Mia Goth is unquestionably the #1 Horror Queen right now. Ti West hit the jackpot with casting Mia Goth and realizing what he had. I loved X, and then I loved Pearl even more. I can’t wait to see MaXXXine this weekend, and eventually own unexpected trilogy when I’m sure a boxed set will be released.
Looking great out there, you guys! I still need to watch the first two installments of the series, but a good opportunity to do so when this film hits the screens or streams. It sounds really interesting, I do love an 80's soundtrack as well and The House of the Devil is a Ti West flick I really enjoy (some of the others maybe not as much, but still looking forward to this new one).

Maybe it was coming so soon after seeing “Kinds of Kindness” but I felt like “Maxxxine” lacked a sense of danger within and outside the movie, like boundaries were not getting the pushing West could have indulged in given his success so far. I’d say think of it as a fun thriller. You benefit from seeing the others but I wonder if not having expectations might have made it more mysterious and exciting.
The late Queen was notorious for adopting a ‘head in the sand’ attitude when faced with difficulties. Charles seems similarly afflicted…the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
I didn’t care for X and didn’t see Pearl. However, I’ve seen the trailer to this movie three times and now I really want to see it. The cast, the setting, the whole vibe is cool. Thanks for this OOTT reaction. Looking forward to your full review.
I saw Pearl during the 3 dollar cinema day the other day and I saw X in the cinema with the Maxxxine preview the other day and the Maxxxine preview made me sooo excited to see the golden lady from guardian's of the galaxy who plays Queen Diana on the crown (I don't watch the crown) but I am sooo happy and excited to see her! My expectations are low for Maxxxine just because the other two movies were really good that this movie has a lot to live up to and it's been a while since the last two movies came out so Maxxxine needs to be really impressive. Hopefully it'll be good and not too disappointing.
🎉🥳30K🥳🎉 Congrats to you both!!! I'm betting that 50K will come in half the time!! I did 50k myself last weekend, but k as in kilometres😂, in the Bois de Vincennes in Paris!💪🏃♀💪
I've been into Ti West since I saw "House of the Devil" back in 2009. He's not always great but he's always interesting. His movies are worth checking out.
Depends on your taste. I personally thought X was the best. MaXXXine definitely has a lot more going on. X was really contained to being a survival horror. MaXXXine is more of a film noir thriller mixed with a whodunit mystery (although the killer is pretty obvious.) Kevin Beacon's character is particularly sleazy. I really liked him in the role of the killer's henchman.
Agree. Maxine is not an interesting character. The movie also should have spent time with the victim characters to add some suspense sequences. And the father. character performance was pitched at an 11 and I needed it at a 6
I still think Mia Goth should have won an Oscar for Pearl. I’ll never forget the monologue or the final smile!
Wholeheartedly agree
100%. But the oscars hates horror!
Okay lets calm down. Oscar? Stop.
@@breadordecideShe was deserving at least of a nomination, I think.
IM A STAR
Congrats on 30K subscribers !!
Thank you Joe!
Go for 40!
Mia Goth's performance in Pearl is one of the best I've ever seen... heartbreaking, scary, and darkly comic all at once.
That monologue at the kitchen table was breathtaking.

Over Maika Monroe? Come ooon lol, she's gonna be in Longlegs.
ayyy I was at the screening tonight and spotted y’all in the elevator heading to film this haha
Aww wish you’d said hi! 👋
for sure maybe next time. didn’t want to get in the way of the out of theater thoughts. It was fun to have Mia pop in. Pearl is still my fave
Congrats on 30k! was one of the first subscribers. I’ve been watching you guys since what the flick
So glad you're here Chris, thank you!

The ending reminded me of the Pagan scene from the Tom Hanks comedy Dragnet :)

My most eagerly anticipated film of the year. Mia Goth is my queen.

When Christie says something is gnarly my ears perk up

Probably won't like this then. Pearl is worth seeing. It's way better than X.

I really like the first two, for sure looking forward to this one. I like this as a horror trilogy, and of course Mia Goth is great.

Seeing it on Friday. One of my most anticipated movies. I doubt it can top Pearl for me but I am excited!
I hope to see Giancarlo Esposito play something different from his now usual Gus Fring / Stan Edgar archetype.
He plays opposite usual type in Coda. Not the Oscars CODA. Coda with Patrick Stewart.
I luv how your thumbnail facial expressions convey your opinions 💯😂👍
So amazing, congratulations ❤
I can’t wait to see this. I know it won’t be as great as Pearl, but I’m sure it will still be just as fun

Very excited.
I'm jealous. 😢
❤❤❤❤
I thought u guys would be all over the 80s 😂
Mia's performance was great. The third act missed the landing IMO.
I expect to like this but not as much as Pearl. Hopefully I’ll like it more than X.
Same. Pearl was great. X was alright.

Very concerned with the looks of disappointment on your faces in the screen grab.
This is my most anticipated movie of the summer.
So who likes it more?😢😢😢
I think Christie?

Cannot wait!! Loved the 80’s so lookin forward to a revisit! ANYTHING but New Coke….who actually fell for that?? 🥤♥️🎳🚬💕🎀🧘🏼♀️
