen in a video game. Part of that satisfaction no doubt comes from how Pac-Man is basically a big yellow ball, so seeing him bounce seems to natural and intuitive.

The best thing about pac-man world 3 is the orson and pac-man friendship that they have around the game, I really love when they just have conversational talks between the levels, like two friends talking on a meeting about life and stuff
I love the continuity between 1 and 3 and how he went from the final boss to his friend and guy in the chair. Would love to see 3 get remade so they can iron out any issues the game had from its rushed development.

I love their dynamic so much, and in my eyes it makes the whole game worth the trouble.
My one fear for the repac games is that the trill we hear from pac mom in the little cutscene footage we have is evidence that the repac game(s?) will go all in with making the Pac-Man characters mute/speak only with vocal effects. Namco going forward with that would get rid of so many good moments from 1 and 3 :(
@@fullriver1234 Yeah, if they're gonna remake Pac-man World 3, they gotta iron out the kinks. Please, lower the health of those darn scorpion things! And this might be asking too much, but may redesign the world and enemies to be more Pac-Man like? Keep the layout and powers the same, just make them look more in line with the monsters in the first 2 Pacman games. Make them cuter instead of apocalyptic monsters.

I am so glad that many people aren't just dismissing Pac-Man as nothing but some one hit wonder from the 80s.
I'd love to see the other games get the Re-Pac treatment, even World 3.
Pac Man World 2 could easily be remastered including brand new levels in between of the existing ones, but for Pac-Man World 3 in order to be a good game they would needs to change a lot of the games mechanic including a new Hub World or Worldmap, replace most of the combact section with puzzles and platforming challenges, replace some of the repetitive enemies with classic enemies from the previous two games, add brand new levels, overhaul "Spectral Ghost" fights, and makes Pac-Village playable again.

There’s something about the butt bounce and rev roll that feel so iconic to Pac-Man. When I think of non-maze Pac-Man, those are the moves I associate with Pac the most, even though those moves are literally only present in these games
For me the kick flip is pretty iconic to him as well. Probably because world 2 was my first ever game.
The Plot does explain why Ghosts are on your side. They were kidnapped and were to be used as power source for building the Syphon Machine for the Spectral Real.
I am so glad that more people are beginning to recognize this amazing sub-series of Pac-Man, because by god does it deserve more love for what it's worth. Seeing Pac-Man World Re-Pac in that direct was the most hyped I've been during a direct in a long ass time, and I hope Namco will revisit World 2 and 3 if that game does well.

Hopefully at some point, Namco changes Pac-Mom back into Ms. Pac-Man like in Pac-Man World trilogy (in 2, she was a cameo. And in Maze Madness, as the first half of the title suggests, she is the hero saving a damsel in distress, and one that isn’t even annoying for what trope she is, probably because of her voice acting and soft personality and inspiration for me to make Ms. Pac-Man & Maze Madness Princess yuri) by making her a main playable character in Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac!

Pacman World 2 was my very first game. It was a gift I received as a Christmas Gift on the original Xbox.
So Nostalgic and not in a bad way at all. It still remains one of the best game's I've played personally. Pacman World 3 as well and I'm quite excited to play World 1 for the first time as I never played that one.
Pac-man World 2 and 3 on the Xbox was a source of bonding for my mom and I back when I was young. Love this series so much. I hope it gets the same treatment as Sponge Bob BFBB and the Destroy All Humans games. I'd buy them instantly.
Also I had never known Maze Madness was a sequel. I had it on N64, my mom ran my N64 to overheating playing this game. So much nostalgia being played on. I just hope they don't try to ultra monetize them.

The best announcement in the nintendo direct. I hope we get a pac-man world 2 remake, a pac-man world rally remake and a pac-man party 2. I haven't played pac-man world 1 or 3, so I can't wait to play the first one. A pac-man world rally remake or sequel with more characters and maps would be perfect. I want patra in it since she's my favorite character from this franchise.

Apparently Pac-Man world Rally for Home consoles had development issues and time constraints and all of the PSP content and an XBOX and even DS release where meant to happen but didn’t. The PSP version was developed by a different studio which is why it has all the intended content.
Oh man, the first time I played Pac-Man World 2 was at a friends house during a sleepover on his Xbox, the box art looked so damn cool and drew me in to want to explore in the same way Spyro did at the time. Surprisingly tight platformer.
I am glad we're finally getting the remake. The only problem is the...Pac-Mom issue. Yeah.
Sadly, as you may be aware, Bandai Namco likely can't freely use Ms. Pac-Man anymore due to legal issues. So... we're just gonna have to bear with it.
I don’t understand why they would replace Ms. Pac-Man with Pac-Mom instead of just making a new Pac-Man love interest… it’s not like it hasn’t been potentially done before since Ghostly Adventures did it… especially if legal reasons are at the center of Ms. Pac-Man’s removal, but oh well I suppose.!

