I have to give credits to Sony Xperia XZ Premium for insane performance. I also have to give credits to OnePlus 5 for having a very similar performance and costing $300 less (at least in my country).
alexdiezg here in holland if you pre ordered the xzp itbwas 750 only but you'd get a 300€ headphone(cheapest store 260€) and fast charger qc 3.0 around 50€ here. it was a bargain at that price. the on plus 5 64gb is 499 and the 128gb is 569€
pankaj kumar Well OnePlus unlike Sony or any other company for that matter is very young. They simply couldn't afford to produce phones with water resistance, even better cameras, better screens etc. They're really good in performance but falling behind in some other categories.

I'll go with the OnePlus 5. Dash charge is just that good. And I'm a Sony fanboy. A couple of years on, the XZ Premium would be excellent in terms of regular software updates...but for everyday use, I really really need that devastatingly rapid charging mechanism on the OnePlus 5. And there's the obvious price difference.

COMPLETELY different price points. XZP is the better overall phone but the OP5 is extremely close in terms of performance outside of the screen for $200 less. Also OP doesn't charge tax in areas which would increase the gap.

Marketing strategy for OnePlus might work for those who haven't seen this battle yet but Sony has to be given the proper credit. True 4K screen with the best performance! Nah, some apps are useful. Some manufacturers just like differentiating themselves from one another, or provide more resources for a better user experience.
My phone was z2, i bought it 3.5 years ago, and still no complaint about performance and other, and now i change my phone to xzp, and yeah, i think my choice isn't wrong, coz sony still BEAST in term of performance, durability, quality and most important DESIGN, Sony doesn't like other phone with small bezel, sony have their style, and i saw comment the most people vote up sony but what make me confused why people still choosing samsung and iphone more than sony Can someone explain it to me??
No point in assigning a winner here tbh. The difference in speed when opening apps is pretty much negligible, and the multitasking test isn't really indicative of average use. I went with the OnePlus for the price, multitasking advantage, and faster charging but it really is just up to preference at this point. Manufacturers have made it very difficult to choose this year. I really wish Samsung had put a larger focus on speed and responsiveness. The S8+ would have been the definitive Android by a country mile this year, but being beat in speed tests by every competitor isn't a good look.
someone has to give op5 some props. its neck and neck with sony and in some ways superior (multi-tasking app opening) and does all of that while being cheaper.
Have you done factory reset before the comparison? Otherwise, XZ Premium has built up cache overtime and will run apps faster while the OP5 just came out recently.
I have an XZ premium and I have to say that it's an amazing phone before that I had a Xperia Z2 and it was amazing and is still working as good as new, Sony make excellent products and an excellent support on software, the one plus 5 is also a great but let's be clear that the software updates and support will never be so good as it is on Sony and Samsung ( even when I hate Samsung's smartphones).
It's OLED's tricks to the camera, and the camera adjusts the exposure down to not make the OnePlus 5's screen look overexposed, hence why the XZ Premium looks dim even when it's really not
Hmm..... Wow.... I can't really tell wich did win. I did think that Sony somehow did underperform in the chrome-test. It was strangly slow, and should normally be much faster. But it wasnt bad though. But this was definately two of the best phones this year. :-)
My suggestion is to not speak out their specs anymore, as people will simply refer to GSMArena or the official websites of these manufacturers to read their specs, which makes your videos even longer. Mentioning some key differences like 8GB RAM model, Exynos version, etc. is fine, but no need to tell everything like 4K screen, 12mp camera, etc. Sorry I just find it unnecessary on these speed tests. You could've even make this video shorter than 10 minutes and still give us the proper data that we need. No hate, just a suggestion though. And final one is maybe investing for a tripod that can be put above the phones' main displays because IPS LCD screens look dimmer at an angle, so the viewers cannot clearly see what's on their screens. The XZ Premium, aside from RAM, is obviously a more complete phone, but it's way too expensive, specially compared with the OP5. I wish I could have one!
i own sony xzp i think i really love it i m not gamer just normal user, in long term of firmware support sony is 2nd form pixel or nexus. if every own sony xzp you will get firmware support form sony at least 2 - 3 years. in term of battery you must not change until your phone die (or battery still good health when the time pass 2 - 3 years). one plus has very short batter life cycle and Dash change will destroy your battery life cycle so much.
Feels like you're compromising if you go with a OnePlus 5 (no microSD, only one speaker, no waterproofing, no 1080p display). It's ironic since OnePlus slogan was the exact opposite.

