My 85 gsl-se needs to come out of the corner of the garage. I lost 3 gears in the tranny in 1999 it’s been in the garage since. I’ve had 4 rx-7 81,83,84 and my 85 lol no I’ll never sell it and this year the cover is coming off. Love the channel
i have been looking at doing some bc racing coilovers in the front, they have a different design which looks like it fits a lot better.. very interesting to see how the TTT setup works! thanks for the video 👍🏽
I also thought the same thing about the struts on my rx3 being blown out but there is supposed to be a little fluid where the insert slides in. Koni used to make adjustable inserts back in the day
Run 15x9 0 offset wheels. 1/4 to 3/8wheel space in front with some negative camber.. Instead of welding a support ring for spring adjuster you could use a split collar camp. I used that common way because I wasn't able to weld back then. Did you put urethane bushing in your trailing arms.? They will bind to the point of bending the arms and tear up the bushings. Drag car your fine with it.
Take a look at Koni 8641-1072SPORT struts for the front. They are made for the rear of an MR2 , but fit the RX7 strut tube. Tire Rack, Summit, etc should have them in stock.
it i were to use a coilover thing like that i would most likely just give it 3-4 high welds at two places along the length of the shock tube so it would be a tight fit where light taps with a hammer would be needed. seems a lot better than o rings
ground control sells a complete coilover system for all model rx7s, 2,000 for the kit but it might be worth looking into if you aren't satisfied with your setup
Man, I’ve always heard to stay away from T3. This video kind of reinforces that imo. I know old school mix and match guys from back in the day made shit work with o-rings. But this is a product made for a specific application. To provide rubber o rings to take out that slop is unacceptable imo. I would put a sleeve in there like you guys described and weld the fucker straight on. Or throw it away and buy BCs. I truly love mine. Insanely simple install and nice low ride height, stock geometry everywhere else.

I did the weld on BC BR coilovers on my 83… worth every penny and would highly recommend them.
The Rubber o-ring solution works. I used the same solution back in the nineties, and they are still on my car with no issues.
Yes!!! The prodigal Justin returns!!! 😅 Man you’re grinding through the car AND the content! Thank you guys!

T3 normally sends these kits out with a couple of orings to fix that clearance issue
Nice...... I will send you pics when I get done with mine brother

I went this route, I had to add 3mm spacer
I had to shave mine down and make an adapter bushing for the factory strut mounts
I did the same but with tokico Illumina MR2 shocks. No available anymore
I just installed these last year. Grind down the conical nub to fit in the tube, no problem. Got mine from RCA Garage, highly recommend them!
Do you have a video doing the 5 lug conversion

12:24 a collet is what you're thinking of
How do u drop the oil pan on 85 rx7 12A to change the gasket?
Why not use a single bolt on 25mm wheel spacer rather than stacked slip on spacers?
Check out pac performance in Australia you have to send them your original strut but they do a mean coil over with a willwood brake setup
Rad, I love your videos man! I have a question, does the spindle mount come off the bottom of the strut?
Couldn’t you cut your perch , push it down and weld it back on, use the honda coilover kit and find some o rings at oreillys and have the same thing?
Hiro performance sells adjustable ones for the fb. I believe bc racing also
🔥🔥🔥 brother im.looking for a Gsl-Se wheels if you have a set of 4 let me know
Do you ever press your own rotor/stat bearings? I'm about to do it myself since I got quoted the price of the tools for the job itself lol. Any tips?
Man you got my vibrant muffler and now my direzzas your stealing my whole set up
🤣🤣
These are Falken rt660 lol
@@RADPotential really they look wicked similar

What's that's rear wheel/tires size?
You painted the window frames red...............
bc racing has a much better solution for first gen coilovers. The vargas brothers install them on their drag car during season 2 of build and battle.
I just wish the BCs had better shocks. I ran BC on my FC and wasn't too impressed.
