well i play games a lot on my phone so performance, display, and battery life is extremely important for me. Sony wins imo. (edit) and plus, games like asphalt 8, sims free play, gta san andreas could really overheat your phone and could make you phone lag a lot

Very similar performance, but overall Sony edged it. Web browsing in particular was incredible on the Sony. RAM management better on HTC though. A pity I really don't like Sony's boxy designs or their skin, otherwise would definitely consider their phones.

When you use your phone, you're only going to load apps once then rely on memory management to switch between apps, and here I think HTC is the best of Android.

yeah results can't be perfect. but the difference in terms of when i'm pressing is probably a few milliseconds, whereas often the difference in results is half a second, a couple seconds, etc. so I think as long as the difference in the apps is about half a second/one second or more then they can be taken seriously. anything less than that no
I had expected the Sony XZP to maintain a lead...Sony Xperia handsets probably have the fastest Android processing outside of a Note - and I'm not even too sure about that one anymore...What I'm amazed about is that the HTC U11 was able to keep up with the Xperia...Both great handsets!

It has to be added that time differences in particular tests including heavy games were frankly speaking insignificant (2 games opened faster by HTC and one by Sony). Toe2toe fight. Sony won in web browsing but again I wouldn't consider 0,5 sec diff as a major speed advantage in daily usage. I don't know which phone I would recommend. I think it's just a matter if taste.
In terms of long term advantage and usage, the HTC U11 is surely the winner. Their phones never ever tend to get slow or laggy. Samsung and Sony have always had issues with software and UI. HTC all the way! :)

Before you say I'm just a hater, there is documented evidence of this that this very channel has provided and on PocketNow. It wasn't even a year ago that Sony were selling the X Performance for $650 that lacked 4K, the ability to shoot RAW, had buggy autofocus, thermal throttling and limited modes and that's just the camera.

So, my preliminary observation on my comment with your comparison between S8 plus and U11 that XZP is a bit faster was correct. I said it because of my observation on all the videos you've made comparing XZP against all flagships.
To be fair, the XZ's default screen resolution is set to 1080p, which likely accounts for the slight speed and temperature differences. It doesn't really matter since the average user isn't going to change the screen resolution. I still think it would be interesting to see a companion with the XZ set to QHD.

was it preloading the sites? you can see the full URL in the URL bar on Sony but not on HTC. still, Sony did a fantastic job. hopefully that's just a software difference.
My Sony Z3 compact is almost 3 years old now and only just starting to look at up grading. The longevity of Sony smooth running is a big win in my book. Not saying every phone they release is awesome but pick wisely and you won't regret it. I know HTC have a big following, I'm not dissing it. Just Sony does the internal background, non spec sheet stuff so well. Both these oems should sell alot more units than they actually do in Android market share. Imho both LG and Sammy don't have the same experience at the end of a contract. LG hardware, Sammy software have longevity issue's in my experience.

in real use. You'll deal with opening apps only one time. Then opening them again will be at multitasking speed. So the u 11 will win in speed during real use. i always open my frequent apps when booting my phone to keep them in memory for speedy performance.
From all your tests clearly the Sony is the fastest phone in the world currently, followed by the HTC though. Sony really nailed the XZ premium, it's such a beast and the HTC u tested here has 6gb of ram against 4gb to the Sony.

Sony must preload pages from memory.. Becuz that was insane the second time opening the pages .. Maybe it can tell when nothing has updated on the site so it just shows the previous load till you do something new or something new is added to that particular site.. Still very impressive.
the biggest measurement of speed is not really app openings. but rather gaming, Broswer, and multi-tasking. opening aps not much of a difference between phones. its these 3 that matter the most.
The Sony specs out nice, performs great, but why does it look like a flagship phone from 2013? Htc's design is almost prehistoric these days in itself, but next to the sony it looks very futuristic.

you had a live wallpaper on the htc and not on the sony. live wallpapers would take up more processing power and therefore slow the phone down. ive seen alot of people do this in speed tests and it truely annoys me. also judging from the extremely minimal difference in speeds, i'd say the u11 is about on par with the sony if u negate that stupid wallpaper