Fuck I love them so much. Here's the deal. Oneplus 5 is 150 dollars cheaper than XZP here. However, the warranty of Oneplus 5 won't be as good as Sony's. That I know for a fact. And I can find more suitable power banks and covers for XZP. But I love the OP5 so much and it's 8g ram and how fast it is and the OxygenOS. What the fuck do I do?!

one plus 5 better in multitasking but over all speed XZ Premium!! and take note guys! THIS IS A 4GB RAM phone vs an 8GB ONE!! this is how beast Sony's optimization is, reason why my 2gb ram Z5 Compact is still buttery smooth even at Nougat.

No point in assigning a winner here tbh. The difference in speed when opening apps is pretty much negligible, and the multitasking test isn't really indicative of average use. I went with the OnePlus for the price, multitasking advantage, and faster charging but it really is just up to preference at this point. Manufacturers have made it very difficult to choose this year. I really wish Samsung had put a larger focus on speed and responsiveness. The S8+ would have been the definitive Android by a country mile this year, but being beat in speed tests by every competitor isn't a good look.

someone has to give op5 some props. its neck and neck with sony and in some ways superior (multi-tasking app opening) and does all of that while being cheaper.
Have you done factory reset before the comparison? Otherwise, XZ Premium has built up cache overtime and will run apps faster while the OP5 just came out recently.

I have an XZ premium and I have to say that it's an amazing phone before that I had a Xperia Z2 and it was amazing and is still working as good as new, Sony make excellent products and an excellent support on software, the one plus 5 is also a great but let's be clear that the software updates and support will never be so good as it is on Sony and Samsung ( even when I hate Samsung's smartphones).

It's OLED's tricks to the camera, and the camera adjusts the exposure down to not make the OnePlus 5's screen look overexposed, hence why the XZ Premium looks dim even when it's really not

Hmm..... Wow.... I can't really tell wich did win. I did think that Sony somehow did underperform in the chrome-test. It was strangly slow, and should normally be much faster. But it wasnt bad though. But this was definately two of the best phones this year. :-)
Xz beat the shit out of apple ×DDDD . Now Xz take the place to be the fastest phone on the market.
My suggestion is to not speak out their specs anymore, as people will simply refer to GSMArena or the official websites of these manufacturers to read their specs, which makes your videos even longer.
Mentioning some key differences like 8GB RAM model, Exynos version, etc. is fine, but no need to tell everything like 4K screen, 12mp camera, etc.
Sorry I just find it unnecessary on these speed tests.
You could've even make this video shorter than 10 minutes and still give us the proper data that we need.
No hate, just a suggestion though.
And final one is maybe investing for a tripod that can be put above the phones' main displays because IPS LCD screens look dimmer at an angle, so the viewers cannot clearly see what's on their screens.

i own sony xzp i think i really love it i m not gamer just normal user, in long term of firmware support sony is 2nd form pixel or nexus. if every own sony xzp you will get firmware support form sony at least 2 - 3 years. in term of battery you must not change until your phone die (or battery still good health when the time pass 2 - 3 years). one plus has very short batter life cycle and Dash change will destroy your battery life cycle so much.
Love my Sony xz.If Sony just totally redesigned their hardware next time, they will be number 1.

Fuck I love them so much. Here's the deal. Oneplus 5 is 150 dollars cheaper than XZP here. However, the warranty of Oneplus 5 won't be as good as Sony's. That I know for a fact. While the performance by Sony is impressive, I cannot help but notice how dull the 4K display on the XZ Premium looks here compared to the Full HD display on the OnePlus 5! Shouldn't it be the other way around? Is AMOLED that big a factor!
