usually stock Honda's are slow, but a well build CRX with a Turbo K24 (i think i hear a turbo not sure), a freaking honda accord/odyssey/CRV engine, is not. You gain performance just with the chassis weight difference alone.
And less length that has to be set to hit another gear ratio, it's shorter on the thrower for quicker shifts and the handle is the way it is to respond to the quicker shifts lol
ok so somebody explain to me, it sounds as car is rev matching itself when downshifting because I see no heel n toe or is it something else? The shifter aint sequential or am I missing something? or is it a really hard clutch so it just catches immeadetly?
its a dog tooth gearbox, and hes not revmatchng, so its just the engine is always trying to match the gearbox revs, but because the flywheel is so light it does not seem that bad
not gearbox but aftermarket computer setting will rev-match on a downshift. its getting more common in factory cars these days so no need for aftermarket ecu.
My 88 crx hf weighed 1600 with just back stripped he doesn't have dash door panels center console even carpet gone not to mention tons of factory crap you dont need anymore so id say he is in the 1400 range with k24 300+hp its insanely fast mine was fast just with a stock b16a swap
@@SavageD1984 wonder if this is an hf, people underestimate power to weight ratio. i guess i was taking into account his own body weight lolz. its crazy though what ive seen racers do to their hondas. drill the body into swiss cheeze in some parts just to save a couple more lbs.
@@atranimecs that is all true and yea definitely in the 1600 to 1800 range with body weight . once you own or drive a crx you understand weight to power ratio is amazing and thats with a stock motor when you start to increase power by mods, turbocharged, or motor swaps you really see how in comes into play crxs are so fun. Great platform for a track car or drag ....cheap to build compared to alot of other cars.. As far as hf thing you cant really tell from the vid only one angle and interior is completely gutted but it really dont matter what trim it is when you strip in completely and swap out the motor they will all weigh the same basically i know the lighest one from factory is the 88 HF the 88-89 was lighter than the 90-91s not sure what made the difference but yea some people will do crazy things to shed pounds and if you do alot it can make a difference for sure .... I sure miss my Crx i will have to get another one someday i like the civic hatchbacks too and the coupes 92-95 are great and the 96-00 are nice as well 👍👍👍
From now on when ever someone says "Honda's are slow" I'll be showing them this video of a CRX passing Subies and Evos

wolveric0 This is all motor, no turbo or any forced induction.
bryan larrea even more impressive, sorry if i misinformed, car performance looks aggressive and powerful.
wolveric0 It's all in the head, the k series has one of the greatest flowing heads. Especially with big cams, they can make 300+ whp na.
Civics are like road legal gocarts and its amazing
+Evan Is Evan and on what do go-karts ride ? xD
Marko Sterpin lmao my bad that came out wrong
Evan Is Evan yeea
Edited lmfao
ashame its not a honder sivic
Damn! This is like playing Gran Turismo on easy mode, you pass every car with ease like this guy
My goodness... you're killing all your competition... wow
It's like the car is a wheelie bar for the engine..
word 😂
that thing is STUPID fast
Sir or madame, I believe your shifter throw is short.
Greg Blank AF!!!!
Naturally aspirated?
Pretty serious time attack cars you were steamrolling there. Must be a bad ass car. I know 300+hp crx is fast as hell, but thats only half the battle
Why is the shifter throw so short when the stick is that long? How is it possible?
And less length that has to be set to hit another gear ratio, it's shorter on the thrower for quicker shifts and the handle is the way it is to respond to the quicker shifts lol
Five inches of travel vs fifteen inches of travel.
is it just me, or is the steering column/steering wheel flexing under high load? Car looks super fast and fun, thanks for sharing!
Need to do this to my 1991 CRX SI... :D still has its original D16.
It is a beast on the track!
Is it just me, or are there an unsettling amount of what looks like bolts wandering around the passenger footwell :D
Still sounds great :D
+Danja Bis It's not a race car without bits of wire insulation, used zipties, or random fasteners rolling around on the floor. #becauseracecar
counts the g forces
Weight reduction bro
1:53 watching those downshifts is quite painful.
needs a matte black dashboard for less reflection on the windshield
he does not heel & toe but it sounds like he does..how come? isn't it bad to rest your foot on the clutch like driver does?
Hold up. Does the car have automatic rev match?
wtf happened at the end? it looked like vtec wouldn't engage and the car went in limp mode
thinking the same thing, clutch or transmission issue?
that is sickie bro solid ride yall
Awesome N/A machine. 👏 👏 👏
Insane!!! I hope to make my hatch as awesome one day.
The camera angle is deceiving ... that dude really was hauling ass
How easy he nibbles this Spoilermonsters ... amazing , you and your car are one unit !!!
"When VTEC Hits"compilation video 😂
Needs some down force on that for better grip in high speeds. Looks crazy slippery when he drives at high speeds.
What is your gearing setup
N/A with vtec sound 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What trans is this? Or shifter?
ok so somebody explain to me, it sounds as car is rev matching itself when downshifting because I see no heel n toe or is it something else?
The shifter aint sequential or am I missing something? or is it a really hard clutch so it just catches immeadetly?
+Marko Sterpin yea he releases clutch without heal and toe... guess the flywheel is extremely light and the engine is free revving
+Ferdinand Kolev ahh that could be too
havent thought about it :)
cheers for heads up !

Slipper clutch maybe?
dogbox as lucas said
That skyline was ticked. Especially after he got lapped buy a Honda.
Great driver
how does a gearbox work to have the same effect as a heel-toe? what kind of gearbox is it?
not gearbox but aftermarket computer setting will rev-match on a downshift. its getting more common in factory cars these days so no need for aftermarket ecu.
Hell yeah, buddy!
amazing!!
89 si here...Awesome!
So cool!
mrslapside youre pretty
now i want a crx so i can modify it to be a track car...thanks
how much does it weight in that config? Jesus if it's under 2000lbs it's like having twice the torque!
most people with crx racers stripped like that, probably somehwere between 1600-1800 lbs.
My 88 crx hf weighed 1600 with just back stripped he doesn't have dash door panels center console even carpet gone not to mention tons of factory crap you dont need anymore so id say he is in the 1400 range with k24 300+hp its insanely fast mine was fast just with a stock b16a swap

@ Eurospeedway Lausitzring

Amazing
Dang bruh watching you drive like that gives me anxiety 😂. Haha nah great build tho!
👍👍👍👍
wow !!!!!!!!1
a little big devil !!
Almost nothing about everything this is is even a little bit Honda.
passed that gtr np -_-
the rest of the cars looks like they are not racing :)
Please learn to heel and toe. Your driving would be smoother.
Lol🙄