By the way, that's about something else though.. Have you tried to change your video angle? Try to get some good stand to place the camera/phone above the table and sit from the other side.. You'll end your struggle with uncomfortability, limited view... Just suggesting.
yeah I'd like to get the camera above the phones a bit more, but not really sure how. would require a special type of tripod I think

Holy shit, the Sony shills are out in full force in this one. I wonder how long it takes for the XZ Premium to overheat like past Sony phones. Before you say I'm just a hater, there is documented evidence of this that this very channel has provided and on PocketNow. It wasn't even a year ago that Sony were selling the X Performance for $650 that lacked 4K, the ability to shoot RAW, had buggy autofocus, thermal throttling and limited modes and that's just the camera.
No it's okay, no one think that. It's actually my worry too, but the XZP has fixed that problem, they don't get overheated anymore :)
do you know of any cases to get for the XZ premium? want to use it without reducing the chrome effect. theres no temepered glass protectors for the back and the plastic/gel cases reduce the chrome mirror effect :/

That website test was just insane, I'm getting mine in the mail tomorrow (XZ Premium) but its so fast in loading/rendering the pages I'm almost lost for words. xD Haha. Can't wait to play with the camera though! That's my main bit of joy :3

So, my preliminary observation on my comment with your comparison between S8 plus and U11 that XZP is a bit faster was correct. I said it because of my observation on all the videos you've made comparing XZP against all flagships.
Did you clean the cache in chrome?
To be fair, the XZ's default screen resolution is set to 1080p, which likely accounts for the slight speed and temperature differences.
It doesn't really matter since the average user isn't going to change the screen resolution. I still think it would be interesting to see a companion with the XZ set to QHD.
I think everyone is overreacting. The speed difference is that minimal that it could even be caused by him not pressing both at the same time, and while Sony tends to open a bit faster apps, multi tasking is still slightly better on HTC making them go toe to toe. Besides that fact it's amazing how fast, fluid and smooth these phones are, to me they're the best in the world right now. Kudos to Sony on that insane optimization
was it preloading the sites? you can see the full URL in the URL bar on Sony but not on HTC.

My Sony Z3 compact is almost 3 years old now and only just starting to look at up grading. The longevity of Sony smooth running is a big win in my book. Not saying every phone they release is awesome but pick wisely and you won't regret it.
I know HTC have a big following, I'm not dissing it.
Just Sony does the internal background, non spec sheet stuff so well.
Both these oems should sell alot more units than they actually do in Android market share.
Imho both LG and Sammy don't have the same experience at the end of a contract. LG hardware, Sammy software have longevity issue's in my experience.

in real use. You'll deal with opening apps only one time. Then opening them again will be at multitasking speed. So the u 11 will win in speed during real use. i always open my frequent apps when booting my phone to keep them in memory for speedy performance.

From all your tests clearly the Sony is the fastest phone in the world currently, followed by the HTC though. Sony really nailed the XZ premium, it's such a beast and the HTC u tested here has 6gb of ram against 4gb to the Sony.

Sony must preload pages from memory.. Becuz that was insane the second time opening the pages .. Maybe it can tell when nothing has updated on the site so it just shows the previous load till you do something new or something new is added to that particular site.. Still very impressive.
the biggest measurement of speed is not really app openings. but rather gaming, Broswer, and multi-tasking.
opening aps not much of a difference between phones. its these 3 that matter the most.
The Sony specs out nice, performs great, but why does it look like a flagship phone from 2013? Htc's design is almost prehistoric these days in itself, but next to the sony it looks very futuristic.

you had a live wallpaper on the htc and not on the sony. live wallpapers would take up more processing power and therefore slow the phone down. ive seen alot of people do this in speed tests and it truely annoys me. also judging from the extremely minimal difference in speeds, i'd say the u11 is about on par with the sony if u negate that stupid wallpaper

The web browsing test is quite misleading if you do the next test please be sure to wipe cached and history.
