I was the one that recommended the denim pad, and I was so excited to see you make a video on it, that I had my wife come in and watch it too lol we even made grilled cheese sandwiches for the occasion.
Yes I remember! Feel special sir I literally bought those pads 20 min after your comment!
Do you have a link to the pad you used/used in this video?
@itsturbinetime Knowing is Half the Battle.
The other half is lasers, lots of lasers! Haha.
#1 paint channel on RUclips, just because it’s the most down to earth, practical, with real world solutions! You will not come across another professional that will always think out of the box and possess the skills and knowledge to get real world results no matter the situation, a professional in any trade can have different tools, supplies, etc….thrown at them and they know how to deliver a great result, I think I can speak for everyone in your community, awesome job and keep them coming, the shorts too!😂👍💪
I really appreciate you my friend.
We will keep fighting the good fight.
This guy and paint society are awesome.
Thank you !!!
Fantastic job and beautiful explanation of the process & products....
Absolutely
been using denim for polishing and directing a while now. you never see any of the top pros on RUclips using it ever. the ones that do just know how great it is
It's a dang good pad !
That Acura looks good and so does the 3000gt! I’m about to buy some speedokote supplies, you got a good discount code for me?
I just pqinted a bicycle with speedokote color blender .i put epoxy color pigment in it and it came out opaque and for a beginner i would now say that epoxy pigment and pearl takes some skill.i have been touching spots up about three diffrent times after cleaning gun thinking i was done
I learned from the best. I dont even have buffing or wet sanding materials in my shop.
I almost never wet sand or buff .
But it is the cherry on top for some jobs
I stared using them 6 months or so ago and I wish I had them 20 years ago also !!!! We use them all the time esp for collision work. Makes denibbing way faster now
Yup!
Do you only use a DA for this? How about a rotary?
Thanks for sharing this with us Marco, I haven't used these denim pads but I have seen the Kandy Man use them on one of his cars and was rather impressed but it was better to see you use it on a real world DIY paint job with a small compressor compared to him using them on a state of the art booth spray job🙏👍John UK
Yea first time use I like it
ive used the denim pad on a rotary and it works very well , backed up with a polish on a da machine
Good idea
U put a directly denim pad with an abrasive product on it?
@@bm_wuratli6883 compound
I tried that pad a while ago and haven't used it since, but land to there is also a orange pad made of Corduroy .
It's good to use on flat surfaces I wouldn't use it over any edges
Awesome! Do you ever use Klasse in the red bottle? That stuff is worth its weight in gold!
I've tried denim, and it works. The problem I had was the edges beginning to fray slightly and become twisted causing them to be bigher than the face of the pad. Since the pad is not flexible that caused pigtails. Perhaps the rotary version of the pad would not have this problem since it's softer and the material wraps around the top of pad with no exposed edge.
Osren also produces their own abrasive called NAO Compound 56 that is specifically designed to be used on orange peel levelling jobs paired with their denim pad. With how well this job turned out, I'm sure it could turn out even better when paired with that compound.
Yea wasn't trying to get it perfect. Just a beater car
where is the link to buy
looks like you have some tiger striping in your base coat color. do you spray with an x pattern when you spray metallics or pearls? also aeropro a610 spray gun will lay clear way better and it's a cheap dyi gun for really cheap and you can toss it when it wears out.
There was not any tiger strips in base , could be lighting cause it was cross hatched multiple times
Great vid, thanks.
😎😎
With how many people paint their cars with rustoleum turbo paint, would u make a vid to try get the best finish possible out of it, like paint, cut and buff on a spare panel if u have one laying around.
I've pretty much stopped Rustoleum painting simply being it's actually more expensive than some car paint now
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 😮
AMAZING CONTENT BROTHER!!!!
Thanks!
Love you bro@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937
Would it be a good alternative to color sanding a freshly painted single stage black? Speedokote of course😊
If your not skilled with wet sanding absolutely
Do you think 1.3 is too small of a tip for single stage in ~60°f weather?
1.3 is fine. Summer time can bump it up to 1.4
Really they been out and about for a long time i only use them to tone down and not to fully remove it. Best way in my opinion will be a combo of wet and dry sanding depending the clear
True !
What's the name of the denim pad you used?
Awesome video.
Sorry man got off Amazon impulse purchase 🤣🤣🤣 if you go on amazon and type in denim buffing pad a bunch come up 🙂
Carpro is one of the original manufacturer’s of the denim pad.
