    The little minimalist pieces of music played by global users of Ocarina sound so otherworldly and lonely, like little candles flickering in the night far away from another. Such a lovely presentation! Much to think about.

      It's not that they don't know what they are doing. It is that it is a struggle to explain it to people who are not specialists in the field, in a way that they would understand. Also, this field of study is so new, and crosses boundaries between disciplines. So it is difficult to summarize with just two words "computer music", without meaning being lost between communicators. That is why this talk is focused on broadening the definition and explaining just a few of the basics.

      You can code all you want, and of course the DAW is just code at the end of the day, but it's always going to be a heck of a lot easier to mix with a DAW than via coding.

      Translation quite often ends up with different word counts for different phrases. Even ones of just two words.

    • @HuchickCSGO
      @HuchickCSGO 7 лет назад +5

      one word can easily mean more than one word in another language. souka (japanese) means "I see" or "I understand". Arigatou means "thank you". ore wa kowai desu means "I'm scared".

    • @livedandletdie
      @livedandletdie 7 лет назад +3

      JCI1990 not really, but shall we be technical The King of Songs is just 2 words in English.
      The is just a subject header specifying a word as a certain subject.
      of is a preposition. Without The and of, the word order changes into Song King, which literally has the same meaning in English.
      and Ge Wang is Song King and therefore the meaning is the same, now you have to acknowledge that Mandarin Chinese doesn't have plurality or prepositions.
      So Ge Wang could have more meanings.
      Song King
      The King of Songs, Kings of Song, King of Song, The Kings of Songs.

    Wow, that sample at about 10 minutes is awesome. It could be that artists could do two things at a time: expressing something physically and create their musid through that expression. I would love to see something like that.

    Can you create the "Electronic Tonalities" of Louis and Bebe Barron in the movie FORBIDDEN PLANET? They were true electronic music creators not in any way limited by any human instrument. I would like to hear more of this kind of "music" beyond what was in the movie. There must be millions of possible sounds and even symphonies that would fit in with their style of work. Maybe it could be analyzed and then expanded???
