Craig I'm 25 retired after 25 years as an independentvused csr dealer. I moved to strickly wholesale as soon as I delevoped the skills to do so as to avoid having to deal with retail customers. Last 10 years I dealt with roughly the same 10 or 22 retailers and auctioned off everything I bought that they wouldn't buy. I admire your recon knowledge so much. If I had your recon skills I would have made more money and retored earlier.
That pink stuff you used at the start is AMAZING!! I used it in 1999-2000 when I started at the honda dealership from the detail department. Found it again a couple years ago at a local dealership and bought 5 gallon. It's the ONLY thing I've ever used that doesn't need agitation on wheels.
I use my backpack blower for drying our vehicles. Works like a champ and it’s just that much less of a chance for adding more swirl marks by drying with microfiber towels.
Thanks for these videos. I’ve watched about all of them. I enjoy the tips, tricks to fixing cars. I love cars and love seeing 1000. Cars to $90000 cars you have dealt with. Keep it going. Don’t give up. It’s nice to see an honest car dealer. My daughter needs a car. I’ll come buy one from you. I’m only in NY. Keep it going.
I'm a dealer in NJ. your videos are great. Just had to comment on this one. I detail more of our higher end or speciality cars. Thoise pads you are using need to be washed and cleaned lol
Craig your new employee can learn a so much on youtube from professional detailers, there are a ton of how to use videos on buffers ect.... The newer Buffers are great the have clutch that will keep you from burning paint. Great video as usual
I would do the clay directly after the deep clean, especially because you left the car to dry out and then you introduce clay lubricant. Great video! I've never seen anybody show how to properly use an extension cord!
Another important point when using a buffer is to always make sure the rotation of the buffer is going off of edges and ridges. Having it rotate against edges and ridges is how you burn the paint.
The transformation was insane! Quick tip, if you want to restore the black plastic trim pieces, try using a blowtorch. It will heat up and restor the black finish of the trim pieces. Great Vid!
Does it mar up the paint? Not all clays are made equal. Mothers won’t mar up your paint like other brands. I put bad holograms in my paint using another brand
I think some paintless dent removal tools and some practice you may be able to ask a little more for these cars/ trucks and it would more than offset the cost of those tools. I would also be a good set of videos watching you learn how to do it.
I also noticed the little divot in the hood. That would have popped out easily with paintless dent tools. I've done it on my own vehicles very low skills needed for that divot
Craig, I have a confession to make. I only buy used cars. If I go to look at one and it hasn't been buffed and detailed, I walk. You cater to folks like me.
Very good tutorial Craig. You're a man of many facets. :) BTW, I do like the Meguiars products, but I've found that the Tutle Wax products do just as good in some instances at a lower price point. Keep up the good work sir.
That Jeep looks like "fade outs" we get in Florida. That detail probably will add an additional $1000. gross. I wish we had the time to detail our units like we did in the past. Too old to do this myself, we send the cars out to an independent detailer, so-so results. Sometimes it is more cost effective to send these units over to MAACO.
Craig, you don't need to use that whole piece of clay. I guess it helps you get a larger surface area....but I always break off like 1/10th of the clay and do the whole car with that.
Hey Craig, I trust that you and your family are healthy and happy. Great “How To” video today! Back when I was in the business we were always looking for vehicles that needed the paintwork rehabilitated like this Jeep. The flat looking paint really reduced the wholesale value of the unit and was pretty easy to bring back to life. Red vehicles looked especially bad with the way the paint would develop a whiteish cloudy finish. It was also the easiest to bring back to life. All those cars paid for college and grad school for me. Your channel remains my favorite on RUclips. I look forward to your next one. Peace, DrRick
One tip on the clay bar.....it actually says it in the directions....it's rip off a small piece and "mold" it in your hands for a bit to make it softer and then you can use a new piece on each panel. Folding it over itself becomes less important and much less chance to fold out an imperfections from a previous panel and scratch one your working on after. Edit: oof you didn't warm it up or work it all before using. Probably missed alot of small stuff. The warmer and softer it is the more micro-contaminants you can get off.
Half assed detailing. Professionals use rotary polishers, amateurs use dual action polishers. Do not use a drill for paint correction unless it has speed control, apply product at 1/2 maximum speed.
Craig is going to introduce a course in how to polish a car for only $4999. He will give you all the tips and tricks that he and he alone knows about polishing a car. It’s just $4999. Just look at the genius of this guy. I don’t know about you guys, but I am absolutely in awe of his brilliance.
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds I did my best to equal your ridiculous comment. See you in daycare. Oh wait, you won’t be there cuz you gotta be potty trained to get in.
Craig I love your videos and I have been watching you for about 2 years. What car would you recommend for someone who is trying to flip their first car in todays market? (I’m 18 btw)
The one you can buy at the best value. Maybe one where you can see a way to improve value for less than it cost to add value. There is no one make or model for you to target. Look for cars with good reputations that you can buy cheap and then do something to að value. Do you know mechanics?
Time for a pressure washer and foam cannon. I didn't see an soap or suds I'd consider adequate. Whatever that hose attachment you had with the blue soap was one of the worst I've seen.
Craig, I generally enjoy your videos and the knowledge you have regarding the buying and selling of cars. That being said, please don't post any more videos on detailing cars as I worry that someone will follow the advice here and go out and buy a rotary tool and wool pad, use some rubbing compound and completely burn through the paint of the car. There are times when you should leave things to an expert and this level of compounding and polishing is one of those things.
Love your humble but stick to selling cars.Your giving advice and bad habits on a how to detail session.Your pads are dirty and wobbling on the machine, your pad choice in different levels are backwards.Wool first then foam