You can also get them at harbor freight 2000 3000 4000 and then get 8000 3M trizak to finish .it will leave a awesome showcar finish.
Yup!
I’m having trouble locating them at harbor freight

Should check out my 3 denim pad set
I'm guna play around with them a little more but so far I like them
Hey trigger...i get around too...Jay Fox aka CarsRcool
Im suprized.. flat and glossy..i use rotary with the farecla mop and 360 compound.works fast..but can ruin clearcoat fast too..ima look into denim..thx for video❤❤
No issue!
wow didnt know those existed. how long do the pads last? can you wash/clean them?
also idk if you can get this polish in the states, menzerna heavy cut compound 300 and 400. works really well to get 2k scratches out and also gives it a factory gloss at the same time. they also have a 3 in 1 , cut ,polish and wax. granted doesnt cut that much but can bring the old stuff back to life in 1 product. German brand sold a lot in Europe and uk.
I'm pretty sure you can wash them. Not sure on durability being I only used once 😎
Nice. The instant you started talking (by saying “total”), I KNEW you were from Pittsburgh.
🤣🤣🤣
Yeah good video😊
Absolutely!
Nice!
😎😎😎😎😎🥰
did u wait a week before u denim cut and buff?
Yea I always give the clear plenty of time to harden up and dry
Kandyman used that pad sometime last year.
Yea he also has a good video on them
Do you think this will work with single stage paint?
Any 2 part urethane paint most likely
I don‘t See a denim pad in your shop. Is it the wool pad, 9“?
I'm using the denim pad in the video
Nice video
Thanks bud!
Sir.
1)Try a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and distilled h2o to clean the surface.
2) Prime your pad with 5 dime sized dabs of polish and before turning on the machine rub the pad on the area you are about to work on. Priming the pad keeps the machine from jumping and so does keeping your hand on top of the machine above the pad. Work in a roughly 2’x2’ area using a cross hatch type pattern slightly overlapping each pass.
*Do not squirt polish all over the place-you wasted a lot of polish
As far as ceramic coatings some can make a mess out of a perfectly polished and prepped vehicle and actually need sanded off to start all over wasting time and money.
Having three high quality different color microfibers is a great way to keep track of what order they are used in order to remove the excess ceramic, buff the area, then rebuff the area extending a bit past the 2’x2’ area you are working on while ceramic coating the vehicle
Appreciate the tips!
Can you use that pad on a junk panel to see how quick it will burn through the clear
Sure!
Whats the link to the one you bought?
I think they bought them all. The only Osren denim pad I can find on Amazon is $36 with 1 6.5" pad and the polish they sell. The other brands all have like 2 stars🤷🏼♂️
I'll have to go back and look I bought off impulse I just clicked a button not much attention 😂
Just smashed out my first paintjob with single stage white and it has some orange peel, will this method work on single stage paint?
Depending on how many coats you have on
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 3 total; 1 coat light, 2 medium/heavy.
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 Got the typical 3 coats, 1 light, 2 medium/heavy.
Looks like good cut but it’s throwing some dust maybe mix some polish u used in step two might help
The speedokote finishing compound we sell is super cheap at only 20 bucks a bottle but does throw some dust.
The speedokote select line is better
Need me some of them Levi’s jeans pads
Yes 😂
That's impressive for having no wet sanding done
Yea I was happy
I want that car perfect before I pick it up 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
You didn't post a link to the pad you bought. The ones I'm seeing have like 2 stars😂
Amazon lol
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 the osren denim doesnt show up on amazon only their velvet. Carpro are the ones on amazon currently and they have bad reviews.
(within the first 0:12 seconds of video, my brain goes) "Bro, are you wearing a garage door clicker?"
Yes 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Here i am trying to get my orange peel that good.
Haha just takes practice
@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 i started with the fluid wide open and was using the pressure range on the can. Well i just read today that if the droplets are big, then you need to turn the fluid down. I turned the air up to 15psi from 10 and went on much better. Now i just gotta repaint everything.
@@____MC____ yup always set up test panel if you can
Leave your orange peel alone if you plan on keeping the car because, in time, pores so tiney that you can't see will increase exponentially and youll grow rust from beneath the paint. Your paint will look like as if you painted over rust when it gets bad.
Some of that iron-x you spray will actually go down to the bare metal, and not all of it is surface iron that ironx is dealing with.
I know it sounds a bit irrational, but I've lived the experience with my own vehicle. I have rust growing beneath perfectly fine looking paint everywhere I messed with the orange peel, and no rust everywhere i left the paint alone.
