But Im here to say that Bass Tournments are the most looked at then anyother fishing tournaments, probably in the entire USA ! Tournament Fishermen are not the Culprit! Its the uneducated angler that seems to cause more effect then anyother! The State of Missouri Conservation Department was once the biggest Department this state had! We spend millions here putting fish back in are lakes every year! We and alot other states do a good job! Im not here for the man! I'm mostly disabled and get out only for 1-3 hours at time, I wish I had the money for better electronics FFS, 360, but I have never been to found of as you said $30,000- 50,000 of all the items available. I never get skunked regardless. But we've seen it for decades as you've said about the multiple tournaments on same lakes. The thing that hurts the fishing industry is the bagging and releasing after weight ins and seeing dozens of dead 3-8lbs bass in the water. Another Utube site I watch the person primarily fishes Guntersville and had video of over 2 dozen fish floating and 200 boats in the tournament. I live in Mn and I've seen this many times on Lake Minnetonka alone. Even our crappie limits have decreased to only 10 in position and most lakes are under 10" size where even 15 years ago you could catch 15pd and most were 13-17". Their there all species but people and tournaments are keeping and killing everything they catch. Ban FFS and 360 and go to C-R.

There is not a politician on either political party that has said that they want our air and water to be dirty.. Also there is a difference between environmentalism and wildlife conservation. “Bass fishing is worse than it’s ever been’? Really? By what metric?
In TN we have lots of “precautionary advisories” on fish consumption. These are based upon a) fish surveys done in the 80’s and b) non-researched levels of pollutants. In other words, the “limit catfish consumption” signs on the TN River are in response to levels taken 40 years ago and are at a level that has never been shown to be detrimental to humans. A study done on a large number of heavy fish eaters in Watts Bar (with blanket precautionary advisories on every species) showed zero effect in mercury levels for the fish eaters.
I’m with you on Livescope in tournaments, but you make “science claims” that seem to be more gut feelings as an experienced angler than reading actual research. There’s tons of actual research about all kinds of fisheries issues and it seems that few people are reading it.

Wished you would have mentioned catch and release as a personal mandate to oneself. I really like the weigh on the spot and release system for tournaments . I know in reality that the system requires a Marshall and I suppose that requires money. I doubt a director could get volunteers. As for myself, I don’t ever fill my live wells with water, I put them all right back after the catch. I even do this when I trout fish for stocked trout, like I said, it’s a self imposed thing. Besides, like you said most lakes are or have been contaminated with mercury, or think about how many septic tanks seep sewage into the lake! My home lake is packed with homes and there is no public sewage system, it’s all septic tanks. No thanks on that meal. I recently watched a video of a local guy catching bass and he was not tournament fishing, putting them in his live well but releasing them later with the exception of one dead one. Hauled them all over the lake before releasing them!!!! Why?????????? Bragging rights, hold up more than one at a time??? With the technology we have of video and picture taking on our phone this makes absolutely no sense to me!!!!

Perhaps, they should designate zones on all bodies of water where fishing is not permitted year-round. Like they do with seed reefs. No boats allowed… period.
They can go into those zones and build habitat. Then those zones can seed the rest of the lake and keep rejuvenating life.

Now that every boat has to have a spotlight to be cool as per BASS you finish the death spiral of bass.

It’s definitely not like it was in the 80s on any of the lakes around here.

Not only do we have the ability to do actual research, people are doing it. It’s like listening to pros talk about fishing line and then watching someone actually test the lines. Most pro fishermen are more shamans than scientists.

It's not the fishing hurting the bass it's the chemicals they put in the water

Stop fishing when bass are on the bed and once the male is off the bed the fry are open to predator's. Anyone putting any type of water craft in the water needs to be mindful of invasive species and by not doing this is disrespectful to what mother nature has given us.