I would love more DIY tutorials like this! Curious what other things you do to make your car retail ready.
Great video craig, the only thing is when you clay bar, you dont wanna do circles, always wanna do the same motion to help prevent sratchs or marring
It already has plenty of that and his end goal was to paint correct in the end so it really doesn’t matter
I use my backpack blower for drying our vehicles. Works like a champ and it’s just that much less of a chance for adding more swirl marks by drying with microfiber towels.
I use a Stubby blower attachment to my dewalt battery powered blower does a great job. Can find them on amazon and etsy
Resul did a good job 🙏 Basarilar Resul kardes!
Love these types of videos! $400 to Ferrari series is great as well, but these tutorial videos for beginner level really resonate with me haha

If you hand brush your lift arms rustoleum yellow you won’t be disappointed. I did it and it makes the shop look much better
I've had good luck with cheap polishers, just take them apart when new, change out the cheap grease with white lithium grease and good to go.

I'm into wraps I've been really impressed maybe not that junk but a nice car something that has a slick look wrap is by far worth it
Nice job Craig. Always appreciate your videos. Jeep looks fantastic.
Reminiscing, my loved 2011 Cherokee forest green, she would haved looked a treat after your efforts. 😊
Like the toilet bowl brush use for car detailing.

I'd also work on that small dent on the hood, I think it will pop out easily enough. Thx for the tips!!

Plumber's putty works as well as the clay that comes in those clay bar kits but costs way less.

What about adding a mid level ceramic coating as an added "no cost" benefit?

Just as long as the end result is about the same , it doesn’t matter how you do it. You gotta do what works for you.
Thanks for the DIY video.
Whenever I see someone on RUclips using power tools and not wearing basic PPE, it makes the video more interesting.
Detail brush’s? Craig says…ain’t nobody got for that! Gimme that one step below a wire brush with a long handle 😂

I wonder the brand of rust and calcium remover to used? And we’ll maybe u have a video of where u did use some sand paper.

Why don’t you use a pressure washer when washing the cars? Would make recon more effective and efficient even if just a cheap one.

awesome show as usual honest and sincere. Flying wheels is whicked awesome