And, yes, where the rust is growing still has clear coat. I also utilize a paint thickness guage.
Rust has absolutely nothing to do with sanding orange peel
Those pads are made to be used with a rotary.
It actually worked surprising good with a random orbital
But I'm sure much better with rotsry
Are you the owner of Speedokote?
Nope
5:32.. don't mock my certification.. I paid $14 and 4 hrs of MY LIFE BRO...
😅
🤣
i never had success with these denim pads and if it did work, its not like good old wetsanding.
This was first time me using one so total dumbo here , I had good luck
Nice vid. You're Philly accent is THICK 😂
I'm not even from Philly idk how that happened 🤣🤣🤣
Marco, let say I done my car like you showed... after say 2-3 weeks CAN I BUFF THE CAR, and after go over the car with alcoholic cleaner, AND AD LESTS SAY 2 COSTS OF CLEAR ON TOP?
I KNOW, its not the way your doing it.....but lets say I was thinking that if the 2 coats should have laid a little bit better, i have been sadisfaiyd to put it in a show down....but it went as you said 3-5 feet away OK, but not for show....
I do the steps your done, looking much better, CAN I SPRAY MY CAR AGAIN WITH CLEAR AFTER DOING A TOTAL WIPE DOWN ON THE CAR, WITH EVERYTHING YOU DO, BEFORE YOU NORMALY DO BEFORE PAINT?
And its right at this moment, those panel parts can come in, as tryout panels- experimental panels- so you dont have to f u c k u p a hole car.....
Nicely done, fun to try new things! Good job!
To re clear have to re sand unfortunately
You missed a perfect low-level joke by not wearing DENIM shorts while using a DENIM buffing pad. Tsk Tsk. I tell ya what; you teach me how to paint and I'll teach you how to be a buffoon at a moment's notice. I have over 50 years experience!! I am the hit of my not-so-active senior retirement community!! Hurry and sign up for this limited time offer!!
True!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brake fluid.
Brake fluid will remove your orange peel.
Good joke
IM SORTIFIED
Looked more like it was dry spray rather than orange peel
Yea for sure right on the edge of the hood .
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 did you spray it flat or hang it?
thats not orange peal, that looks like you missed an overlap pass or 2 to me , from the lighting it looks like a dry edge .
It also looks like you have some fish eyes you were trying to burry them and didn't coat the whole hood . 😉😉😉
It's actually due to inconsistency in air pressure as I have explained in many videos. Buy this compressor, attempt to paint an entire car with it, video the results. If you do a better job than me I'll send you a mark1 shine pack on the house no cost
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 OH ok, Yea not having the VOLUME of AIR to push a paint gun is crucial . Have you tried using the Iwata LPH400 , which is low volume low pressure gun?
Let's goooooooo
😎😎😎
ABSOLUTELY WRONG!!!!, YOU CAN WET SAND AND BUFF 2 COATS OF CLEAR. What do you think you're doing with this pad
Your more than welcome to do that in your shop.
Not doing it in mine
We all have personal preferences in this trade
End of discussion.
come on now ! you wet sanded the paint with a Denim pad
No water man lol
Literally just the denim pad, compound, and polish
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 that wasn't a dry compound or polish !
@@diverdave4056 why are you so mad? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
W.r.t. you want to do a comparison when one side the buffed side is perfectly washed and clean and the other side has particle of etching from buffing the other side on it. Great comparison! NOT!
I'm very sorry you were dissatisfied. How can I make you feel warm and bubbly on the inside?
@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 do a proper comparison, clean both sides, and then show the difference. Condescending Ass.
advertising much!!
A little bit yes . But I'm here to show you guys diy videos and help . Iv been on RUclips for half a decade and after supplies , costs , overhead, iv made no money.
Come on, man, at least clean the right side of all the dust before showing a comparison. The right side could look pristine, but you wouldn't be able to tell with all of the debris on it
Thanks for your opinion.
You have helped us all
you can wetsand and polish 2 coats of lacquer
Do what you want to your car . It's a free world
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 just saying you mention you cant wetsand 2 coats but can lol
@@johnsilverchain92 oh you can
But there's consequences for running the clear coat that thin after sanding it.
But go ahead
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 best way is clearcoat light then base over clearcoat the clearcoat again very thick wetsand 4 times dry and then get buffer on it but on a da, also be carefull you dont buff through clear, i always wet sand with 240 first then all way to 3000
Good vid thx. Way too much babble.
Sorry I talk to much sometimes 😂
