I'm 5 years late, but there's a game called "Squad" which is like that mate. Not as complete as Battlefield 2, and not as hardcore as Arma, but you got the squad and the tactics.

BF2 a clearly superior game for its time as compared with BF3 or 4.. which the latter is increasingly getting worse... the old saying if it aint broke.... they just should have taken bf2 and uped the graphics... but no.. they went and ruined it... Nice vid btw

This intro it excellent and it is exactly the same as the DICE one made. The only thing make it more epic is because of new graphics engine and special efx compare to the old one it make the BF2 look lame. BF2 still greatest BF btw
if only modern battlefield is like old battlefield, Teamwork for the win, no level 100 colonel using jets and killing everyone or solo heli with infinite ammo, spamming TV Missiles from Spawn, no Infantry Using MANPAD, everyone walks and don't run and everyone fire in single shot and burst because guns are realistic in that game, just tactics, strategy, coordination and teamwork Ah good old days, i hope EA will make Battlefield 2 Remastered
I love BF2 as much as anyone but in fairness a good jet pilot or chopper pilot and gunner would kill everyone in bf2 as well. The J10 Chinese fighter jet in the right hands was untouchable. The Arab chopper as well. Unless of course you were playing infantry only in which case nade spamming was it's replacement. It's easy to look back on games like this with rose tinted glasses but it's still better than BF4. BF1 is great though.
@@mojojojo2150 The J10 was heavily nerfed in patch 1.5, so no longer so easy to dominate on Wake. The nade spam could have been fixed easily too by just reducing the throwing range, but DICE moved on to BF3 instead.

Hey European brother, there are still BF2 players in the US. Plus, the new Project Reality mod allows you to switch between vanilla BF2 and PRM at will. I prefer BF2, if I wanted realism I'd just boot up ARMA
What would be perfect would be BF4 destroyable environment and graphics without the extreme casualizing and with BF2's map design. I miss the BF2 map design the most. It was so much better. Much less flat, much bigger maps and just much more interesting maps in general.
FrobblOo Yeah, the map design in BF3/4 was repetitive as fuck. Every house looks the same and is plain empty. Also I would really like some mod & map tools. Don't forget the battlerecorder and I don't want a CoD-Like Level System anymore.
Fan vad awesome! Beautiful shot of the heli avoiding the missile and fireing one off itself, aswell as a bloody good shot when the heli leaves the area and the tank enters. Other cool shots were the planes in the beginning aswell as the car stunt jump in slow move.

BF2 is still alive here in EU...and in US...most of the players are playing with Project Reality mod 100/100 players - and a lot of full servers.
I only saw 2 full servers all the others have less than 5 players