Long time Pac-Man world fan. Discovered this gem of a series in middle school, a relative who was older then me had a PS2. I would often visit them after school and played World for the first time

Pac-Man World 2 will always be one of my favorite PS2 games. So many good memories playing that disc to death.
Pacman really was busy outside the classic arcade format. Not sure how i missed out on all of these while growing up in this era myself lol. Meanwhile the og arcade game and/or Ms.Pacman were pretty involved in my gaming past. But at least the opportunity to experience World is here again
19:22 I've heard an explanation for this before in that at the time Sony apparently wanted PSP games to be more than just straight PS2 ports, mandating that cross platform games between the systems have some sort of bonus content. Dunno how true that is but that would explain the large amount of PSP games with exclusive content like this.
The same thing happened with Mortal Kombat Deception; it’s PSP port had more characters and content

yea but the reason why the ghosts were teaming up with pacman in world 3 was because erwin was also destroying there homeworld, the spectral realm, not just pac village. they said it in the game
Pacman world 2 is by far one of my favorite GameCube games.
There are surprisingly not a lot of documentation recently about Ghostly Adventure period of Pac-Man, in terms of reviews or retrospectives. Cartoon gotten some traction, mainly because of the memes, but I seen hardly anyone talking about the games. Especially compared to World series, that at least still remembered fondly.

A thing you neglected to mention is that Pac Man World 3 was originally an unrelated Pac-Man game before it was reworked into the third World game; and that’s where a lot of the weird elements come from. It’s the remnants of one game shoved into the rough standard of being another entry in an existing series.
as a kid i used to interpret the name “pac man world 2” as meaning the second iteration of the pac-man universe, like the arcade games were the first world of pac-man, i had no idea it was a sequel to a game called pac-man world until, like, the 2020s
I had no idea there were other mario games on the gba beside super mario advanced 4 super mario bros 3 as a kid.
I never realized there was other Sonic stuff besides Underground until Sonic Adventure came out. I always thought Underground was a completely original cartoon.

I gotta admit, Pac-World & Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection got me excited because I love Pac-Man and Mega Man!
Pac Man World 2 was the first thing I ever bought with my own money! I saved up for weeks and weeks doing chores and my mom took me to the mall to buy it. I spent hours upon hours playing world 2 and world 3 on the ps2, completing each one multiple times. Battle mode in World Rally was also fantastic, many matches were had. But all of this could just be through the lenses of my nostalgia goggles. Either way this video brought me way back to some of my earliest gaming memories, and you have gained a new subscriber!

The pac man adventure games where surprisingly decent platforms. And there is fun to be had by playing them.
Pac-Man World 3 is a childhood classic for me
i love this series so much and have been begging for a port or remake of world 2. it’s so cool we’re actually getting a remake of the 1st one i hope that means the 2nd will get one also these games are so underrated i always tell my friends about them but great video man i hope this video introduces more people to these games

To briefly summarize the Ghostly Adventures games for you. The console version of GA 1 is, while nothing mind blowing, is an honestly good 3D platformer to play, with Power Berries, colorful locations, and good enemy varieties. Think of it as the Super Mario 3D World of the Pac-Man Franchise. The 3DS version of GA 1 is a side scroller that’s short, but sweet. It may have only 8 levels total, but there is a decent amount of replayability when you unlock Power Berries. The boss fights are not too shabby either and the music is great, especially the final boss. And then there’s Ghostly Adventures 2, which, dare I say, is on par or even better than World 2. Great levels, great mechanics, great boss fights, great music, great graphics, great designs, great…everything. GA2 is what I call the hidden gem of Pac-Man’s entire franchise. It’s a game completely worth getting.

"Pac-Man: Adventures in Time" is PC game made in 2000 that's similar to Maze Madness, game was INCREDIBLE, highly recommend looking into it if you haven't

Back around 2010 or 2011, I came across a box set at Walmart that repackaged Pac-Man World 2 and 3 and the kart racer on PS2. It was only $15, so I picked it up

If they do make a pac man world 4 i want it to feel more like a pac man game than whatever the ghostly adventures games feel like. Ghostly adventures is really good if you can get past that fact.

i had the gamecube version of pacman world 2 and poured a lot of hours in my childhood into it. it was my cousins and i's favorite game, every time they came over and we weren't doing other activities, we'd sit around the tv playing. anytime someone died, they had to pass the controller to the next person. we got pretty close to beating it but i think it remains unfinished... i guess i otter get the gamecube set back up again and see. our favorites were b-doing woods and the ice skating level- anytime we got angry at a difficult level we'd return to those two to relax.
I miss my Og ps1 pac man world for the ps1 will forever hold a place in my heart ❤️

Excellent job with the video! The first two world games were staples of my childhood, and still games I enjoy today very much. I'm glad others share that sentiment and let's hope the forthcoming remake of the first game is a worthy one.

I played Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 1 & 2. Both games (console version) are very mediocre. A lot of people are not missing out playing them.
Also, I find it funny that I made a joke about Pac-Man in my Just Dance video and now we have a remake of the first game.
Imagine if Bandai-Namco reskins and rereleases The Ghostly Adventures series of games as new installments of the Pac-Man World series.

The Pac-Man World remaster was a big surprise during the Nintendo Mini Direct. I went in with low expectations as usual and came out intrigued on the new titles and ports and whatnot. Strange, since I recently played Pac-Man World on PS1 a couple years ago and liked it. Despite the numerous difficulty curves, rough controls, and the overly large hit box, I’m hoping for it to be great and fix anything the original had that made it not the complete best it could be. World 2 is still a childhood favorite though, despite its own personal flaws. You could say, each Pac-Man World Trilogy game has its good and rough parts.
We need to push for a Remake. Let's make it happen!
Pacman World 2's OST was amazing. I was always upset that I couldn't play Pacman Vs. since I didn't have a Gameboy Advance link cable.
