They did something similar when they sent the hologram of Ronnie James Dio on tour. I personally felt very uneasy about that - the world is full of excellent musicians and songwriters and composers, why would you want to give people the same old stuff over and over again? (Also in the case of Dio it didn't feel very respectful to his memory)I guess what I'd really like to say is, everybody's talking about how to save the music industry, like the artists' well being depended on the survival of the traditional industry people. In 2018, that's not necessarily true anymore. I hope to see more artists starting to take back power from the labels and soon.

Don't you think that is a little morbid? Live converts of dead musicians? And, in my humble and mediocre opinion, seems that this solution will only make a harder scenario for new music to emerge and make money. Yes, nostalgia makes lots of money, but shouldn't art be connected with the present instead of the past? Shouldn't we try something that makes money for and with new acts? This seems like a lame solution, and will only help a few people - most of them responsible for the music industry crises. I don't know, maybe i'm wrong. What do you think?

Most music careers are very short and there is no money in recorded music sales and it will only get worse without radical change. VR provides that opportunity. An event archive is only one-way artists, record labels and promoters can generate new revenue streams. There are other solutions that will create more opportunity for emerging and new artists than any other time in history. There is dozens of iconic music legends that will pass away in the next 12 months. Being able to see these artists perform in VR forever would mean a lot to new fans. Its no different in principle to a video documentary. The only difference is, you are inside the documentary.

and then I torrent the "experience" app.

Torrenting VR experiences is an interesting concept. Can you get illegal copies of triple A games and still access all the experiences that require an Internet connection?

I think the problem with this video is the presumption of the never ending mono culture.... which is now dead, thanks to the internet and smart phones.
Everybody's got their own thing they like, their own style, and access to any old music from decades to centuries back.
We have accessibility that we've never had before at almost no cost.
Maybe Woodstock is not something very relevant to most people anymore. Perhaps there is some historic significance. But is it really as relevant or impactful as the iconic MLK speech?
I guess if people want a virtual experience of being back then, fine. But I don't think this will really help or save the music industry... as if it needed saving at all.
As a musician, I don't really want to be a part of the industry. It's just not relevant or useful anymore.
There are better ways to publicize and distribute music these days... without being scammed through deceptive contracts.

old dead talent over giving new living talent a decent shot?
Sounds like trying to solve a problem with the same mindset that created the problem in the first place....jus sayin
