I am very familiar with cyber-Zilla since I grew up watching the animated series of the 1998 Godzilla movie. Being reanimated after what happened in Godzilla 1998, only to be an alien weapon for world domination is heartbreaking enough. Cyber-Zilla had to fight his only surviving offspring, and Zilla Jr was forced to put his biological father down for good for the sake of his adopted father. It really is heartbreaking. 💔

I re-watch the trilogy so many times, I lost count. They need to release the show on Blu-ray with special features.

Cyber-Zilla is almost similar MetalGreymon (Virus). Both are cybernetically enhanced reptiles, controlled by malevolent forces: Cyber-Zilla was controlled by the Leviathan Aliens, Virus MetalGreymon was controlled by Ken (who was himself being controlled by the Dark Spores).

I saw that episode and believe that while studying the corpse can be a good thing zilla should've been allowed to rest in peace. What the aliens did to zilla making him cyber-zilla was a most dishonorable thing to do, but to also all but forcing father (birth and adopted) and son to fight is enough to get their name and crimes sent to gen pop before shoving them in. One can look at the final bout as junior giving his birth father some dignity from the afront that was the current existence of.

I like to think that Zilla Jr (it still feels odd calling it that) was more highly evolved than its father. Hence its ability to survive missiles and atomic breath. Zilla Sr needed the cybernetic upgrades to bring himself on par with his son. I always did wonder how much of the originally Zilla Sr was left though. If there was a third season, it would have been nice to him reanimated again, either by Cameron Winter or he military, in which we find out and see something of a Darth Vader redemption for the character.

The three-parter with Cyberzilla having to fight her son in the end (I refuse to believe it was a male), I never really understood at the time, but as I grew older, it is actually, as the video title states, heartbreaking.

I’d like to imagine that zilla somewhat, reawakened in cyber-zilla when he saw Godzilla (cause Jr earned the name Godzilla unlike his father) considering how he actually reacted when they met eye to eye. And he didn’t even attack like he was supposed too (even though it was probably because the aliens didn’t order him to attack godzilla, it’s still a nice head-canon that seeing one of his many many babies survive and standing right in front of him all grown up would’ve reawakened his former self even by a little bit which caused him not to make a move)

  • @logangrimnar3800

Considering the lack of necromancy abilities of the US military, it's safe to say the original Zilla was not actually killed. Preservatives would have destroyed the muscle tissue and all flexibility, so Zilla was probably placed in a coma from blood loss and as a reptile would have slipped into hibernation while they worked on him. Perhaps he was mostly brain dead, but sadly it's likely he could have been able to heal had they not essentially lobotomized him.

Either way Jr was sterile so the line ended with him if all of cybers offspring were like Jr than all cybers suffering would have been for nothing truly sad

This is the ORIGINA Zilla that was killed in the 1998 movie trying to avenge the death of his babies, brought back to life as a cyborg by aliens, and force to fight Zilla Junior, his off-spring and the adopted son of Nick!
