    I bought this same exact setup.except racing beat springs.if you don't use the metal stock price that locks into the rubber stopper all the rubber pieces will just fall right through not allowing it to have full strut pressure.me an my dad that has owned a mechanic shop put the whole suspension together.i bought the KYb agx kit for 770.there kit is flawed me an my dad got two washers an put one on each at the top of the strut where the metal lip is that was holding the old meat stopper allowing for all the parts to be held tight up top.with out the washer or the old metal bracket that doesn't fit on the new stoppers.it won't work.had to put in the washer at the top found one that's snug on the lip of the metal circle at the top to hold it tight.

    Hey bud, I know this is almost 5 years later, but I'm having an issue and am also running KYB AGX. Did you use the metal spacer "set plate" that was at the top of the original boot on the rears? My problem is that once I took the car off the jacks, the rear strut rod is pushing the stopper above the chassis in the strut tower. Currently set on 4/8 so it isn't as stiff as could be.

      We ate having the same issue. Nice to see someone rebuilding a strut but would be better if they show how to "rebuild" the strut in order in case things get re arranged.

      You have to add a washer around the top of where the old metal stock one was.so it stops all the pieces from falling through.had me an my dad stumped for about an hour.and my dad owns a legitimate mechanic shop for 35 years.he new right away the setup was wrong.so we added a good size washer at the top before you put on all the rubber make sure it's snug around the lip at the top.

    Bilstein only make inserts for the FC front. You have to cut open the stock struts to fit them, which is a bit dodgy if you ask me.

    I'm currently trying to install new front struts in my 1989 Rx-7 GTU. Did you have to take your brake caliper off to remove and reinstall your struts assemblies? The top bolt on that strut comes off fine, but the lower one is blocked by the brake caliper and I can't wiggle it out.

    how do you like the AGX in your rx7 ? I just got one and have one blown rear and its causing skip so im thinking of getting agx struts

      +labrados12345 Just put KYB gas a just in the back of my V8 swap FC they do really well and you can pick them up for a good price from rock auto. Its not a racing setup but for the road its a good firm ride.

    Hey Grey,
    I am Swapping in a LS1 into my 88 Mazda convertible. (not far from you in Kitchener) I am wondering how much you paid for that set up? I am just looking to compare prices to get my best bang for buck. I have rebuild all the of suspensions expect for the springs and shocks which I am waiting until after the motor is in to figure out what will work best in the setup.

      Swanton187 Everything including the OEM components for front and back was about $1200. Springs from amazon, struts from rockauto, OEM from mazda dealer.
