This game was pure lightning in a bottle they haven't been able to recapture since. A lot of it has to do with modernizing gameplay (not the graphics). If they could keep the skeleton and core of BF2 and just reskin it with a modern fresh coat of paint, You would see how strong the Battlefield community was. We were ready to die on the hill for BF2 and defend it to the death. We lived and breathed it.

game was multiplayer heaven, only RTCW gave me the same addiction. Tried 3 and 4 and while fun for a while, they couldn't hold a candle to BF2's Road to Jalalabad, Mashtuur City, Gulf of Oman, Dragon Valley and Strike at Karkand, perfection in map form

I absolutelly loved these two and bf2142 but Battlefield 2 was the pinnacle. After that, while still fun, it was all an attempt to become more call of duty. And the reflections on the scopes...
