From 8/2/15: Police pursued the man for about 30 minutes before the chase came to an end with a deadly confrontation in the 9000 block of Beechnut near the Beltway.
Police say he was intentionally hitting other drivers and when they tried to pull him over, he tried to ram their patrol cars.
Officers finally used their patrol cars to box him in a parking lot on Beechnut. He started ramming the cruisers. Two officers fired at his truck. He managed to drive through patrol cars and cross a median before crashing into a sign near a Shell station.
HPD spokesman Victor Senties said, "The officers tell us when they gave him the verbal commands and approached he had a funny look in his eyes, almost like he was in a trance. Not entirely there, just completely ignoring commands and had a sort of wild look in his eyes."
Police approached the truck and realized the driver had been shot. Police say the man was given a tourniquet at the scene and was then taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The suspect was identified as 63-year-old Virgil Lee Reynolds.

I don't know why some People run from Police. All they're gonna do is call for more backup. More Units join the chase while more are waiting up ahead. You can't outrun the radio. All you're doing is endangering innocent drivers on the road and yourself. Just pull over and save everyone a lot of trouble.

Suspect is down and there's enough law enforcement personnel watching the suspect. Why are the other officers and Deputies ignoring the other parties that were probably injured. Some are useless individuals in law enforcement

Not an awesome job. The spike strips should have gone all the way across, even into the grass. They don’t have that capability I guess so it was a waste of time. They had so many more chances. Should have been stopped way before he hit those cars.
9 police vehicles required !!! Our police departments are insanely over staffed, on a recent trip to France we saw 2 officers in a little Renault tackle 4 armed guys in a Mercedes - small town near Paris, no drama just quick and calm. Ridiculous where our tax dollars go. 😢😢😢

I just know that the armed police in this country would not have opened fire if there was an innocent member of the public clearly in the direct line of fire, you clearly see one cop adjust his fire AFTER he had opened fire with an innocent vehicle in his direct line of fire.
