@@phddentltd.carsdentsdetail6612 I didn't mean to insinuate that you were selling YOUR vehicle at all. Because I don't know if you are or if you are not. I was speaking in generalities to the OP, not about you specifically. As for 'private collectors' some people simply don't know the real value of these cars. Or they do and they simply want a particular model so badly that they are actually WILLING to overpay. I'm a collector myself. As an example, I have a 1984 Cadillac Coupe DeVille that I bought about 12 years ago with 24K original miles. It only had one owner, who died. Its so clean you could eat off the engine. I paid $4,500 for it. I see similar examples from some of these 'dealers' who want $20K or more for them! I guarantee you they paid nowhere near that for them. The really amusing part to an old fart like ME are these younger guys making the videos of these cars when they put them up for sale. They don't even know what half the features are what they do or what they are called. I sit back and laugh my ass off!
I remember driving a '76 Eldo. Loved that flat floor and the gorgeous hood view. You felt like you could land a plane on it. And in snow, it just pulled on through.
This is fabulous automobile! A perfect time capsule from 1978. I truly would be very proud to own and drive this beautiful Cadillac. Wish I could purchase it!
This car should be in a museum! On second thought.. it would never be cared for as well in a museum as its being cared for now. So it should probably stay right where it is. 🙂 Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Sadly you wouldn't want to drive her on a public highway. I lost my 1978 Eldo to a collision with a driver that was distracted and ran a red light, the hit was bad enough to misalign the driver's side fender and hood. Body shop messed up the repair, I was cash strapped in San Francisco parking on the street/open paid lot. Back opera window was busted out for no good reason, I had to let Dinah* go. *short for dinosaur 😢 Every time I see one my ❤ skips a couple beats and memories come flooding back😊
I love hardtops more and this car's white colour and burgundy interior makes look it even more posh. RIP to the original owner, seeing how well kept it has been since new speaks volumes about how kind a person she was. The bumper extensions usually let you know how well kept a car like this one is and this one has its fender extensions still looking new.
Yes Richard is an exceptional human being, and we are honored to be the keepers of this amazing piece of automotive history in the past few years. Thank for your kind words.
BEAUTIFUL! I love the old Cadillacs from back in the day! I had an '83 Fleetwood Brougham D'elegance & my only complaint was the crappy preforming 4100 engine. I wish that Cadillac would take some notes from Dodge, Ford & Chevy & make a modern Cadillac that resembles the Cadillacs of the old days.
(8:05) it came equipped with the multi note horn (aka mafia horn) which was available only in Cadillacs and was optional on certain Buick models. It is a beautiful sounding horn, and it adds to the car's elegance.
LMAO! 😂It was NEVER called a 'mafia horn.' The correct name for it is a 'trumpet horn.' It's actually comprised of 4 different horns which play a different note (A, C, D and F) but all at the same time which gives it that sound!
@@cellpat2686 Well, trust me, I grew up in northern New Jersey right outside New York City during the time period these cars were new. LOTS of Italians and lots of mafia in that area you know. I never heard it before. And I've been a Cadillac enthusiast since I was 8 years old. I know pretty much everything about 60's through 90's Cadillacs. I believe that you may have read it. But your source was wrong in calling it that.
That Caddy is a true Pimp Car! ❤❤ the white on white on white! I can imagine the looks and the sayings that you get from people seeing you drive this Beauty! Cause I would know I use to have a 87 Lincoln Town Car white with white leather and a blue rag top people would say to me that is 1 all some car with that color combo!
OMG❤❤❤ I owned a canary yellow 1978 Barritz back in the early 1990's. Just a special land yacht. And the story on this one, OMGoodness! I agree, this has to be the finest personally owned Eldo. Just in the short time it took to write/tap this comment, I see my skin is turning 💚 If I recall correctly there are 31 body lines each side has 15 x 2 then the 31st runs down the center of the gi-normous bonnet and culminates at the wreath ornament 🎉😊
A lot of these Eldo's are PRE pollution so you can put on any headers and exhaust system. There are injector kits that will give you like 18 to 20 Mpg on highway. The front ends get loose on a lot of these cars but repair parts and suspension upgrades are available.
Some say the worse thing for a car is not to drive it but I'm not sure this one seems to be doing fine for being parked for so many years. It does have the perfect color combo nothing sweeter than a white Cadillac with a red interior.
This is very nice. However, in 78 the castration was complete. If push comes to shove, a 70 Eldorado would blow, the doors, trunk and hood of this time capsul. Even if the 70 was 200,000 plus miles. Such was the real power on offer at that time. But appreciate your sharing.
Misleading title.. one cannot claim being the best inbthe world as you would have to view them all. Aside from that, i had the privilege of seeing a black one with .7 miles never registered
We have no idea... honestly. One advertised on Hemmings for $90000 yes $90k but that car is a beautifully restored example. This one is 100% original. Make me an offer. Also the car will be listed on Bring a Trailer in a few weeks.

My dad had one in this exact color scheme. His was a 1977 and it had the wonderful Astro roof option and CB radio !!
I could be incorrect, but GM downsized all models in 1978. Therefore , this maybe 🤔 a 1977 😕!!!

It's rare to find one like this. That the plastic is intact on the front and rear is a huge bonus, I've heard it's very costly to replace.

What an absolutely beautiful car! How sad the cars of today lack styling, size, and interior color choices like years ago cars did.
5:00 almost all Caddy's suffer from the crooked headlamp problem that is unfixable.
The white hubcap centers were a '77 item, on white cars only. In '78 they were all black, regardless of body color.
